Wouldn't Olivia Colman be playing any Queen? Isn't that basically all she does? -

honestly, watching cuoco do physical dramedy on the flight attendant I have to wonder if she would have been better in the live action role than robbie, who definitely does look perfect in it and got it right about half the time in birds of prey. i hope DC doesn't give up on her just becauase BOP did a bad box office. I think they marketed it poorly and covid being around the corner probably didn't help matters at all. but Warner is a bunch of chickensh*ts, so now they're giving up on the character. -
Have You Ever Bought Anything From A Comic Book Ad?
The Less Blob replied to marvelmaniac's topic in Comics General
Sea Monkeys. Not me, my older brother. I also sent away for that poster that was always advertised in the ads in marvel comics in the early 80s. was it $1 or something? No, I never got it. -
people that actually make $150 profit a year hustling krap on ebay don't want to spend 6 hours determining their profit for the year, it isn't evil, it's just a headache, if you're selling $12K a year in stuff and likely making a profit in the 4 digits it is another issue.

So basic stores in exchange for doing managed payments now get 1000 fixed listings? (It looks like in addition to the 350?)... But the way it appears on the dashboard this doesn't seem like a long term thing. The last thing I want to do is put the hours into a 1000+ listing store and then have them go back to 350 and I pay extra. -

I guess I am selling too much not to be a business. But it isn't like I'm not getting charged sales tax anymore, right? -
I threw ASM 137 out there as an example of a secondary semi-key. I always thought these books were cool when I was a kid. I think it has to be connected to something in the movies or current shows, mostly. Hero for Hire 1 is practically selling for what it was when the TV show hit, for example. Not a terrible copy of ASM 135 for $46 + shipping: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-135-Great-Condition-2nd-Appearance-of-the-Punisher-/265111493115?hash=item3db9e059fb%3Ag%3AwyQAAOSwpNtgaQQG&nma=true&si=BZbpsjZvXBDBh7scMVfgI%2BAabNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Still the vast bulk of BA and SA in mid-grade and below is selling for a fraction of guide. Yes, I know guide is outdated, but still.

I like Star Trek discovery, but CBS needs to deliver me a sextuple espresso before each episode. I can't watch it with my wife (and she loves Star Trek) because she falls asleep half way through each episode. Picard we were better at staying awake for. -

the moon knight special editions are all of a sudden expensive already, shang chi or not. its almost like folks don't realize they are reprints and they are ignoring the original source material in the hulk mag -

What's the ceiling on Special Marvel Edition 15?
The Less Blob replied to drmanhattanite's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
Special Edition has already had its upward movement. putting aside 9.8s, but 9.4s, a grade that isn't that hard, I owned about 5-7 copies that could be 9.4s on any given day, are $2K. there's a limit. These numbers seem to be based purely on the fact that this is a big marvel movie, presumed to have a billion $ box office via china, and very little to do with genuine interest as a comic book property, unlike GS X-Men 1 and FF 48, which were worth something before any movies (though FF 48 was certainly helped) because folks genuinely loved the characters. A few middle aged guys though MOKF was a good read back in the day, but, without a movie nobody cares. Is he at least going to be a SHIELD operative or something? And Awkwafina? She's kind of amusing, but zero, I mean zero, sex appeal. Are Chinese audiences going to like her? Falah Chen is more traditionally gorgeous, but at 39, i dunno. I love michelle yeoh, so I'm all in I guess. -

is anyone going to read shang chi comics? nobody ever did before. ultimately doesn't that have some impact on comic prices? do we think chinese collectors are buying cases of these? the movie is not going to do that well here, it will probably in china. didn't chinese market research decide that they don't think the actor is handsome enough? https://www.cinemablend.com/news/2478214/marvels-shang-chi-people-actually-think-simu-liu-is-too-ugly-to-play-the-hero I have no way to judge, he seems good looking to me -

recent sale for $7500 for a 9.8 tells me there is no upside, but then again, i am the guy who sold all of his years early -
I'll be honest, I'm a cheapskate, but I see plenty of books on ebay I would buy at the prices listed or a likely accepted best offer, but adding $5-10 shipping just makes it not worth it. These are books I think are underpriced or have upside, but, realistically, if I am buying a book for $25, paying $7 shipping and 8.5+% sales tax, it needs to be fully 50% undervalued to even break even if i wanted to resell it and that's my main guideline .. could I get my money back if I needed to sell it now?

I had some long boxes of comics in my parents' garage in the back. Without telling me they decided to move them to the front. Well, there was a big storm, some water leaked under the garage door and I had 3 long boxes of ruined comics. thanks mom! luckily they were junk comics at the time, but who the heck knows? this was 15+ years ago, i have no idea if I threw out current treasures.
