  4. Some people on Ebay have asked me if this is a poster. Why they would ask me that I am not sure, as I have clearly stated this is the original art. With only a day remaining it is at $70. A steal. If it does not show more movement by tonight I may end it. These Criminal OA covers were selling for over $3,000 when originally listed back in 2008.

  8. The only ones I can think of from that era, the early to mid fifties first comic fandom group, are Ronn Foss, Roy Thomas, and possibly Bill Schelly, though he is a little later on. And they are known for collecting comics at that times, not really involved in fandom. It was improbable in those days for collectors outside of their town or city to ever meet up or even know of each other. The early to mid fifties with the founding of EC comics fandom, is generally considered the rudimentary start of the beginnings of comic advocacy or fandom. As far as founders (using the word loosely) of comic fandom I don't know if you can go back much further than that. Of course if one is just referring to collectors, and not organized comic fandom, then maybe Lamont Larson? Or Recil Macon or Tom Reilly? I can not think of a earlier well known collectors then them, aside from Church.
  9. Bruce Hamilton, Steve Geppi ,Ernie Gerber, Don and Maggie Thompson, G.B. Love, Robert Bell, Burt Blum, Steve Borock, and Paul Levitz. Jerry Bails, w/o a doubt. A first (no brainier) ballot choice.
  10. What about Metropolis? Sold the first million dollar comic. Had a (small) part in the implementation of third party grading. Continues to advance the art form and collecting through exhibits, galleries, and through nation wide publicity in newspapers and on the radio.
  11. Were the editors or whoever was involved in this cover really oblivious to the dialouge? Or was it purposeful? Them having a private joke.
  12. On higher grade GA or earlier SA books, I would not approve. On high BA books, I don't take it as seriously. Not saying I would do it, but then again i might under the right circumstances, but if someone wants to do it to something they own, then go ahead.
  13. It's the people that are not peaceful. Most religions preach peace. If the members don't adhere to it...
  14. Sad. Seems as if he lived according to his beliefs. Not everyone can say that. Sincere, genuine person. His Spider-Man art may be the gold standard among OA.
  15. Nice books Brando. Those Actions from that time period are one of my collecting sweet spots.
  16. If the political, social and/or religious content of a piece contradicts my beliefs, then I will not buy it. The artists views are a secondary consideration, though I would shy away from a piece if his or her views were seriously adverse to mine.
  17. ENDING TOMORROW. If any of ya'll are so inclined... Wear those blue light blocking glasses. Those blue lights from the computers and laptops and phones are killing your eyes.
