I've read an Action 1, so I suppose that counts.

There is speculation and investing in a sure thing.
Modern books are tricky. I am a huge Spidey fan but have not read a Spidey comic that has come out in the past 20 years. Why? It is all rehash of older original material, in some way. Granted, there are a few newer storylines that are interesting but not as much as Silver or Bronze Age Spider-Man for me.
Red Goblin, to me, looked absolutely hideous. Poorly drawn, ugly covers. As a collector, I have zero desire for that book. Maybe some day, he appears in a show or movie ans we see his first appearance bump up a bit, sure. That is commonplace now with comics. But if you want to put money somewhere smarter, invest in original characters. Like Green Goblin of Hobgoblin. Both are great characters, albeit one is an offshoot of the other, but was done very well. They will always be collectible and stand a better chance of being more valuable. More of a sure thing.
Another thing to consider is do people care? When Red Goblin first came out, yes people bought that book. But I feel now nobody cares about him because it was a ho hum  character in a ho hum  story. What people do care about is something like Immortal Hulk. Every issues of that arc has been great, artwork is also very very good. It is a series that has staying power because it is well done and because it could also someday be adapted to the silver/small screen. More of a sure thing there as well.
But hey, if you love Red Goblin and believe in it, go for it. You could be the guy 20-25 years from now with 100 copies all worth $100-200 bucks each and be laughing. You could also be the guy with 100 copies worth maybe $200 bucks total. Invest in sure things, not speculation unless you are prepared to have some misses when speculating.

I saw an Action Comics #3 with a coupon cut from the back cover and a large piece missing from the top of the front cover and the 1st 3 pages receive a blue label 1.0. So as long as this book is complete on the inside, it should conceivably be awarded at least a Universal 1.0 (as long as there's no restoration, married pages, spine splits, other parts missing, tape, etc). So I'll amend my grade to reflect this determination...

Books that have established records...like Preacher...will, barring total collapse, come around again.
I bought my copy of Turtles #1 for $66 shipped off of eBay in the spring of 1999.
That was *after* it was a $300-$500 book in the early 90s.

I’m bored so I looked at what’s available for the person with a cool $1.2M to spend right now on just eBay:
    There’s a CBCS 9.0 prof.restored Action 1 on eBay for $525,000.
    Batman 1 CGC 6.0 universal for $357,500.
Im up to $882,500. Still got money to burn.
    Superman 1 CGC 8.5 moderate restored $260,000
    $1,142,500, we aren’t done.
Amazing Fantasy 15 CGC 5.5 Universal
    $59,000 obo
    $1,201,500
The best offers will undoubtedly keep me well under $1.2M.
So instead of a New Teen Titans 6 cover over a marvel book graded a Qualified 7.5... I’ve now procured, by shopping available listings on eBay only:
    Action Comics 1 9.0 restored
    Batman 1 CGC 6.0 Universal
    Superman 1 CGC 8.5 restored
Amazing Fantasy 15 CGC 5.5 Universal

If I had over a million to spend on comics I’d be looking at Action 1-level GA keys.
This frankenbook is a $15 conversation piece at best.

There is a competitor to CGC and it is not PGX. So no need to praise PGX simply for the anti-monopoly argument.
If you prefer to root for the underdog, try CBCS, just be prepared to wait a long time. I use both because I like both CGC and CBCS.
No need to choose between Chevy and Ford, get both. Take turns with each. It's all good.
Following the car analogy, PGX is the Yugo of the slabbing market. Get one if you want, I'm not interested.

That Venom comic is an AMC Theater exclusive that came with a ticket on opening weekend. I got a few of them. It does not leave any cliffhangers to be continued at your local comic shop. It's entirely movie-focused.
The actual Venom comic series active at release and still active now is entirely unrelated to the movie's Venom.
A Venom limited series continuing off of a movie-exclusive book available in print and digital (purchased through a QR code on the movie book) would have been a good idea.

Joosh reacted to KPR Comics in I have a question on how CGC counts pages
A page is a page.  It's one side of a leaf.  1/4 of a wrap.  When they say Page 5, it's page 5 of the story (i believe).  When they say 5th page, it is the 5th page of the book.   The two are sometimes the same, but not always.  Ad pages typically are not counted as Pagex; however, they can be the Xth page.  Hope that makes sense.

Found this at a convention last year in the $1 or $2 boxes. Was feeling pretty happy at the time; recently found it again and noticed it’s a Newsstand.
Also noticed the UPC box says “Spider-Man Family”.
