So far there is a 9.8 pedigree copy that exists and I don’t think that’s going to happen this year but when that 9.8 does within say 5yrs consider it a 1.5 million dollar copy or more..

Makes sense, he cashed out with the sale to Viacom back in 09. And before that he didn’t go to many cons anyway. Fans would have to make an emotional appeal rather than CGC making a financial one.
Btw 60 million for TMNT was a steal for Viacom in retrospect.60 million and believe they got back 400 million in sales the same year so def Laird could of settled for 100 million but at the end of the day when u get 60 million at his age I don’t think holding out for more would do him more good unless u roll the dice in Vegas on red 😳

With the last sale of 88,000 for a 9.6 Tmnt #1 first print where do u see other grades hitting at aprox now

This was a recent purchase from a reputable boardie, and although I’d love to keep this and sell others, I can’t. This has to go to a new home.
Gorgeous copy Dan I’d be really tempted to trade for this.. hmmmmm

The heck with gobbledygook, I want Kevin at my wedding! That would be sweet. The theme song would be tmnt cartoon from the late 80s as my future wife walks down the isle.
What would a let’s say 7.0-8.0 Gobbleddy gook #1 from the first print go for today roughly as I know not many have been sold at auction

Yes, I'll start by saying I know Cerebus 1 is bronze age but I wasn't sure which forum to place this thread.
Members of this elite club own genuine, 1st print copies of
Cerebus 1 (1st Appearance of Cerebus, marks the rise of Independent comics),
Albedo 2 (1st Appearance of Usagi Yojimbo)
TMNT 1 (1st Appearance of the TMNT)
All 3 of these books are major independent keys in their own right. All are becoming more valuable and rare to pick up. They feature beautiful black covers that display their title character so there is NO ambiguity that these books represent their first appearance (like the Hulk 180 vs 181 debate). Due to their respective low print run, I rarely see any of these at conventions much less all 3. What would be the cheapest price to pick up all 3 books? Would it be possible to buy all 3 for under 5k? 10k?
I've met two major comic collectors in my area ( over 18k) comics and neither one owns all 3 of these keys. I don't own all 3 yet but it's my dream to own all especially if I hit the lottery! Are any of our resident comic aficionados already members? If so please show them off here!

Also, feel free to tag anyone else you may have a shot to a member.
It doesn't get rarer then this cover art proof that was done before Albedo 2 was printed. The original mock up cover art. I’d be willing to sell...
-
Rare beast is up for sale and these are definitely not a easy find. Prob the only one you will find in years to come. Albedo 2 cover proof less then 12 exist that was given out to the general public back in the 80s before the first appearance of Usagi came to light. Last sale was on Heritage in 2017 and the way the comic market is today and the new show coming to Netflix this is a perfect time to score a rare find.

The simple answer is it depends on the condition/grade of the AF15 compared to the TMNT 1.
Af is 5.0 and Tmnt 1 is 9.6 do u do a trade for the Af 15?
-

Do you have pics of the books in question?
No pics just a general idea if it’s smart to let go the 9.6 grade as I know Tmnt 1 first prints are rare to get. And Af 15s are always around

If we’re talking trading value for value, then the question is what holds value better over time?
if we’re talking you must have a 9.6 TMNT and this is the only way you could acquire one then go for it
what’s your end game?
Is it smart to let go a Tmnt #1 9.6 white for let’s say a 5.0 Af 15?

Let’s say 4.5 for a Tmnt 1 9.4

Love to hear some boarders or people’s opinions. Judging a grade that’s let’s say 9.6 Tmnt 1
