  1. you need to learn how to look up the actual accepted price on a best offer. click on the original listing in bold. control U. then find "taxex" in the code. the top two sold for $12K and and $11956. the $12K book has writing on the cover. I have no idea how it got a 9.0. and miswrapped.
  2. yes, 3PG is the guy I knew. he was a friend of a friend.
  3. I just paid 69 cents pound for Perdue chicken legs. And that is in New York CIty. Not everything is in hyperinflation.
  4. you guys are so neat and tidy. mine is still a mess.
  5. not talking about franklin mint type guys, i am talking about guys selling rolls of morgan dollars, claiming they must all be super high grade, pointing to some website to claim they're worth $500 each, but they will wholesale them to you for $300 each in quantity (I'm making up numbers, i have no idea what morgan dollars go for and it will depend on the year)
  6. well, I am thinking of the guys on the shopping channels with the coin shows touting their coins as being super duper great and you can re-sell them for so much more..... if you have guys on TV selling the stuff for $50, $50 kind of becomes the ceiling for anything though...the same guys also did sports cards ... almost never dabbled in comics thankfully
  7. I have to sell my one remaining copy. Too bad I saved the low grade one. insufficiently_thoughtful_person.
  8. the hulk book is surprising. that has been a known book for a long time, quite possibly since the 70s.
  9. OK, but Batroc was a pretty regular cap opponent for a while. He's a fighter, just like the guy who played him. Paste Pot eventually gets a costume/apparatus that makes sense. Somehow this guy appeared almost 200 times in Marvel comics. Also, no way Batroc is actually dead. It would be silly to kill him off.
  10. sure, i just yanked an FF annual 6 out of my boxes that I am sure was a $1-3 purchase. But that was not much of anything until a few years ago.
  11. I bought similar beat up copies of the Batman and Spotlight for $2 back in the day (1990s). Not the other two though.
  12. Nothing stops you. It is in a mylar, so resealing this might be a bit more visible. Basically something like this just makes folks feel more comfortable with the grade and resto. Same seller reputation, same apparent scans, whose book would a buyer have more confidence in? It is a $10 or $15 service depending on the book, so folks buying will feel more comfortable taking the book out. Of course, the problem is, I might feel like a certain ebayer is not a scammer who would do a switcheroo, but how do I know if they bought the book from someone who is a scammer?
  13. OK, maybe anecdotal, so folks are paying $185 for an aliens 1 that isn't even described as NM, yet a #2 first print is still $10 or less? https://www.ebay.com/itm/333958227538?hash=item4dc1762652%3Ag%3AJ2QAAOSwXKhgdeoH&nma=true&si=BZbpsjZvXBDBh7scMVfgI%2BAabNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Was #1 short printed or something? Wow, no love for second appearances. Probably time for me to list me #1 (s), though i hate to break up the sets, although I guess 2 - 6 can be sold as a set for $40-50 or so.
  14. You don't like they nazi phallus coming directly for their rear ends?
  15. It was workmanlike albeit a bit generic when he cared, a poor man's version of his brother
  16. No. He was fine in the 60s, the 70s, and at some point in the 80s he did not give half a s&&&t, but they still kept on hiring him.
  17. No. That's his style now. Almost a charicature of his early 80s style... Like he took his occasional bungled figure and made it worse. Some of his stuff 40 years ago was beautiful
  18. Oh I think they're cool, but I am almost 50. I don't know if geriatrics like me are pushing this stuff. With that said, most folks hear coins and think of these hucksters on TV who make the comic guys we sneer at for being shady look like paragons of virtue.
  19. Seriously, he has to devote a whole arm to the paste pot. Nobody thought to put the tank on his back, really?
  20. Are the avatar goons a bit off their peaks of a few years ago? I love powell, but the guy is really good at killing momentum. Goon should be having its 200th issue around now. Instead powell got distracted a few dozen times.
  21. Coins are boring. Like stamps. Comics are cool. Coins are for 70 year olds.
  22. Totally different. Indeed, the hobgoblin bio gives you seizures it is so complicated. GG is all Osborne.
