  1. It isn't that I never had any interest before, but it was mostly about buying at cover price and selling for $30. And while I know there are 9.9s out there, there is something psychologically appealing about that 9.8.
  2. No, I don't think i can flip it for that much right now, after fees I don't think I'd make anything. I'm thinking a bit longer term. Low print run book, seemingly not pumped up in current hysteria, title I like. I just wish I had been thinking about it a couple of weeks ago. After some more back and forth he is $35 below the MCS price, so I guess $25 less than the price on their website. While we are $20 more than the SS sold for just last week, I will probably give in, particularly if I make some sales tonight. Just need to sell some more MCP 72s. None of the 9.8s I have been buying lately are flips after I pay fees. I should be putting this money into paying off my HELO or fixing my roof. That's the thing about buying 9.8s. There's not much subjectivity. Sellers can see the last few sales, so can buyers, we're not quibling over whether a book may actually be a VF, the only issue is whether we think the next round of sales is going to jack things up. Folks prices 50-75% above most recent sales are just waiting for the market to catch up. It is weird, for a long time I had little interest in modern 9.8s, now I am keenly interested in a few select books if I don't feel like I am overpaying.
  3. i wonder what happened April 22, but yeah, $60 is the low end of the sales that year. $100 seemed more sensible.
  4. While $400 seems like a lot given what else you can get for $400 right now, $60-70 seemed lowish. It is a 37 year old book, I'm guessing 9.8s are getting harder and harder.Spidey's face is really poorly drawn.
  5. You may have no interest, but right now there may be a lot more money in recent (post 1980) stuff than buying piles of Dells from the 50s-70s.
  6. The attitude that everything is going up 30% next week pervades everything. I am looking at a 9 8 that had sold for $260-270 the last 3 auctions and BINs over the last 1-3 weeks. Every current BIN is prices $90-140+++ more than that. So I make offers at a little above the sales results. Most of the BINs auto reject. One guy does counter. But he was the highest already and just countered with what the lowest BIN out there was. I don't think offering a little above the 3 sales results (one SS) was unreasonable. But folks want 30% more.
  7. 200+ shipments with Gemini mailers and I got my first ones damaged. I can't figure out if it was the sandwhich I made inside the mailer or whatever, but corners got scrunched. Might not have happened if I double boarded each book as well as the sandwhich. really annoying. So now I have my Final Crisis 7 and Action 9 back, but they're mid-grade rather than the high grade copies i sent out. Maybe I need to learn how to press?
  8. I am inclined to agree. This way they still keep regular superman. And maybe they team up at some point if people like Ellis. Popping in and out of the multiverse is really easy. And they can do an "Earth" with less baggage. And maybe a Supergirl/Power Girl.
  9. My last invoice was $267. that's a lot for me. They just switched me to managed payments, so I guess the next one won't be as jarring.
  10. I am not going to "see" anything in either set of pictures over the internet
  11. "moisture content".. hmm... do any of the pages stick together?
  12. CGC 9.6 or PGX 9.8 at the same price, where would you go?
  13. Most New Guard don't know how to do it either. But doesn't a partial coin cost $25 or something to transfer?
  14. the guy who finds the shill bidding should do this. he is very methodical. anyone but me. yeah, i definitely feel tempted on some of the 9.6 books. i might be able to afford my goon 1 in 9.6, although 9.4 is more realistic. and at 9.4 you do sometimes get some books that have issues.
  15. If someone could please do an analysis of the trends on 100 or so books and whether gains in 9.6 have matched 9.8 gains i would love to see it. It does "feel" like the 9.8s have popped more, but that is totally anecdotal.
  16. that is lower than ebay sales this year: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=goon+1+avatar+cgc+9.8&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1
  17. Someone with GPA will know, but I don't think that is a huge jump from a previous high from well before 2021 (at least not compared to other 2021 jumps). I was looking at a thread in like 2010 and it sounded like it was going into four digits then.
  18. Wrightson and kaluta, I think, did some nice ones too, though the market is non hysterical about them
  19. No. Hideous 1/4 inch white spine miswraps are a turn off.
  20. If it is otherwise perfect in could see 9.0 or 9.2 if it is not bad. I had a 9.4 asm 300 with at least 5 cb spine ticks. I sold it for $99 because I thought it was terribly overgraded. Stupid.
  21. wallis day is super hot, so that works. i would like to watch this. i got sidetracked around episode 7 or something. i did find the alice stuff a bit monotonous.
  22. A little bit, sure. But there is no precise ratio for sure. And what do you mean by "lower"? 2.0 or 9.6?
