  1. I'd take the CGC graded 2nd one without question. Obscure auction house with the 1st as mentioned, raw, with no knowledgable collector to give any incite. Just a recipe for potential disaster with the possibility of any amount of resto, pages missing, interior damage not known. Yeah, I'll take what's confirmed of what's unknown. As far as the graded copy goes, despite the dust shadow, it's not the worst 3.5 I've seen. I like that it doesn't have noticeable color breaking crease lines running from various sides as some tend to in that grade range.
  2. I mean as long as the resto falls within the guidelines according to CGC of what is deemed slight, then I guess so. I'd have to imagine the resto itself is maybe very small dots. So even though it takes up the full right and left side of the cover, it's still a very small overall amount in total. I'm just guessing of course though, no way to know without getting a good look at the book like CGC has.
  3. No I don't think $15,600 is high for a blue 3.5. A 4.5 recently sold for $20,400 and late last year a 2.0 sold for $12,600. I think an argument can be made this did sell a bit higher than one would expect, but considering the level of resto to the amount on the 4.5 that sold for $4,560, it's not a remotely close comparison. This 3.5 was somewhat close to an unrestored copy, the 4.5 may as well have been a .5 or 1.0 once unrestored. But I agree this sold solidly still.
  4. I agree, with mega keys less of an issue now than years ago when it comes to brittle, and moreso slightly brittle. Considering the lack of availability with Action 1’s and Tec 27’s that come to market, I mean it’s really not that often, and especially more “affordable” copies like this. I think even if one comes along with any form of brittle pages you just take what you can get. I see where the slightly brittle designation came from with his photos, but they’re nicer than I expected them to be.
  5. Yours should do well. It’s a great copy and much more affordable than a complete copy. So should have a considerably bigger buyer base competing for it.
  6. The 8.0 for DD7 is gone now, but I still have my 9.2. And yeah can’t beat those Foggy appearances 🤣
  7. Well if anyone ever had a shot at a solidly presenting partially coverless Tec 27 for a potentially decent price, this would be it. With the married centerfold/back cover and slightly brittle pages, may push some bidders away. I honestly have no problem whatsoever with any of those issues. Would be more than ecstatic to own this copy. Will be interesting to see what it hammers at. I suspect still somewhere over $100K, but who knows. Maybe it sells for less. https://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?back=%2FAUCTIONS%2FSEARCH.ASP%3FFocusedOnly%3D1%26where%3Dauctions%26title%3Ddetective%2B27%26ItemType%3DCB%23Item_1775694&id=1775694&itemType=0
  8. Looks like the guy took his auction down because I don't see it anymore. Not sure if someone messaged him, but 90K reprint no more haha
  9. If it were real, I’d say would be an easy buy at $90K in that condition.
  10. That's what I thought. I don't understand how they get away with these scams. Obviously noone's buying, but he's pitching a fake version. So should be illegal or just against Ebay guidelines.
  11. See I normally look at that too, but the guy who was selling a superman 1 cover for $12K on ebay also had like 0 feedback and it ended up being real haha
  12. Considering that last Superman cover that was on Ebay ended up being real, I'm not sure anymore lol. This isn't a real Supes 1 though right? Just a beat up treasury edition? https://www.ebay.com/itm/355322763007?itmmeta=01HW8FQ1E3MKX64KMNSG1Z25WG&hash=item52bae316ff:g:xhUAAOSwBgNli69f&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAAwMGp6%2BKs5WzH%2Fb8D8aiW4LlVSJDpAQFG9mTaHIKrJwjUiu1So4l8tHMcCSfUkaW31RZuDabT2S6rt3%2FNQKaNvjvjz4lMQS6ZLs%2B%2BIYkUNsye8Z%2BggWKS1yuWos7icp%2B5em2xWsrC5Wv44UXdwNfZiysm7nnYYycMpA0n%2BJ7JhvijV3E8WukqroInrMSejpRG%2BelgmMgCXFzA946b5Lc7SCjtMbr6DGXz8PJZeagBNqUYu6YsSkjhf%2FvPQZUOnEbMmg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR56X3I_iYw
  13. Great article about him: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/04/15/arts/robert-beerbohm-dead.html
  14. Couple recent pickups from the local shop with 7 and 10. The others were Wondercon pickups.
  15. Cracks me up when I see stuff like this. It’s like come on writer or editor, you had one job! Just source the correct damn photo, but nope, the wrong book is chosen 🤦‍♂️🤣. https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/comic-featuring-supermans-debut-sells-record-breaking-6-million.amp
  16. Oh yeah you for sure have the tough ones out of the way, and a 6.5 to an 8.5 is a great bump indeed for issue 3!
  17. I have to imagine almost all Strange Adventures issues probably have some of the best stories.
  18. 2-10 in 8.0+ would be a solid mini run. Shouldn’t be too expensive either other than issues 2 and 7.
  19. Yep seemingly reholdered, but with better page quality. I’m bummed, was really excited at the prospect of an undiscovered high grade copy 😭
  20. Oh wow, so this was the rusty staple copy, but now with better page quality.
