  1. It would be a toss up between Elvis's and Stan Lee's Personal Tailor
  2. As well as the real Charles Nicholas. I thought that too about Kirby after I read that first sentence, he did use that name I believe for the comic strip. Probably not but could be. Oh yeah robots, not quite Skull level popularity but somewhere in between Skull and Injury to the Eye level.
  3. Yeah that is something how all but the Church are such low grades. You would think the 1st Blue Beetle cover would have been saved by more people. With the MM 2 & 3 I just was thinking with such a classic cover #3 over time would sell for more, like in the future. I know I want one.
  4. Yeah under 2k for any early 5.0 Fox is a good deal. That was a real nice book. I noticed that too, MM2 selling for more than #3. I don't think thats gonna last but who knows.
  5. Oh great more competition. No, just kidding. Hi I'm Kevin. So what's next in the world of Golden Age for ya? You picked quite a nice one with that FF's.
  6. Yeah someone had some high grade Challengers they parted with fer sure. They don't get much higher than those. They do have historical importance being I believe the forerunner to Fantastic Four and before Justice League and all. Many consider SC 4 to be the first Silver but an argument could be made for SC 6. Don't know why they would call it slowcase. Issue 4 and 22 were never slow, were they? Issue 30 is awesome. And the rest are 2nd tier characters so what could they expect. And what the heck does microsoft copy mean? From the collection of Bill Gates? If so I could see why they call it microsoft copy instead. Not exactly a well liked chap.
  7. So the Cap 1 did hit 300. I didn't think it would after the comiclink sale. Here are a few that went high. Showcase 6 is kind of a historic book.
  8. Oh you got that one. Good for you. Yeah a Blue in that grade would have cost you 10,000 more so you did alright.
  9. I don't believe one will ever pull ahead of the other. They'll probably always sell for about the same. If 1's are selling a bit higher the past few sales that will even out. I agree with Clark, the 5.0 looked undergraded or at least strong for the grade. The little tears on the top probably brought it down but the rest looked real nice.
  10. Why stop at 99? They went that far, might as well make it an even hundo. Unfortunalely I gave that book a second thought. That thought was I thought cgc had to witness the signature before thy slab it. I can't see all the dates but I see a lot which leads me to wonder how many times that book was cracked and reslabbed. On 3rd thought I don't care.
  11. Thanks for verifying that. The cgc label says Fine cover but I had my doubts. And yeah it looks nothing like the Simon covers of the following months.
  12. Fine definitely did covers up until April 1940 for Wonderworld (12), Mystery Men (9), and Fantastic (5). Science 3 gets a little iffy to me because the aliens don't look like anything from any other of his covers. The womans face doesn't really look like other women's Fine drew either. I've heard some of the old artists use the term "Slick". If I understand the term correctly Science 3 looks slicker than pretty much every other Fine cover up until then. You can tell by the man that Weird 1 isn't Fine. None of it looks like Fine really other than maybe the lady. I'm not anywhere near an expert on Tuska (Fine either at that) and if they say Weird 1 is Tuska I'll believe it. Just aren't enough Tuska covers from back then to compare it to. The monster guy and the gorilla are just so unusual. The monster guy is a little Simon looking even.
  13. Would you rather it be Green labeled or Conserved labeled? Personally I prefer conserved, especially if the Green has missing anything. It is confusing to me though. I'm looking at a book right now (not to buy), recently graded, that has only staples replaced and married cover that has a Purple label. I just bought but have yet to recieve a book that has only staples replaced and has a Conserved label. Between your book, and a great book by the way, and the other two I can't quite figure out their method.
  14. I took what I thought was fair. The next day a 3.0 showed up on e bay with a married cover and no color touch., So in 9 days I'll find out if I sold to cheap or not. Gonna put the dough toward another early Action, Blue.
  15. I just sold this AC 23. But I just got back from 2 post offices and nobody working today knew how to ship registered so technically I still have it.
  16. I see his point. I think it's true at times. Heritage and CC, you know exactly how much you will be dishing out for the book if your bid wins. With Comiclink you really have no choice if you really want the book to bid high and hope no one else did the same. I can see that being a reason to just not bid at all. Stinks when you see that one jerk cost you hundreds or thousands extra with 1 second to go. It's just more comfortabe to know exactly what you will spend with each bid you make if you win. With Clink it's like playing poker with just one bet per hand before you see your cards. But it could also be a positive thing for bidders. Something caused no one to bid over 200k on the Clink Cap 1 and I don't think it was the appearance of the book. And the winner may have had a 300k bid in. So they got lucky, but more often than not that jerk shows up at the last second. Also Clink doesn't create bidding fever like the other two do so that could sometimes effect the hammer. People who are strong willed, who can't handle losing, have really deep pockets, low self control, desperate. or drunk can create higher prices so much more on HA and CC. Two people like that going for the same book........forgetaboutit. Just theory's that's all. Thanks Mike!
  17. That's a lot of work you did there Telegram . I got number 180 on the list.
  18. How would they make the book look better in the video without making Vince look like an Oompa Loompa or a face on an L.B. Cole cover? Does Comicconnect have that much technology? I think they just have good lighting at the office.
  19. Because no one cares much about those labels when bidding. It's a little bonus that's all. Might be good for an extra bid or two here and there.
  20. How do you do that? You put an "@" in front of someones name? Sure even with a not so special book like that above most people look to see if there is another one currently happening or or coming soon. Everyone here surely does, right?. With a big book like Cap 1 no doubt every bidder does....I would hope. Still surprised no one threw in an extra bid or two on the Clink Cap 1. My prediction is the CC copy wil get another 1 or 3 bids but that's all. Doubt it will go much over 250K with bp mostly because of what the CL copy sold for.
  21. ComicLink has no BP. And from what I see they had no back cover scan either, which is just (insert proper adjective here). The CC 7.0 does look a little nicer. In the video it does have really nice colors. The CL copy also may have as well but now we just can't tell. I do appreciate their honesty for obviously not using the brightness and contrast controls on their scanner. I mean that. I'm thinking the CL copy just showed up at a bad time because those who have a Cop 1 on their wish list were well aware of the CC copy by March 1st. Maybe they refrained from going after the CL copy in order to pursue the CC. If so I bet some are now wishing they hadn't. They may have been able to get it for 211,000. The CC copy is just about 240k right now but I doubt it will get much higher when the rollover timer begins. I'm fairly confident that whoever placed bids early on the CC copy were outbid right away which is why it's where it's at at the moment. Putting videos of the books in the auction page is a good idea too.
