  1. I'm a big fan of the early 1960s science-fiction TV show, THE OUTER LIMITS, and my favorite episode is 'Demon With a Glass Hand', written by the late great Harlan Ellison. During the mid-1980s Marshall Rogers was tasked with bringing Ellison's sparkling teleplay to life as a graphic novel for DC. For the most part, Rogers stayed faithful to Ellison's original shooting -script - though there are some slight changes (having compared the graphic novel to Ellison's shooting -script contained in HE's Brain Movies Volume One). About six years ago I was lucky enough to purchase the cover prelim along with five interior pages, four of which Felix Lu kindly offered to me. Several weeks ago Brian Peck, remembering I was a fan of the story, gave me the heads-up on some interior pages coming up for auction. Of the group of three pages coming up for auction at the same time, Monday just gone, I managed to win pages 40 and 41 - which happened to be one of my favorite action sequences from the graphic novel adaptation. Page 40 features the hero of the story Mr Trent destroying the Kyben time-mirror . . . and page 41 has some nice shots of the interior of the Bradbury Building in dowtown Los Angeles (where Demon was filmed). I've visited the Bradbury several times on trips to LA and it's a remarkable building Parts of Blade Runner and countless other TV shows and movies have been filmed there. The two pages I won have been paid for and are awaiting shipping. I see no reason why I shouldn't upload them onto my CAF, A couple of small images and links to larger scans on my CAF (where other pages can be viewed for those of you interested enough to take a look): Demon With a Glass Hand - page 40, in Terry Doyle's 8. DEMON WITH A GLASS HAND Comic Art Gallery Room (comicartfans.com) Demon With a Glass Hand - page 41, in Terry Doyle's 8. 2. New OUTER LIMITS sculpture now finished (one of five copies). The brain-in-the-attic creature from an episode called, 'The Guests'. Stands about 11" tall. Selection of photos showing commencement of the sculpture, and processes involved, up to the first painted copy as follows (last photo is of the screen-used prop, which I'm including for comparison)
  3. I run a FB group specializing in Movie Poster paintings. We often have artwork being posted For Sale, if that's of possible interest to you?
  4. Hi I currently have three vintage covers up for auction with Comic-Link ending in a few days . . . NUKLA # 4 cover (1966) by Steve Ditko. CAPT. SAVAGE & HIS LEATHERNECK RAIDERS # 2 (1968) by Ayers . . . Origin of HYDRA issue! Unpublished ADVENTURES INTO THE UNKNOWN cover (circa 1952) by Ken Bald.
  5. After weeks and weeks of putting it off, I finally got round to completing the water-effect base for my waterline fish-monster from the OUTER LIMITS episode, 'Tourist Attraction' Not quite sure if I've pulled it off successfully as sculpting and painting water is a new direction for me and not the easiest of things to do. I think it's 'okay'. Total length of this display copy now measures about 19" long.
  6. I feel a song coming on . . . How does it feel When you treat me like you do And you've laid your hands upon me And told me who you are? I thought I was mistaken And I thought I heard your words Tell me, how do I feel? Tell me now, how do I feel? Those who came before me Lived through their vocations From the past until completion They will turn away no more And I still find it so hard To say what I need to say But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me Just how I should feel today
  7. Agreed. Too much time debating at the expense of making a (realistic) timely offer. Put up or . . . Or (to quote Elvis): "A little less conversation, a little more action"
  8. Green Turdo (from the OUTER LIMITS episode, 'Don't Open Till Doomsday) now completed, bar any paint corrections (I usually give it a day or two then come back with a fresh eye to see if any touch-ups are required). Stands at about 11" high (it started off at 12" but there appears to be shrinkage in the latex as it cures?). One of five copies. I'll be doing a brown Turdo later on in the week . . . how can you not have a brown Turdo???
  9. Day four of my latest OUTER LIMITS sculpture . . . Turdo, from the episode, 'Don't Open Till Doomsday' Some work-in-progress photos attached, including one of the screen-used prop.. Ready to cast my first copy tomorrow as the plaster needs to dry a bit more. The two arms will be sculpted and cast separately and added to the alien 'Turdo'. Will stand at about 12" tall.
  10. Thanks! Actually, it doesn't weigh much as it's a latex cast filled with rigid-drying polyurethane foam. Here's a post-casting photo of two latex pulls from the plaster mold curing in the sunshine. The cast on the left is untrimmed. At this stage, they're hollow prior to filling the interiors with the polyurethane foam fill (which doesn't weigh much). The latex goes browner over a period of several days as it fully cures - hence the darker color of the one on the right.
  11. New PUTER LIMITS sculpture, with the first of five copies now painted. I keep two copies for myself and have buyers on hand for the other three. This is the Chromoite alien from 'The Mice' (yeah, he's a weird-looking critter). Series of photographs from day one of the sculpture up to day ten (also including some screen captures from the filmed episode for comparison). He measures about 12".
  12. In case my avatar appears to have killed this thread stone cold dead . . . the Voord was a very early enemy from Dr Who (season one, 'Keys of Marinus' featuring William Hartnell as the Doctor). As such, Dr Who could be the next post . . .
  13. Okay, I'll play . . . Killer fish (right half).
  14. And the Raven, never flitting, still is sitting, still is sittingOn the pallid bust of Pallas just above my chamber door; And his eyes have all the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,And the lamp-light o'er him streaming throws his shadow on the floor; And my soul from out that shadow that lies floating on the floor Shall be lifted—nevermore!
  15. We're talking Nirvana, right? Good album.
  16. I think this might qualify as a one-pager . . . A single page incorporating two GARTH tryout strips from early in David Lloyd's career (V for Vendetta was years away at this point). Interestingly, David illustrated these at same size of the printed page, not realising that originals were illustrated much larger in size!
  17. Half-page (self-contained) painted strip by Cyril Holloway that featured in the UK's EAGLE comic of the 1950s. Some missing paste-ups of text and photo of the actual DFC Medal used for the opening panel.
  18. Stumbo the Giant one-pager in my collection. Warren Kremer, I think.
