  1. Depends on your sense of self-respect and if that last remaining page is realistically priced (sounds like the owner could be practicing extortion?). I've been trying to put back together two 1965 UK serials for years. A Spanish collector has one page that's important to me, but has something like 10 x FMV on his page that I'm not about to jump through hoops to acquire. I've made a very generous offer but will not go the route of masochism to obtain the art. I own a couple of pre-trend EC complete books (covers and interiors) that I bought in their entirety. Nothing special to me. Another run I've been pursuing is the Marshall Rogers Demon With a Glass Hand graphic novel from (I think) 1986. On that one, I'm just happy to now own ten representative pages plus the cover prelim. Putting the book back together is never going to happen and it's not my aim.
  2. Latest sculpting project finished . . . full-size bust Andro from the OUTER LIMITS episode, 'The Man Who Was Never Born'. My display copy is the brown version and the spare copy I keep has been painted green (because the original series was in b&w paint-schemes can go in any direction). The hair piece is a cheap wig I bought off eBay. Included in the selection of photos is the process involved from start to finish on sculpting in clay, to making a mold, to casting copies. Have also included a couple of screen-captures from the filmed episode for comparison.
  3. Oops, sorry for the late response, I missed your post. The eyes are pre-made, available in various sizes on eBay (I just insert them from inside the bust prior to foam-filling.. They look perfect and save me a paint job trying to make them look convincing!
  4. The acrylic eyeballss I've been waiting on arrived a day earlier than advised so I was able to complete the first copy of my latest monster sculpture. I'm doing two different paint-schemes (I keep a display version and a spare copy) with my second version having a light brown base colour. I'll crack on with that one in a few days time. In the meantime, here's the Green Helosian from the OUTER LIMITS episode, 'O.B.I.T' . . . standing about 11" tall.
  5. Baffling design? Clearly it's Spider-man's chest emblem!
  6. Day two work-in-progress of a new OUTER LIMITS full-size sculpture . . . the Helosian alien from the season one episode, 'O.B.I.T.'. Some photos included from the filmed episode for comparison.
  7. I have a CAF gallery of photos taken during my visit to the Palma exhibition in 2016: 2. Steve Ditko Exhibition - Palma, Spain 2016 - Terry Doyle's Original Comic Art Gallery at ComicArtFans.com
  8. Yeah, one of our newbie members did a thread on that one a while back, lol!
  9. Ladies and gentlemen . . . we have a WINNER!
  10. Great selection and good to see someone else provide commentary to their CAF postings. Congrats!
  11. I wasn't quite happy with my first finish so did some revisions. I softened some of the grey shadow areas and re-painted the mouth cavity adding some epoxy . . . to make more of a match with the eye sockets. Should show a slight improvement (sometimes I re-work things after a few days when I come back with a fresh eye).
  12. Not really. The photos don't really bring out the textures I applied.
  13. New OUTER LIMITS sculpture completed. This is the unused prop version of Chill Charlie from 'The Human Factor'. He stands at about 12" tall. Following photo selection shows my process from start to finish. Also included is a shot of the original prop.
  14. Final win from the recent Heritage auctions: Demon With a Glass Hand - page 13, in Terry Doyle's 8. DEMON WITH A GLASS HAND Comic Art Gallery Room (comicartfans.com) Of the nine pages offered by Heritage in recent weeks, I managed to snag five pages. Some prime examples re-surfaced and I'm now at ten interior pages plus the cover prelim (a good chunk of the graphic novel). It was always on my wish list to have a good range of representative examples from the book, rather than try to put it all back together (which was never going to happen) and I'm now more than content on that score. Congrats to other buyers, if they're on these forums, and thanks again to Brian Peck who gave me the heads-up on these offerings.
  15. Auction bidding strategies? Rule # 1: Lock away the alcohol.
  16. Update! I've now won two more pages in today's closing auction. Page 6, which ties into the opening of the televised episode as. after the control voice narration. Mr Trent appears delivering his opening lines of, "I was born ten days ago": Demon With a Glass Hand - page 6, in Terry Doyle's 8. DEMON WITH A GLASS HAND Comic Art Gallery Room (comicartfans.com) . . . and page 43, which jumps a beat (I'm missing page 42) and continues on from my previous won two-page sequence. Demon With a Glass Hand - page 43, in Terry Doyle's 8. DEMON WITH A GLASS HAND Comic Art Gallery Room (comicartfans.com) Couldn't be any happier with four good wins out of six pages offered thus far!
  17. Thanks, Felix. Yeah, I too suspect that these pages may well have come from Harlan's estate.
  18. Ha, ha, ha, yeah, I've snacked in that Subway! There's also a huge painting of Anthony Quinn on one of the walls of a building opposite the Bradbury (look at the parked cars in the foreground to get the scale of the thing) . . .
  19. Oh, gawd, no. Just trying to put-together a selection of representative examples.
