  1. This is one of the best threads I have seen on here. Great idea. I personally would have made it around $600 or less, but it's still a fine thread.
  2. GL 76 had a larger impact upon the comic community then HOS 92.
  3. On a related note, anyone ever hear of a Frank Robbins Johnny Hazzard Sunday going for over 1K? This one went for about $1025. I was the under bidder and really wanted it and did not expect it to go for more then around $500-$600 when it opened up for bidding. Original Comic Art: Comic Strip ArtFrank Robbins Johnny HazardSunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 9-4-55 (King Features Syndicate, 1955).... So
  4. Alive - Barry Smith Conan piece. Ditko Spier-man cover. Alex Ross Spider-man movie upside kiss scene. No longer with us- Matt Baker pencils, Nick Cardy inks of a St. John romance cover. Curt Swan Action or Superman cover.
  5. I sold it about 7 years ago. It was about 1/4 inch wider than the American copies. Which meant it had a little more art to the right side of the cover. I am guessing that the Mexican artists, or whoever, added that art. I doubt Marvel cropped the art from Kirby's original pencils and Ditko's inks on. Still, they needed to add it, because if they didn't the right side portion of the cover that was that 1/4 of an inch wider would have been blank space otherwise.
  6. Not an AF 15, but a Mexican Amazing Spider-man No. 1, dated a few months after the Ameican version hit the stands. Around 25 years ago. Got it from a guy who sold it out of a stack of other comics he had in his basement. In Brooklyn, NY. It was about a 7.0. I paid $100.
  7. I like reading most of them. Some suck, but most were ahead of their time in some ways. I forgot the writer's name, Dana something? He was a good writer for those times.
  8. But if enough people comment on what cover, I will get that one done, regardless if it is my top 10 list or not, as I like all Baker romance covers.
  9. That's a good one. Not surprised. But for some reason, it does not personally attract me as much as about maybe 10 or 12 others.
  10. You got it. I will post it here if I ever get it done, which I think I will. It may take a while... Any suggestions on what cover? I am open to anyone else giving a suggestion on what cover and maybe even what artists to seek out to do it.
  11. Gives me an idea to see if I can commission a couple of artists to mimic their styles as a penciler and inker for a cover or a panel page.
  12. I sometimes wonder how Baker romance would have looked inked by Cardy, my second favorite artist when drawing woman.
  13. Baker romance art has become some of my favorite comics ever. Big change when as a kid in the late 60's when iI would not even look at romance comics.
  14. Great job for lending so much of your fine Romita art Mike. Who organized this event; got it going?
