That seems like VERY cheap. The ComicLink 2.5 ended at 380K

so there you go - about 5% below the current price of the one on the CC auction.

Yep - congrats to whomever bought this Tec 27 at Hake's. Definitely seems like it slipped under the radar!

I mean yeah Sensation 1 is pretty rare but the reason it’s not readily available like the other two isn’t because of its rarity. People just tend to hold onto their copies for some reason. There’s certainly more than enough copies if people wanted to sell them to flood the market.

    Because it’s better than AS8 :-)

  3. I've recently become more enamored of the Golden Age Timely "look". I mean WWII era books (and pre-WWII).

Only problem is, most of the prices are through the roof ;-) ... at least for all the "obvious" series, Captain America, USA, Human Torch, Marvel Mystery, etc.

I'm wondering if folks have any suggestions for a "budget" GA Timely collector in terms of other titles/series... such as Miss Fury ... which have cool art, and that Timely "feel", but which are more affordable.

Just went and pulled the old boy out as I have not looked at it for a few years,Resto includes color touch, tear seal, reglossed & new staples, 3 sides trimmed off white white pages. At the time $5700 actually high if I recall but I wanted the book & had income tax funds to help lol. I am fine if its 20/25

I think 20/25 sounds just about right! Aside from the other resto it loses a little value because of the trimming. But it’s still a Bats 1!!

I would imagine at least 500% more are out there than in the census for the more common books, but for the Ac1 and Tec27...maybe only 200-300% more...U gotta remember, not all collectors from the 60s and 70s are still active, and only a very few are aware of these boards.  Many are not even aware of CGC...

I  would think the “upward gravity” of these 2 books’ value would’ve probably brought most of them to market in the past 2-3 decades.

  6. This is the part of the description to which I'm referring:

    Quote

The cover has not been reglossed, and any piece fill is Japanese paper or leafcasting -- no color copies or donor books were used. Initially a CGC-graded complete copy, no marriages of major missing pieces were attached to the cover and interior, and the book has not been trimmed.
