  1. Sorry I thought I detected a hint of some kind of sarcasm or something. If I misread then my bad. ??
  2. Oh yeah totally. Like I said I used Comiclink and do prefer them. I enjoy that convenience of having them handle everything whereas for the last 5 years of selling on eBay I shipped all the comics I sold. Up until I sold my Daredevil 1 my most expensive sales were in the $5K range. So nothing too expensive. As previously noted, I’ve seen big dealers sell big books on EBay and successfully. If they can do it, I’d be content to do it. I will say those were all graded and I do think that’s safer. Raw definitely scares me a tad more. But anyways, we could argue all day like you did with the other people and seem to enjoy lol. I’m not interested in doing that and there’s nothing you could say to convince me otherwise. So here’s a couple of ?. We can drink to you selling your big books where you prefer, and me selling mine wherever I prefer. Although it will probably be Comiclink unless I get the urge to only lose $750. ?.
  3. It’s $250 for them though, they aren’t a starter store ?
  4. Yeah I just checked and they are definitely an EBay store. So for them it will only be $250.
  5. Yeah I sell predominantly on Comiclink. However, would I have issues selling a big book on EBay, nah I wouldn’t. After seeing the 3.2 mil action 1, $950K All Star 8, $400K or so Sensation 1 and $300K or so Wonder Woman 1 I discovered big books can safely be sold on eBay. There’s obviously been others but those are the biggest ones that come to mind. And yeah I’m sure that ridiculously low final value fee in those instances is a nice thing. The biggest thing I’ve sold was my DD1 cgc 9.4, which I did let go on C-link.
  6. Based on my recollection eBay charges a max final value fee of $750. However, for members with an eBay store as I’m sure Sparkle City has it drops back down to the old amount of $250.
  7. Just showing these for anyone who hasn't seen these particular added questions they answered in the summary section. Q: Has this book been CGC or CBCS graded? A: We did not ever submit this book for grading. We do not believe it was ever graded by a 3rd party grader. Q: Why didn't you CGC/CBCS this comic book? A: We saw no reason to have this book encapsulated in a plastic case where the buyer can't see the pages or touch the actual book. We believe that a book like this should be appreciated in it's natural state. Given that this is not a brittle book or ultra high grade copy, we feel that the protection offered by encapsulation is not necessary. We wanted to be the first to publicly auction a raw Action Comics #1 in almost a decade! Q: What grade is this comic book? A: The book presents beautifully as a solid 3.0 - 4.0, but given the fact that it is missing a centerfold it would not receive a grade higher than .5 from 3rd party grading. Q: Is this book restored and to what degree? A: Yes, this book is restored. Overall restoration would be considered in the 4 - 5 range (Moderate/extensive restoration) by a 3rd party grader. Restoration includes: Color Touch (slight on the cover), Color Touch inside front cover, Piece fill and support to cover, Cover Cleaned and reinforced, Pages cleaned, staples replaced. Q: Can you share any history on the book? A: This comic was purchased in 1995 by our client. It was never offered for since then. It has been locked in a climate controlled bank vault for over 23 years.
  8. Oh yeah I don’t disagree with most of what you said and this is definitely an interesting situation you don’t see often. Definitely safer to sell extremely expensive books graded and not taking the chance. I’m just saying I get the issues towards selling raw instead of graded if the seller was an unknown, but that’s not the case here. I mean also it’s possible it wasn’t Sparkle City’s decision. It’s possible whoever the original owner is (since I believe Sparkle City is just consigning it) decided they wanted it to sell raw. Sparkle City could of course say no in that scenario and not want to take the chance, but I imagine too much money on the line to pass up. Regardless, you pretty much know what you’re getting with this so it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. I agree that there’s a distinct possibility the restoration could be more extensive than they detailed and that would be bad, but once again these people aren’t amateurs. In the end, people definitely seem content to take the gamble because it’s at $125K now! I hope the eventual owner, assuming the payment goes through, gets it graded and posts the results. Maybe he/she will get a nice surprise and it will come back a 9.8 ??
  9. Ultimately, it’s very easy to make assumptions without actually seeing the book. It’s distinctly possible it was detailed correctly by Sparkle City as far as the amount of resto goes, the sale will go through and there will be no issues. I mean these aren’t newbies haha. They sell expensive graded and raw books all the time. So a lot of talk about how bad this can go, but it may just work out lol. Anyway, yeah I also wouldn’t be surprised if wheoever’s bidding has a centerfold or coverless complete. This would be like a dream come true for them.
  10. I’m going to keep you in mind sir. I very much hope to have the cash needed someday soon for that. But if you ever come across a coverless copy missing one wrap or more please keep me in mind! That would be up my alley now.
  11. Other big books considerably more expensive have sold through eBay. And how do you know this was graded already?
  12. Where have you seen a coverless missing the centerfold go for $35K and under? And not because I’m doubting you, but I’d like one lol. I’ve never seen one go up for sale auction at least the last few years. I know a coverless complete sold somewhat recently by way of private sale for $80K or $85K.
  13. Here's the link to follow it. The way it's going I do not see it potentially having a problem breaking $150K. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Action-Comics-1-Original-Authentic-1938-10c-DC-Comic-1st-Superman-WHITE-PAGES/382488937438?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D01360f74ebaf4270911d9c07c751bdf3%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D142818868780%26itm%3D382488937438&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ad8de6322-7177-11e8-a64e-74dbd180dab5|parentrq%3A0928afee1640aa47a50f35c9ffec8801|iid%3A1
  14. Got to enjoy seeing this low grade copy hit the market. It’s a restored .5 (missing the centerfold). But it has beautiful pages and a solid cover. This should get interesting. Probably the best kind of low grade copy to go up for auction. Anyway, 8 days left and already at $100K!!!
  15. Yeah it definitely has it’s issues, but damn that cover and those pages are awesome!
  16. Oh yeah I figured. I was just more or less shouting at the world that it didn’t come to me haha.
  17. Yeah I just checked them out. , Sparkle City Comics, how in the hell did you come across those???!!! Should be very very interesting to see what that Action 1 finishes at. Already at $50K. Damn I wish I had more money lol.
  18. I pray that Tec 27 CGC 9.2 hits a no reserve auction someday. Would love to see what that beast of a book would finish at!
  19. Yeah I think that makes sense. Those would be amazing books to go up for auction!
  20. I see no color touch. Just pencil shavings.
  21. That sir will be an impressive little mini-run and already a great accomplishment where you are at. Please keep us updated when the last two come in!
  22. Happy to help ?. I’m getting mine graded in a few weeks so won’t be able to do this much longer lol.
