  1. nahh, silver surfer was trying to take advantage of the 1960s surfing craze and RR was taking advantage of the late 70s skateboarding with big headphones on craze. totally different.
  2. don't worry, the feta will be seriously baked in a stuffed eggplant and fed to my wife
  3. did they whitewash rocket racer?? this is the guy i grew up with
  4. I have some feta from 2021 that got pushed to the back of the cheese drawer, gonna use it shortly'
  5. Does anyone buy there? I probably haven't looked for 2 or 3 years, there are only 363 stores there now, which I don't think is much different then back then. Newkada has 168,000 listings and only seems to sell about 200 comics a month?
  6. Rocker Racer! And not because I have 15 copies of his 1st app...
  7. I got addicted to free comiccon passes, but my industry connection hasn't gone for a couple of years. my kids are not happy.
  8. I already got my second round of covid last week, so I'm ready to get into cramped spaces with other mouth breathing dorks, I figure it'll be another year until I get covid again
  9. Easy come, easy go. I need to do a bit of Marie Kondoing in my comic areas. I let it get a bit out of control and there is a room in my house I want to turn into an art studio (for me), lego building/display area (for my kids), and possibly a little work out corner and home office. That might be more than the room I had in mind where about 6,000 comics currently live. Are shows doing better now that there is a little less luster in online selling with more IRS reporting (and less Covid concern?) or are they not because there is less of an online market to flip show purchases to?
  10. I guess I need an avatar because the T looks dumb, although people made fun of my last one and the one before that.
  11. If you are a flipper know your Comic Book salad days (daze) of 2020-early 2022 of raking in easy fast cash across the board are not coming back for at least a decade or more. ---- ok, yeah, we may not see 2020-21 again, but stuff was getting pretty interesting before covid too, I can see whatever fun was going in in 2018-2019 coming back. It was a long bull market and got even crazier in 2020-21. Frankly, aside from any bubble, I have to wonder if the tax reporting threshold dropping so far just had people leave. Aside from health, family issues, and my work exploding, I just didn't want to deal with that hassle on my taxes, so I stopped selling (and stopped buying). It has probably been discussed here (I've been out of the loop for a while). Uncle Joe could score some popularity points bringing it up to $6000 or $9000.
  12. With inflation at 10% shouldn't all our collections be worth 10% more?
  13. So you're telling me it isn't 2021 anymore and my random long boxes of mixed junk aren't worth $5K anymore? That's depressing. I guess I shouldn't have disappeared.
  14. It was kind of speculated on, like Alpha Flight 1 at the time, gotta think that is going to make it hard go get too high. I suppose in 9.8 anything is possible though.
  15. we entered a bear market in march 2020, it did not last that long. but now we have oil prices pushing issues.
  16. yes. now i just need to find the password to get into my retirement account... unfortunately i am trying to sell my mother's apartment. it took a long time to get the probate stuff through and then a neighbor jerked me around and backed out. the timing is not great now.
  17. Personally, the dip was so big today I am tempted to go back all in the market right now as 85% of my 401K has been sitting in money market funds for quite a while. I know there may be more bottom to this, but timing the bottom is still awfully hard. But to put things in perspective, with dividend reinvestment, the market is still up 22.7% since january 2020, making for an 8.84% annual return even though 2022 has been horrible. I was so timid I missed out on most of the gains of 2019-2021 sitting on the sidelines expecting a long term crash.
  18. could it be that they did not know if he would become a regular in the marvel super hero world and this might have just been another fantasy/sci fi backup story like ST, TTA, JIM, etc. had before they became all super hero?
