It's especially hard to understand why people who aren't desperate for the cash flow from quick flipping pay more for 'fast' tiers when they can save significant coin on their submissions with a little more patience.

Slow tiers for the win for me.

I am also in the mindset of slow wins, but I can see why some have hesitation as the longer our comics sit in shipping boxes, them handling,  grading,  encapsulating,  packing , shipping the more chances of damage occurring.

Plus it is one thing to be slow, it is another when TAT are getting closer to the half a year mark.  It is hard when your a collector who loves them, and held on to them for years, decades,  etc and just want to persevere/protect the comic, but once you have paid for that grading,  waited and it shows up with Newton Rings, wrong label, cracked case or worse damage.

I do understand why some want to get through the process as fast and painless as possible.  Even if it is more money. Still it is yet another issue that could arise.  Instead of trying to " ramp up production "  and sacrifice quality (as they have been doing) they could always try the other route of charge more and offer premium service.

Please name a company that is perfect, has no issues and all of their customers are perfectly content with no complaints.

I do agree with this, and dont really expect perfection.  That is unrealistic. I could understand some issues. It is the increase in frequency and how common place so many of the issues have become as well as their response.

What’s concerning is that CGC has enough issues with their services that their customers are arguing with each other about which ones should be a priority.

I also have to agree that it is concerning that they do have that many issues, however I do have to give CGC credit for being able to voice and discuss these issues on their site. Some of the others have been known to ban customers and scrub their "boards" in an attempt to hide some their issues.

For dealers who have cash flow considerations, I understand that long turnaround times can be potentially damaging to business.  But for the majority of Collectors Society membership, I've never understood the frantic rush and need to be informed immediately about every change in status.  The monetary advantage of the 'slow' tiers is not insignificant, and since I'm never looking to immediately flip newly slabbed comics it doesn't matter to me at all whether the process takes two or six months.  Finally, having been submitting since the time when there was no database access to the status of the grading process or the finalized grades themselves, I've always been content to get the Registered Mail package back whenever CGC is finished with my comics and see the grades for the first time with the comics in hand.

Is it that everybody here concerned with turnaround times and status updates is essentially a comic dealer concerned about their cash flow and looking to quickly flip their slabs?

While I can understand and agree with what you are saying about these specific issues. I mean who doesn't like the anticipation of that Christmas like box of goodies you can't wait to open . The real issue comes from this compounded by that the longer they have and hold them the more likely they are to be damaged  and or come back with Newton Rings, trash in slab, multiple size cases for identical books, etc that after this wait, you only have to look forward to paying more, and sending it back to wait and hope that yet again that it survives this process all over again without any other issues. Which is another of the issues is how many of us have already gone through this process multiple times only to get back the same or worse issues to the point its obvious that they will not address it.

  4. I would have to agree. Which is the only reason I have brought all this up. The list of issues keeps growing, and I really would like them to either fix them or the other to step in enough that the resale value of theirs becomes competitive.  Which is why I say it's sad , and at the same time used the southern colloquialism " Losing My Religion " as in at the end of my rope. Just disheartening and disgusting,  as it has made me view many of my treasured collection as pure resale value.

  5. So far the more i see,  myself and many others have lost faith in CGC. One of the reasons I have not sent in another submission this year with turn around times hitting up to 5/6 months on some tiers, status updates that have no consistency,  fast tracks that have taken longer than regular submissions,  No movement on the Registry Requests since June 9th, glitches signing on saying host was down , HORRIBLE NEWTON RINGS ,  random trash in slab,  multiple size slabs on same books, mislabeled books, and now damaging reholder books? This has just become sad. it appears they have just given up on taking pride in the product they sell and us as customers.  "The only reputable company " is quickly fostering a reputation that will have more of us giving up on them. It has just become unacceptable and enough is enough.

Oh man!  That Adventures of Superman 498 4th print!!  Would love to open that up!!

This is the second of these sealed Doomsday/Funeral sets I have acquired,  but have 3 loose raw copies of the 498 and one sealed in a 2 pack. So for now I will keep them sealed, but i do keep getting  that urge to bust them all open and go on a grading spree. Still just have to enjoy them sealed in their original package after all this time.

This is all I can see in that shape.

    Image result for m.u.s.c.l.e. figures

This one cracks me up. I laughed the first time I had a plie of these thrown into a lot of collectables I bought years ago.  Thinking wth?  Then laughed even harder when they paid for everything I bought in that lot as well as a few hundred dollars profit. Was amazed what they did and continue to sell for. M.u.s.c.l.e. in on them $$$ , but yeah reading this watching pornos, and eating cheetos.

But seriously  I would be curious if the indica says anything different that the standard version.( not that all of the special or later prints were noted.)

I cannot say if this is real or not.

The Action 683 third and the Adventures 499 second appear on comic book realm, however it has been widely discussed , searched  and until someone provides actual scans or photos of a real copy . Cover and indica page stating print. It has been accepted that these were never printed and distributed.  The images came from a trade where they have cover art and it show a few of the later prints that the logo colors were changed for the actual print and others that were never distributed such as Man of Steel 25 second print. Many others , including myself would love to be wrong about this as we have all searched for them.

I just wish #75 had gotten a DCU. That’d be a great book to cap off this set.

A Superman #75 fifth printing with a DCU is a fun thought. Perhaps in a parallel universe. hm

I would have to agree.  Really wish they had both complete sets.  Really wanted Superman 75 fifth , 76 third , Adventures 499 second ,  Justice League 70 fifth , Action Comics 683 third , 685 third , Man of Steel 21 second printings. Wonder if I could commission some of the colorist to change logo colors add Roman numerals and paint DC Universe Logo over direct boxes and create my own DCU  CGC SS to complete the set , Although my luck they would call it color touch and PLOD SS them..
