I just saw this it looks like a pen mark and I'm sure if you are ever going to sell it that this will factor into the price.
I know it will factor, but I have gone over it and it is not a mark. It is definitely a hair. When the book moves in the inner well the hair moves independent of the book and well.

Neat find. I always enjoy seeing oddball errors. Thank you for sharing!

I hope we are all laughing at this amateur CSI .. The CGC edition : case of the lone hair. Breaker of Newton Rings. I know I am especially with this as it's not the best book to begin with , however It will not be as funny when someone really did just bleach their hair and it ends up next to your high grade high value book and bleaches out the color..

-
Although my luck it was freshly bleached and will start to leech into the cover.
-
So we are looking for someone in QC that is a " natural blonde"

...and from what part of the body. Too long for a pube, surely?
True. Almost looks as though it was bleached out.

Depending on who's it is it might go for a premium.. plus they said they don't encapsulate other items with the books.. better list this one as a one of a kind error..

It's the only way to defeat the rings. Hairy covers. I've seen them. It's the future.
Maybe we are just splitting hairs here , but your right it definitely was my future.. I just didn't know it..

Put a greyhound in there?
Funny. We used to raise Greyhounds. (Long ago) Now that Florida has eliminated Greyhound racing we have to do something will all of them. Why not send them to CGC as that hair is the only place on the cover without the Newton ring effect. So as absurd as that sounded you may be on to something.. maybe that's what they meant by they fixed the issue!

Another sold that was reported , however eBay didn't remove in time. Another point was brought up about these that GPA average sales and value will go down due to these reported sales.

I've never seen a graded book sell that low below GPA. If they were raw and not from China, it's possible they could be legit. But these are obvious scams. Whoever is buying these is betting on the 1/1 million chance that it's real. What a sad development.
Didn't even think of that unfortunate side effect. These graded scam listings that sold will be factored into GPA as recent sales and cause it to lower prices on some of these books. 😪

These eBay seller scams are not limited to China. They are also Hong Kong. They are any comics from Golden Age to Modern. All have 0 feedback. Here is an example of one currently listed with pictures of the original listing they swiped the pictures from as well as the scam item.

I see what you're thinking - yes, Kirk and others have identified some DC issues where the front cover is the same but there's a different notation in the indicia, of the back cover ads are different, etc. So you might find a distinction in your close examination. I hope you do, please let us know!
After searching through my sealed packs and closer inspection of the raw copies and indica. You and Kirk are correct. The raws I have appear to have black wrap removed and nothing stating or suggesting another print. I also did not have a package containing a 71.
How did that get in there? What's in the case?

I am starting this topic as today I received a CGC graded comic and the first thing I noticed was the Newton Rings, however upon closer inspection there was a line that had none. That's when I noticed a long dyed or bleached hair inside the inner well against the cover of the book. Now this isn't any high grade (it's 9.4) or super valuable book , and like most I laugh. Although if the hair was freshly bleached or dyed it could actually equate to a real problem for a high dollar book as it could bleach out a line on the cover or leech dye and if regraded could come back as a color touch. Ok back on topic it has me wondering what is the weirdest thing that has ever made it's way into a CGC case? Like the doc who forgot to remove the gauze during a surgery. I am curious what's in the case? Anyone ? Show us your , " what's that doing in there?"
