  1. If the spine roll was removed, it would put some defects on the back and make it present better, and possibly give it a higher grade. However, being a single staple book, there is a greater risk of it becoming detached.

  3. As far as unlocking the other thread, you would have to contact dena. I am not going against her decision to lock the thread. I believe people can still vote with it locked. I expect he could be added to the HoS without unlocking the thread. He won't be allowed to post here any longer.

  11. to answer your question, no, the book for $1000 was posted before the take it claim was made. So 2 indentical books were still open (one from November of last year, and one from this afternoon)
