  1. I have nearly all of those marvel premieres except that one!!
  2. I totally missed the 'FSSW" reference, I thought we were still talking about SIKTC
  3. I knew nothing about the book. I saw that cover and said "that is a frigging cool cover" and bought it. I almost never do that.
  4. the market has spoken and apparently it prefers the boring krappy cover for reasons entirely unclear to me
  5. Byrne and, arguably, Miller were THE artists of the copper age, so maybe they really started it back in 77 or 79...
  6. I have tons of Incognito. Another one that is currently dead. You'd think not having a lot of material would make it harder for a TV show, but Jupiters Legacy happened and there are what, maybe 15 total books? Happy was actually a fun show and that was loosely based on what, 4 issues? Another one that is dead. I found all my copies after the show was over.
  7. No. Better than that. The filler books seem to be $5-10 now, with lots getting $5 maybe more a book, more or less. I'd buy them all day at $1-2. And I understand a $5 sale on a $2 purchase is maybe not so exciting, but the fact that these sell as lots pretty well at a good price and there are mini keys scattered in there that might be quicker $8-15 sales make even the filler worth buying. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=invincible+lot+image&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=invincible+66&_osacat=0&LH_Complete=1&LH_Sold=1
  8. I dunno, I have one up and haven't gotten a low ball offer yet
  9. I think folks eagerly await season 2. Question is, how long the wait? I think 144 issues will take a lot longer than 3 short seasons.
  10. Disney sure is starting to re-use their actors in different platforms & franchises (Disney, Disney+, ABC, Marvel, Star Wars, etc).--- that has been their thing. build loyalty. play nice on one marvel/disney project and you have a decent shot at getting another one down the road. That's why you know Dr. Aphra is most likely Chloe Bennett and, if not her, Jessica Henwick (I think Bennett looks the part a bit more). Henwick already had small parts in Star Wars movies, so that might be an issue, that would be re-use within the same universe. Stark contrast to DC/Warner. Marvel realizes it has a pretty darn good Murdock/DD in Charlie Cox. Why re-cast him when DD comes to the movies? Would DC/Warner EVER do that? Sure, DC did it with Routh, Shipp, Slater, and Cain, but those were old folks playing old folks. Dunno if Mehcad Brooks being in Mortal COmabt had anything to do with it or how involved Warner was in that.
  11. I guess the Usaji special #1 paid for the day. The Black Cross can be hit or miss,. Did not know the Echo or Gore Shriek until now.
  12. Ouch. OK, you win! So far all my 9.8s have been pretty perfect, maybe a little bit going on with the spine corners, but that could have happened in the slab. I don't think those tics could have happened in the slab.
  13. I sold the book in like 2006 when the movie hype was building. Do you think I kept the pictures? I was shocked as this was the first modern/copper 9.4 I had ever bought. The guy who bought it was seemingly buying hundreds of slabbed ASM 300s. And he had a scam going to squeeze another $15 refund out of each seller: he'd claim the slab was cracked and wanted a reholder fee. It seemed fishy, so i e-mailed a bunch of people he had bought from and it turned out he was doing it to everyone. I offered to take the book back, I wasn't going to get extorted, and I never heard back. Anyway, it turns out this guy was a genius if he held on to most of them.
  14. There's a fair amount of subjectivity. I have cgc books to compare to and this looks better than the 6.5 and 7.0 which have color breaking creases, but I have a very nice 7.0 this looks worse, but the 7.0 looks better than my 8.5. So, I figure a CGC 6.0 or 6.5 most likely and a PGX 7.0 or 7.5 with Voldy being any of those. I presently have no slabbed magazines to compare it to and all my mid grade books like that have white back covers, so I don't know what CGC does with the back cover color rubs. I think I have 5 copies of this book all in about the same shape, so I figured I would post one. Maybe I experiment with one and send it to the voldemort "raw" grading service, which seems like a total failure given how few of those books are being sold on ebay.
  15. I have never owned a 5.0 that did not look significantly worse than this.
  16. seriously, the deadpool rookie card nonsense is back? I was late to the party last time and my dreams of selling these for $20-25 each were smashed and I wound up selling them for under $9 each, but now they're back up to $20+??? https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=x-force+1+deadpool+card&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
  17. Not much, typically under $10. I guess the feeling is that once all the cheap copies on ebay get bought up then prices can go up over $10. If there is a flurry of buying that can happen.
  18. so, DC went down to 12 titles or something and now they're going to jump back in with milestone? they need to get their act together.
  19. How does anyone prove what was unsold, that's my point? This book was an easy $10+ sell Wed evening. Wouldn't shops just have said they sold out and then sold them on different accounts or have an employee sell their copies. I should have taken 20 copies and shoved them in some obscure part of the back issue bins and come back later. If I was actually working near the shop still rather than working from home and this being a 2 hour round trip for me I probably would have.
  20. Action 9 New 52 and Final Crisis 7 have percolated again. It doesn't seem that the movie ambiguity has hurt them. I got back copies that were returned after they got damaged in shipping and it looks like I will get as much for them damaged as I did when they were high grade. I was in such a mad rush to get rid of my many copies of #9 when it looked like the hype had faded for for 3 minutes
  21. That is crazy. There were numerous $1 sales the day of release. It would not surprise me if someone from the publisher or someone with 500 copies is pumping up auctions. Why would shops have sent them back at the end of the day? Why not claim they all sold and sell them under a different account. I dumped mine quick, figuring this made no sense when here were huge stacks of the book sitting there at the shop, but what do I know? very little it seems.
