There are some really ridiculous covers from the late 50's and early 60's, hard not to make fun of them.

"It isn't part of the show!"  Gee, ya think?  Of course it's part of the show, we always tour with a 30-foot-tall rampaging monster!

I've always loved this one, finally was able to purchase a nice example.

I mean, who doesn't love Manoo?  Although he is a doofus, I mean, there's his ship right there in the backround, and he says he's found Earthlings AT LAST??  How long has his ship been 75 yards away from a school??

Those are some severe examples, I've seen them of course but those are really pronounced.  It's understandable why this would mitigate the pleasure of showing off one's collection if they evinced such dramatic prism/Newton effects.
