Such a shame. I ordered none so I have no horse in this race but I have followed this throughout the day and this course of events is a real shame.
Kudos to you Menace, you tried to do right by people but you can never make everyone happy.

Thanks for starting this thread. I first learned about Supersnipe from an old ad in a '70s fanzine. Been curious about them since, but there's very little information available on the web.
As an aside, the original painting to the Howard Chaykin STAR WARS poster from San Diego Comic-Con 1976 you mention in the Rebelscum thread, was listed in a late-'70s OA catalog (one of the Jim Steranko/Joe Parente catalogs, iirc) for $750.
Best of luck with your research.
Felix maybe you can provide more specific details?
From a follow up post on Rebelscum:

I've actually now got the first three volumes of the Steranko/Parente catalogs (1977, 78, 79) and none contain the Chaykin poster artwork mentioned in Nexus' post. One does contain Chaykin pages from SW, though. Bummed -- I dropped a few bucks to get the '77 volume

Compared to a #35 9.8 for $4100, I'd say you got a damn good deal on that page. So congrats on that, too.
That book only sold for about $1300. Mycomicshop came on another thread and said that there was bidder error and they worked it out with the underbidder.

A lot of people would like to know where Hsu's Adventurers #1 cover wound up. I believe #8 was auctioned off by Heritage a year or two ago but was not identified correctly and fell under the radar. Perhaps someone else can clarify.
There's a guy who is a huge Deadpool fan that has a website and he acquired the NM #98 cover many years ago. It was on his website. If you do a bit of googling, I'm sure you'll find it.
I would imagine that he's gotten some insane offers for it and perhaps he's even sold it privately.
Well, look who and what showed up...

If he hasn't gotten some insane offers before, he certainly will now...

In my opinion, HOS should be for those who 1) stole money from a transaction [sold but never delivered or delivered fraudulently] or 2) are repeat offenders. I think deal breakers should be probation list material.
I agree with #2 which is why I suggested if other people experienced the same thing (as implied in that thread) they should bring it up here.
The problem is that I have had others PM or email me and tell me that he has done the same thing to them but no one else has volunteered the info either because they don't care to or because they are not board members. So should someone be protected from the HOS list because others don't come forward? Or can the fact that so many people nominated him factor into the decision?
In the end, I'm not sure it matters because I think simply keeping him on The Probation List has been effective and should hopefully keep him away regardless.

I have not been very involved in HOS/Probation list discussions so I dont have a good feel for what is/isnt worthy of the HOS upgrade.
Posting dog balls in threads seems to be a one way ticket
On a more on topic note. It would certainly seem to me that JMG's actions indicate he isn't going to change his tune or his behavior any time soon.
I support this as well. Again, I have been made aware of a pattern of behavior so I'm not the only person he has done this to. If you see the thread, others actually nominated him as well. Please also note that consistent with his prior behavior in changing his name, when the thread did not go as he planned, he changed the title and removed the piece from being for sale. But I thought it was rather brilliant the way he changed his first post to still indicate that he had a Superman cover for sale if anyone y'know, wanted to PM him to inquire about it.
And again, I think the entire thread is a great example of The Probation List in action.

I wanted to bring everyone's attention to this thread. It's a great example of the Probation List at work. JMG initially came on the Original Art Marketplace forum to sell a Jim Lee Superman cover but then changed the title of the thread after all of the responses.

JMG formerly Crees Tyler has been nominated by others for the Hall of Shame in the above cited thread. This is a nomination that I support as well.

Thanks guys! I feel very fortunate to own it.

I hope to get a copy one day.
You will.
The 7 is going to be a challenge though. And don't give up hope on a #1, anything is possible
C'mon, 7s are easy. I was just looking in my comic box and found this one...

I have a few Walking Dead cast sightings in Manhattan. The other week I saw Steven Yeun (Glenn) at Stumptown Coffee in the Ace Hotel and this morning I crossed paths with Norman Reedus (Daryl) right in front of my apartment building in the West Village.

We're 6, 8&9 even posted?

Has anyone been able to get in touch with Tony or Kara? Anyone help me contact them? I had a few deals in place..
Sorry but they are dead to me. Charlie Adlard is the only artist I will ever acknowledge going forward as having worked on The Walking Dead in this thread.
bonus points if someone knows what movie its from
UHF
Fantastic movie. Just rewatched it again over Thanksgiving. I might go to Spatula City tomorrow.

While I understand the uproar, that reaction is very typical of what happens when any asking price increases. With the sheer volume of pages that Mark has sold recently, I would imagine that the reasoning on these pages is to price aggressively and let the pages sell as they may, rather than to under price and sell through everything only to then see them on eBay.
I would also add that he can always test the market and then lower his prices if they don't sell. It's much easier to do that than to raise them.
-
I'm curious why issue 105 art is higher priced than previous issues....
My guess is to compensate for the demand for Negan pages. Given what has happened with Governor pages, I think Mark is trying to be ahead of the curve and get full value for these pages.

Like Jerry, I'll always consider offers and trades for covers.

The Walking Dead Issue 4 page 22 Original art by Tony Moore - published art!!
Winning bid: US $3,200.00
Decent price for that page. Congrats to the buyer and seller!
-
Also, this was the OA i was talking about a few weeks ago. My buddy purchased this a long time ago. this thing is amazing.
Ironically that is the page after mine.
-
Wow, guess we'll see what a Tony Moore page is worth. Strong bidding already...

yes. but St 110 sells for a lot less than its first appearance cousins. And not only due to Doc's lesser tier status. But together, they keep the value down.
then again, ST 110 is a good spec bet. sooner or later hell be in the Marvel Films lineup, and its still cheap.
I hope so.

So Dem, did you buy that #33 page 3 from ebay or was you selling it?
No I'm not German, but I did have a little fun with you Jerry.
I'm glad it was sold to you, though it is time for you to get some proper scans up
Agreed!

buddymagoo - are you referring to page 2? I bought it and it wasn't easy as the seller had significant offers from multiple people and it seemed almost a certainty that someone was going to get it off of eBay.
Seeing as I had the other 4 pages in the sequence, I'm happy that I was able to get it and appreciate the seller choosing to sell it to me. I bought pages 3 - 5 a while ago because I loved that issue and the owner only wanted to sell the 3 as a set. When I had those three pages in hand, I thought they were much better in person and became interested in buying other pages from the sequence. Page 1 showed up a few months ago and I was able to secure that page but I never really thought page 2 would show up and certainly not so soon after page 1 did. Looking back, if I had not purchased page 1, I probably would have kicked myself seeing how quickly page 2 showed up, so I'm glad I did even though it wasn't with the intention of finding page 2. I bought page 1 because I really think these pages are "special." When page 2 showed up, I was really excited but securing that page was fortuitous. In the end, these pages have literally come from all over the world to come back together and I think they make an incredible sequence. It was also really cool to see them play out in some way in last nights episode!

So I nominate JMG formerly Crees Tyler on the boards to be added to the Probation List.
