  1. I need to put ZoMbiE13 on the Probation List.

He agreed to buy a book from me stating, "Ok ill take it. Give me your address so I can mail you a money order on Tuesday." on 8/21/11.

The check never came. He said he was mailing me the check on a few occasions since but the last time I heard from him was 9/3/11. I have since sent him PMs and emails to his personal account and have not heard back.

I also need to put itsatoy67 on the Probation List.

He agreed to buy a book from me on 6/24/11 stating, "I can send payment via Paypal & personal to avoid any fees, let me know if that works & your email address & I will get this out." and never sent payment and then made the excuse about 2 weeks later that he needed to talk to his wife and could not buy the book.

  2.

Didn't Kasey pay 23K for this copy? Which at the time was an all-time high? Then he sold it for around 40K? He should have kept it!

  3. An Action #7 CGC 1.0 has been added to the preview of the May Heritage auction. No pic yet, but the description notes a moderate amount of tape to cover and interior.

So a detached/reattached cover? Should be interesting!

Description:Action Comics #7 (DC, 1938) CGC FR 1.0 Off-white to white pages. While this auction is focused on Gary Dahlberg's original-owner "Twin Cities pedigree" collection for the most part, Mr. Dahlberg did pick up some secondhand gems in his day as well, most notably this copy of one of the hottest Golden Age books around! It's the second Superman cover ever, and tied with Detective #22 as the second superhero cover in the history of comics. Formerly somewhat under the radar, this book has rocketed into Overstreet's top 15 in just the past few years.

While this copy is Fair for reasons clearly visible on our scan, we'll note that the last three copies of #7 we auctioned sold for 2-6 times Guide, and we expect strong interest in this one as well.

CGC notes, "Moderate amount of tape on cover & interior." Overstreet 2010 GD 2.0 value = $6,060. CGC census 3/11: 1 in 1.0, 14 higher. From the Gary Dahlberg Collection.

  4. Gator do you read moderns and if "yes", what titles?

yes... pretty much all of them that come out each week, even if I don't want to lol

have to keep up with titles in case my customers have questions, need recommendations, etc

ones I would read if I didn't have to read most all are

    walking dead

    Terry Moore's Echo

    any Luna Brother release

    Batman

    Powers

    any garth ennis

Only title on that list that I am aware of is Batman. Although I remember Ennis from my retailer days

Rick giving a shout out to Echo! A very underrated series. It's excellent and I'm surprised to learn that anyone else is actually reading it. I think the Luna Brothers are very good with concept but their dialogue needs A LOT of help.

  5. Don't get to our Chik-fil-A often, but the waffle fries are definitely a plus.

Being a transplant from California, I certainly miss the occasional In-N-Out Double Double with extra onions. Miss Del Taco too. Florida is krap for decent fast food joints, unless you count Five Guys.

Some people swear by Five Guys and I've even heard people rate it above In N Out. I wholeheartedly disagree. It's better than McDonald's but having been there a few times when it first came to New York, I don't see ever eating there again. But every time I'm in LA, I go to In N Out at least once.

  6. Dear Gator,

Why does this thread always revert to college football of the Southern variety..?

because they don't have Chick-fil-a restaraunts in NY lol

Actually there IS a Chick-fil-A in Manhattan. It's a little top secret because its on NYUs campus, but it is accessible to the public. As soon as I found out about it, I had to go because I love Chick-fil-A, and I am happy to say that it was as good as it is anywhere. The only caveat is that you have to be prepared to feel very old because you are going to be eating with college kids. But then again, it's Chick-fil-A, so it's worth it.

Believe it or not, my Dad went to college with the founder of Chic-Fil-A.

2 of the franchisees got to our church...I get LOTS of free sandwich coupons :luhv:

They just opened up two of them near me in the last few months. They are totally packed at lunch with the drive-thru spilling out into the street. Definitely the best chicken sandwich though their waffle fries are well down the list.

What? Their waffle fries are awesome! They are reportedly opening a Chick-Fil-A catercorner to the In-N-Out on Sunset Blvd. in LA. That should be an interesting competition.

  8. Good stuff :cloud9: two thumbs up (thumbs u (thumbs u . Enjoyed some of the new stuff including the fathers struggle to take down his wife. I thought he would do it.

Actually that's the part that DIDN'T work for me. I love the series, I loved the first episode, but that entire scene pulled me right out of the narrative.

First, makes a HUGE deal about how stupid it was to fire a single round from a small caliber revolver earlier in the episode and how it brought dozens of walkers near the house.

NOW, he's firing a .308 hunting rifle that's a mess-ton louder than that little .38 he fired in the street and he fired it several times. Unless he was trying to commit suicide and kill his kid, that part made no sense given his earlier speech about them being attracted to sound and gathering a bunch of them in one area would be a problem to deal with.

He did it to draw her in.

    +1

That was why he was boarding up the door beforehand. He wasn't trying to commit suicide or endanger his son.

Remember, at this stage in the story they don't know about large horde. That wasn't in the comics until Abraham.

The scene before the scene I am talking about he lectured Rick about being careful not to get involved with a large horde and what will cause them to gather. That was his warning to Rick. In that scene he is also scared of what will happen if Rick kills the man at the police station, will that sound draw in more dead.

The action is incongruous to all his advice and warnings to Rick. That's all I am saying. Regardless of him trying to draw her out.

I agree, that's a good point and seemed strange that the dead didn't then swarm the house trying to get in.
