I have only bought slabs on ebay and one from mycomicshop. im looking for other shopping locations either on social media site groups, like facebook and instagram or websites that are reputable and relatively safe to buy from sellers. any recommendations? thanks in advance

That's a deflection answer. The OP literally suggest market manipulations in his first post to which you answered but didnt say how if Bad Idea or Dinesh is personally profiting from limiting from their supply or if it was a conflict of interest to do so. So the subject is up for discussion and im just trying to understand this mind set. so ill tell you my thinking tell me where you think im wrong. People dont understand Dinesh and company are probably limiting their distribution to stores that they had a relationship at Valiant to reduce risk. which leads me to think they also have the stores best interest in mind by not having them buy extra books they cant sell. you know establish a floor or base of readers to spring board to more copies or books? a complete 90 degree turn compared to Marvel. It's a good idea as it reducing risk as i said before, they know with these stores they have a built in audience of previous Valiant readers that LOVE Dinesh. I know thats my reason for it and the talent they have got on board for their initial books. are they manipulating the market for their benefit, NO NO NO. is there going to be an affect to the secondary market flippers, scalpers oh yes (sorry, not sorry) but i seriously doubt that is a consideration they actually factor in their business decisions. Dinesh and his team are smarter than that. Brian Pulido routinely holds copies of rare books he offers as file copies, is that market manipulations for his benifit? now if you start seeing a couple of accounts selling eniac with a couple hundred books at inflated prices then you might have a case someone on the inside is selling their back stock stock but until that happens ill hold off on the libel.

do you recommend anything like gemini? i only used it because its the only one i am aware of that has the folding insides. mycomicshop has great shippers but i dont want to pay the prices to have the company manufacture them for me. other shipper boxes ive seen are just that small boxes which are too big for a lot of my purposes and too small for others.

off hand question but how tf do you all keep up with what is selling on ebay? im trying to sell off my collection and instead of searching for everything i have to see sales id love to know what currently is hot so i can get in on the action if i have it. also, if you use gemini comic boxes who is the cheapest to buy from? my stock of mycomicshop boxes ive saved up is dwindling and they get them specialty made from a company in TX. throw me a bone would ya?

and other than Dinesh owning the company how is any of this different than what the flippers/scalpers and spec sites do on a daily basis? I dont understand the animosity towards Dinesh and Bad Idea. Is this a conflict of interest? i get some people are upset their lcs isnt on the initial list but it seems Dinesh is rewarding lcs's for having supported him during his Valiant days.

ive had it on my pull list since it was solicited. it has exceeded my expectation, art, story, coloring have been top notch and the music addition was a very nice touch. while issue one was a nice heart felt setup story issue 2 and the sacrifice hit hard for me and kept me in for the long haul. you say season 1 just finished up are there plans for more because i find it hard to believe the story wraps up sufficiently unless its done in a scott snyder fashion.

finally read the first issue. didnt see the wow factor.

after reading the first five issues i feel like it started off well enough. but it seems like he is just getting inspiration from twitter at this point. While vol2 of Shade the Changing Man does not have a basis in conspiracy i feel like it did a better job at making the world feel like it was truly mad and insane. this is just m.e.h. madness.

I just I just wanted to add my two cents. I sent out four packages last week through USPS and the packages were delivered within 2 or 3 days Media Mail. One was even sent to Washington State and I'm in the southern usa. Which is a far cry from early December when it took almost a month for a couple of packages to get delivered.

It appears that Bad Idea will be begin shipping some of their books this year. My lcs is one of the stores that will be selling them to their patrons and ive signed up to buy everything. The initial line up of books looks promising as a reader. im sure its been talked about before but what is everyone's feelings on the speculator market concerning their books in the coming months? i imagine their print run will be tiny compared to the lowest selling valiant book; is that enough to get them hot to paying outrageous prices? Not sure if anyone is aware but I was told books for hold/pull list customers will be limited to one per customer. Not sure about shelf copies.

i use this in mine. are you more likely to buy a used car if it is advertised as having one owner or 10? of course i also add "been bagged and boarded since purchase and stored in long box". i think it gives a seller the impression they are dealing with a real person or fellow collector not just some faceless impersonal online store front. my books dont smell dusty musty like they have been in a back room storage depot.

of course there was tracking. i even sent them a picture of the receipt since i always have the packages scanned before giving them to the post office. just add them to your list.

add wilruthe21 sold some books in early dec. the post office did not deliver in two weeks and they contacted me asking if i knew anything. i explained they were either lost or just taking time due to christmas holiday. i asked to give it until january 1st to see if it arrive and i would refund the money no problem. their answer was to open a case against me. i used up every day i was able to before responded and ended up refunding the money, then the package was delivered and now its radio silence on their part. ebay wont do anything and i cant leave feedback because the case is closed. they had one feed back left and no feedback for them since they opened the account in 2019. their paypal account was in their ebay email account. i have a feeling it is a burner/scammer account. just avoid this person altogether.

im right there with you OP. I almost got caught up in the collecting grails just to have them mentality. But like others here just buy what they want or love. i think the former is a small percent of actual collectors. im at the point of my collecting hobby i am actively trying to get rid of books i no longer read by selling them on ebay and reducing my new comic buying by over half of what i was spending. im just tired of having thousands of drek books taking up space. i do have a list of grails i want to buy but if it is not a key in a run i love like, Dare Devil, or first appearance of Black Manta, i dont want it. And im certainly done with modern virgin covers. sorry scorpion, elite, frankies comics not buying your exclusive variants any more.
