My friend bought that. He’s pretty happy owning a Batman 1, but definitely a hefty price tag for a coverless copy. He saved a little money paying with a check so paid about $13,800.

I'd say the lack of exciting villains in the early issues didn't help the Daredevil brand, and this the 1st issue either. Sooo many good villains with ASM, FF, X-Men, ect.. Tough to get excited about the Matador, Owl and so on. I mean I guess that's more of an arguement as to why simply all early issues aren't as expensive in general, but I personally feel that has affected #1 as well. As far as comparing DD1 to Avengers 1 and Avengers 4. I'd say it's in the middle between those two, at least based off sales I've seen. And then Avengers 1 just breaks away 10-fold once it gets to the 9.0 and up range.

I have no idea. I’ve honestly never seen his signature on a comic. Not in a shop, not in an auction and not on a website. I have to imagine he signed a somewhat decent amount of stuff in the 60’s and 70’s. I mean occasionally at least, but maybe not. As far as PSA/DNA goes yeah I guess that would work, but I feel and I’m going to use the word, CBCS is more respected than those for sigs in the comic book market. My personal opinion. I just think they would hold more weight. Anyway, it’s definitely a cool piece. I wonder if it would sell for a significant premium if sold at auction as is. Would definitely be interesting to see.

Oh yeah trust me I know all about the Steve Ditko situation as it pertains to him signing anything like that, as pretty much everyone knows in this industry lol. I’ve just never seen a comic signed by him so if it’s legit then that’s pretty damn cool. I mean I guess if it were going to be legit then that would be the book it would have happened to and many many years ago. I wonder if it’s worth sending to the other guy to get it verified. Regardless pretty cool.

I agree. For an extensive restored .5 to sell for $145K that seems pretty solid. Got to give it to the almighty Action 1. Never ceases to amaze.
