  1. Thanks @SpideyFein appreciate you providing more info!
  2. Yes but I believe there are several 1st print #1s signed this way so wanted to see if anyone had any further info on them. Thanks
  3. Yes I'm familiar having been in the hobby since the 80s but if I recall there are a number of 1st print #1s that were signed this same way and I thought someone might have more info.
  4. Question - whats the story on interior dual signed 1st print copies? If I recall correctly, weren't these copies the ones people bought directly from them at signings?

  6. Small world...and one of his best friends at Northwestern was Billy Eichner...who I met in Robyn's apartment back when Billy was doing a web series call 'Billy on the Street.' Unbelievalbe to have known them back then and then watching their meteoric rise.
  7. My old next door apartment neighbor for about 18 months right up until he was cast in the role and just started shooting. Prior to that he was struggling to get any roles after finding early notoriety in a small role in the movie Accepted. He was (and hopefully still is) one of the nicest, sweetest guys I knew. Couldn't have been happier for his success.
  8. Well now they pulled it. A lot you have been tracking, lot # 94083, previously described as: "Jack Kirby and Russ Heath Tales of Suspense #28 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1962). A fantastic splash page that could easily have been used as one of Kirby's famous "monster" covers of the day! This one's extra special with inks by Russ Heath, renowned as one of the great Silver Age pencilers in his own right. Rendered at twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 12.5" x 18.5". The slightly toned board has adhesive residue along the back edges, with light smudging and staining from handling wear. In Very Good condition. From the Estate of Jeff Gorrell." in the 2020 November 19 - 22 Comics & Comic Art Signature Auction - Dallas, #7236 has been withdrawn from the auction and is no longer available for tracking.
  9. If I recall correctly, it was auctioned (or Buy it Now/Best Offer) on eBay within the last 5 years and sold for a very reasonable price. But I do believe there was some whiteout or damage or discrepancy with the published image that may have factored into what it sold for.
  10. That would appear to be the case. The CT removal scraping was certainly a detractor in the 6.5 SS sale.
  11. Interested in seeing if this one validates the 9k Comiclink sale...certainly looking like it as higher graded copies are seemingly drying up... https://www.ebay.com/itm/Giant-Size-X-Men-1-CGC-9-6-Off-White-White-Pages/193706058868?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  12. This 6.5 sale is amazing, CT scraped off and then SS by Miller and sold for 10k+ https://www.ebay.com/itm/TMNT-TEENAGE-MUTANT-NINJA-TURTLES-1-CGC-6-5-SS-Auto-White-Pages-1984-1st-Print-/303695155415?LH_All=1&hash=item46b5a450d7%3Ag%3ALA4AAOSwV65fYQQF&nma=true&si=FtS6rCoHdhz4MMN9kVHHbGqSXpE%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 and then this 6.5 blue for best offer accepted (can't find the accepted offer but assume it was close given the number of declined/expired offers): https://www.ebay.com/itm/TMNT-TEENAGE-MUTANT-NINJA-TURTLES-1-CGC-6-5-Mirage-1984-1st-Print-/402364677613?nma=true&si=FtS6rCoHdhz4MMN9kVHHbGqSXpE%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  13. Agreed with everyone here. Was a pleasure to deal with and great with communication and proactively completed the deal without me needing to follow up. Would absolutely deal with again!
  14. As someone who started collecting and going to comic shops and conventions during this time I can tell you that most all of the copies of TMNT #1 (1st prints, etc) and Albedo #2 survived. They were only sold in comic shops and TMNT #1 was a sensation almost immediately which caused collectors and store owners to account for them. And early on you could still order them directly from Mirage or they were sold at cons by Eastman & Laird. By the time Albedo came out it was the independent boom and dealers were all over Albedo #0 (all printings) and #1 (all printings). So believe me, they were aware of #2 (and #3 and #4 and Critters #1, etc). This was a time when there were lots of comic shops and very few books fell through the cracks. It was 1984 not 1944 when books were bought and thrown away and few actually survived. Its not like every dealer at every con had Albedo #2 and TMNT #1 but if you were patient they would show up every so often at shows and comic shop walls.
  15. This book is really hard to peg FMV on as GPA is not capturing a lot of these recent private sales. From the boards, we know of a 5.0 that sold for 10k+, Mighty joe had an 8.0(?) that he sold(or sold/traded?) in the teens and then Dave & Adam had the 8.5 that sold within in the past week somewhere (seemingly) at or close to 20k as I know they had turned down offers close to that number. Then we also have the CL 8.0 sale at 14k which seems weak in comparison. I believe I heard about the 9.4 geofan is referring to and I think it undersold. If its the same copy I know of, it was being sold out of, I believe, the SF area and the seller offered it to a few people and it sold almost immediately. Someone else had asked me about that book and when they followed up the day after it was offered to them, it had already sold. I had encouranged the person to buy it since if the D&A 8.5 was 20(ish) then a 9.4 at 30 seemed like a deal. Clearly someone else thought the same thing given how quickly it apparently sold.
  16. @october if you were tempted at 45k why not scrape the CT off yourself (which is obviously why these bids are so high) and then see what you could sell for in a blue holder and maximize the profit for yourself? I'd imagine you could sell for even higher directly here on the boards.
  17. That just means they're awaiting payment on an accepted offer. Once you can no longer even submit a back up offer its pretty much a done deal.
  18. Looks like someone agreed on the Batman #1 and the buyer made an immediate flip with HA at 132k - no time to even ship it out to the original buyer. The original buyer gets sent a check for the difference instead. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/batman-1-dc-1940-cgc-gd-25-cream-to-off-white-pages/a/7234-91033.s?ic19=MotoOffers-ItemDescription-041718
  19. Great communication as a buyer on a recent deal - a positive experience overall. Welcome to the boards and good luck with future buying and selling!
