  1. My dim recollection is that folks were not rushing out to hoard nyx 3s. I remember the rack at midtown being full of unsold copies (and it was not wed) and me noticing the interesting cover but deciding to pass. I subsequently fished 3 copies over the course of a few months out of my lcs 3 for $2 box, so it was not a big seller for him either. That probably doesn't change the analysis. Nm 98 had a big run relative to a third tier 2004 title. How big we do not know. RMa has written a treatise on it.

  6. A great book, but technically I don't think the middle one is a picture frame. It is a different cover format marvel used for a bit. Does it have a nickname?
  7. Awesome updates. Man oh man if I could rent a storefront for $700 a month in any viable locale around here I'd probably be all over it, although a shop that opens at 5:45 or whenever I get home from work may not be viable.
  8. Wish I could take them but I have a big deadline tomorrow. Oh well, life is cruel.
  9. Well the pads and phones ipods had not happened at 96 cents a share on 2000 early 2001. Can't remember exactly when iPods came out. I know I bought my wife a $150 one that soon became redundant when she had it on her iPhone. At least my kid used it too. Anyway, it is moot as I would have sold in Nov 2006 when I bought my house unless it was in my 401k.
  10. If I was betting on a tech company bouncing back it should have been apple and not razorfish. Oh regrets...
  11. I just say "make and offer" and forget about the other nonsense
  12. Apple was under $1 in the early 2000s. Over $200 now. This depresses me. I invested in Razorfish in around 2001 after it went from $100 a share to under $1 because it posted its first profit and I thought that would be the tech stock that would bounce back. Went private a bit later and I got 24 cents a share. Razorfish was a biiiiig deal in 2000. I'd have over $200K in apple stock with the $1000 I put into Razorfish. And I won't talk about Amazon at the IPO because I was not buying individual stocks in 1997, but in 2001 I was looking for a depressed tech stock to take a chance on. Why didn't I pick Apple???? Admittedly, at the same time (or maybe a little later) I did well on QQQ doubling 4 years after I bought it.
  13. I have hundreds, maybe thousands of them, but the dang slabs don't fit!
  14. I hear you on cutting cardboard, but Amazon sends 4 foot square boxes to ship a pair of ear pods, there is so much cardboard in my house. right now I have a short box of pre-cut cardboard ready if I ever start selling in volume again as well as about 100 gemini mailers left from 200 I ordered late last year. I have been waiting for an ebay coupon or ebay bucks to buy more.
  15. Remember, "mint condition" does not mean much on these new books, even if you are right and they would grade out as 9.8s. The bulk of these books were bagged and boarded and should be in the 9.6-9.8 range.
  16. Wowzers. What does it take to be a 3.0? Could at least say "qualified VG-"
  17. Agreed. I have sold quite a few GA books missing a wrap and am amazed at what % of "good" (OPG) some folks were paying and these were not rare or key books. post 1945 GA captain marvels, batman, action, etc,
  18. These are all dark horse? Even in mint condition, raw, it is unlikely any of those books fetch more than cover price and, in reality, likely less. Slabbing them is a waste of time as slab sales barely exceed the cost of slabbing. Just look up completed ebay sales for "conan cgc 9.8 dark horse". Only a few issues break $25.
  19. I had never really actively read the X-Men and saw this cover: And was hooked. Probably bought every issue over the next 2 years, even got a subscription! Then video games, sports, and being a teenager kicked in and I sort of lost interest in comics for almost 10 years. If there had not been a shop on the way home when I was in law school I might have never gotten back into it. I might have anyway though as my younger brother was collecting a little when I moved home back from college and I was reading his stuff.
  20. For real, you can get a green label with missing story pages? At what point can you just submit the cover?
  21. Local bookstore had a huge stack of this issue in the magazine section. Was tempted, but it does not seem to sell over cover and the cover did not grab me. I got the Hillary cli ton mad max cover a few years ago because it was hilarious
  22. Isn't vigilante in green arrow? I know, not idiris. Played by a nobody like most DC tv baddies. Marvel gets award winners for those roles -- Sigourney, dinofrio, Ali, what's her name, David tenet... Dc, not so much.
  23. I would not stick a book inside the gemini mailer without it being inside a sandwich. There is too much wiggle room inside the mailer.
