  1. I'm the Blog now? You think my posts are too wordy? I'm fat. I will keep on calling myself the Blob as long as I am fat. This past summer I was within 25 pounds of getting rid of the name, but I skrewed that up starting in September.
  2. why is MTU 1 expensive? Why is anything? 1st issue of a series that lasted 141 issues? Unlike PPS, was not a huge spec issue (notwithstanding the guy who owns 500 copies, I think that is more a labor of love/mental health thing) Almost 50 years old Yes, the black cover seems to make high grade harder and that helps My guess is that a Defenders 1 in 9.8 approaches $1K and it is like the 5th appearance of the Defenders. No good reason that cover should be so hard in 9.8, but I don't see many) Ghost Rider 1 in 9.8 is thousands and it is like the 9th appearance of GR (I don't think the $ is in the Hellstrom cameo)
  3. they were actually selling for a while there. dunno about now, but they were selling for $3-5 a pop at some point when most moderns couldn't crack $2
  4. This is because people new to the hobby think 50% gains every 2-3 months is normal. I personally hate the hot and cold that goes on, even if I do like the fact that my books are generally worth more. The Black superman books were on fire a couple of weeks ago. What the heck happened?
  5. It is a DC, so it will be hot for 33 seconds. Then again, it is Batman, so maybe it will last.
  6. that is the April 2020 version of a valuable comic. 5 years ago when previously run of the mill books went over $300 in 9.8 folks were in a tizzy. Most of our income levels have not gone up much in 5 years, just perceptions of what is valuable.
  7. what do you consider expensive? #1 is a $1300 book in 9.4: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Team-Up-1-CGC-9-4-White-Pages-1972-1st-Misty-Knight-Older-CGC-Label-/164806845217?hash=item265f40e321%3Ag%3AWxUAAOSwIytgJhj0&nma=true&si=BZbpsjZvXBDBh7scMVfgI%2BAabNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Maybe $3K+++ in 9.8 (even if you go by march prices, still around $1000 in 9.4) #3 in 9.8 for $920 131 sold for $900 in 9.8 (three times) and $1100 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Team-Up-131-CGC-9-8-1st-appearance-of-the-White-Rabbit-1983-/124486569402?hash=item1cfbfa4dba%3Ag%3AsGIAAOSwH-Rf14Qt&nma=true&si=BZbpsjZvXBDBh7scMVfgI%2BAabNw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Marvel-Team-Up-131-cgc-9-8-1st-appearance-of-the-White-Rabbit-WHITE-pg-Spiderman/124571660053?hash=item1d010caf15:g:fKcAAOSw1VFgJyC~ 2, 4, 53, 65, 95, and 141 and Annual 1 are probably around $400-500 in 9.8, and around $150ish in 9.4, although a 65 in 9.8 sold for $800
  8. Marvel team up 1 is expensive. You have the white rabbit issue, mockingbird, and 141(?)
  9. I feel like action 1 was $10k in mint in our first opg from 77 Or 78
  10. Folks can look up 154 and see it is expensive. All the 150s are at a premium.
  11. was there an advertised grade on the auction? were the scans clear?
  12. they're all pretty mushy from 5.5 to 7.5 or so.
  13. what about the ugly yellow stain right next to cap's shield on the graded book? the back on the slabbed book looks better, true, but the front should have more weight in the process.
  14. Pants? What are those? Didn't we stop wearing pants in March 2020?
  15. Most BA Batmans don't seem too excited right now: https://www.ebay.com/sch/33808/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=batman&LH_TitleDesc=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1&_pgn=3
  16. that was actually right before elfquest first appeared. so she was a cosplay fan dressing up at conventions who made her dream of creating a comic a reality, awesome. 30+ years later, 20 million comics, GNs, books, etc.
  17. $200 for a cgc 9.4 SS Liefield in January and $275 in March. $470 for a Stan Lee one in March (a book he had nothing to do with, dumb). McFarlane SSs listed in $400s. Doesn't look like the Liefield sig helps as much as others. Sounds like it is going up? Regular 9.8s around $800ish. What was it before Deadpool 2? We now expect every 1st CA key to be $1000-2000 in 9.8 and to have doubled in the last 3 months. That is crazy.
  18. Not always, Not for nearly the first 15-20 years of its life.
  19. yes, i drag it out every few weeks. can't win them all.
  20. It is a tricky one, but they'll figure it out. GOTG 7 or something.
  21. 155, like conan 275, has a cover that catches attention. Would not surprise me if there were fewer newsstand returns. Not sure if shops were ordering extras of last issues of dead titles thougg. This wasn't new mutants 100 with a reboot coming
  22. I have to sell a lot of thundercats to make up for that
  23. If he can turn them into $1-3 each it is a nice project for him. He has a better camera phone than I do.
