Thanks for the advice. I tried that, but just GPAs cookies as I don't want to clear all my site data. That didn't work. I also deleted my saved username and password and re-saved them. That didn't help either.

Do I need to reboot too you think?

UPDATE.. after clearing my (specific, not all) GPA cookies.... deleting my saved username & password and re-saving it... then re-booting... NOW, MY NEW GPA is working on my desktop too.

In my case, it seems to have been a local issue with my computer and shortcuts, etc... not GPA.

    Thanks again @Badger

Having worked on a number of web sites in my career, including multiple web sites in the comic book biz, I have a lot of sympathy for the little things that can trip up the rollout of a major site upgrade, especially for a small business.  We've all become accustomed to a very high standard in our web (and mobile) experience, perhaps not always realizing that the standard is set by organizations with millions of dollars to spend on their IT budget.  So I will just humbly suggest patience.

Speaking for myself, I was unable to log in last night and hand to attempt a password reset three times.  Along the way I exchanged messages with George and he could not have been more helpful and accommodating.  I was able to get in at last, and I think he and his team should be commended for making such a significant investment in bringing their user experience to the next level.  Here's hoping that it won't be long before everyone has gotten through the bumps.

    Well said @Sweet Lou 14

Just a thought... those of us with either desktop and/or mobile access currently can offer to help anyone in dire straights for data.

I'm working here at home, but will be glad to try and help anyone in need of data now... in this thread or by PM. Hopefully others can too.

I got the e-mail, logged in fine, but as soon as I try to look up a price, I'm told I need to login again.

I have this issue as well. Reset my password 2x... after I'm logged in successfully, as soon as I attempt to look at an issue... I'm kicked off and asked to sign in again. I can access it on my phone however with no issues.

BTW... I have been beta testing the new GPA for 3-4 months and its absolutely fantastic! Everyone will love it after they play around and get used to the new interface and expanded tools. It's especially more useful on mobile compared to the app. Like many, I used to just use the full website instead... this update eliminates all the scrolling and such you used to have to do with the full site on mobile. I also love the quicker access to other issues in a title. Well done George! :headbang:

We are still working out all of the details for each show. Some shows from 2019 may not carry over to the 2020 schedule. We will update the events page on the CGC site as any new information becomes available. https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/events/

Thanks Jonny. It would be great if there was an announcement on the boards if any other On-Site Grading events will be taking place in 2020. 2 would be the fewest I can remember.

Even Keystone 2019 didn't advertise On-Site until very late. For some of us, knowing sooner than later about an On-Site Events is key in planning our cons for the year.

Hi there. Here is our events page on the CGC site. Our 2020 schedule is coming soon  https://www.cgccomics.com/submit/events/

I visited the page and I don't see On-Site scheduled for the 2020 Philly Keystone show in August. It only shows (2) On-Site Grading events at C2E2 and Baltimore.

There was On-Site grading this past year at Keystone Philly. Is on-site being worked out and not yet confirmed for this show or has it been officially cancelled?

I always thought them to be production related. Would love to hear from someone who knows why they happen.

Agreed. I always assumed it was due to a dull(er) trimming blade. What else could it possibly be? I can't even come up with an alternative explanation.

I do believe it definitely impacts the grade and have avoided submitting books that have them on any FC edge, breaking color. I have subb'd some books with just a few small ones on one back cover edge (in white areas) and if memory serves some (that had notes come back) said something to the effect of... "small/tiny tears top edge back cover" listed in the grader's notes. I don't recall ever seeing it referred to a "production tear" in the notes. Anyone else have them addressed in the notes?

Couple things. I have attached an authentic Jack Kirby signature from 1972 that I got personally from Jack at the El Cortez Hotel San Diego Comic Con. That was about the same time that Jack was leaving Marvel to go to DC and close to the same time that Forever People 1 was published. Also, the signature is on page two. While that is a bit odd, it is possible that was the page that the fan wanted him to sign and Jack being Jack just obliged. Not being a flat surface it may have affected the signature, particularly the last few letters of Kirby. Take a look at Bronze Bruce's pic and then compare it to the one that I have shown. I am no expert but there are similarities that I don't believe would come up in a non Kirby signature from that time. Obviously just my opinion, but I believe that is an actual Kirby signature. I have seen multiple (over a dozen) Kirby signatures over the years and mostly they are on the Indicia of the first page. It would be great if GlendGold would weigh in.

Thanks for posting the sig. I see the "loop" on the J being similar for sure. I'm encouraged

That looks like his signature to me. Does anyone have a known Roz Kirby signature to show us? Did Rich mention what differences to look for?

Well, this is getting more encouraging. No, Rich didn't give specifics, nor did he emphatically say it was Roz. He just thought it was more likely. I'd love to see samples of Jack vs Roz sigs but it doesn't seem anyone has any handy that saw this post.

Roz did some signing towards his final years mostly with material that was off site, like limited edition prints and so forth. She wasn't signing in his stead at San Diego for example. It looks slightly off to me but it could also be the result of trying to write in such a tiny margin or age (he had sight issues and didn't have as much control when he got older). Seems a bit odd it's on page 2 and not the bottom of page 1, too.

Thanks DP... maybe not a worthless pursuit. I thought page 2 was odd as well. It could be he just opened the book and missed by a page and sad F- it, lol

  11. Hello boardies with sig knowledge!

I was recently pressing a Forever People 1 and noticed the attached sig on the 2nd page.

Anyone with any history/experience with legit Kirby sigs want to offer an opinion? I showed it to Rich Henn and he said it was possibly "Roz" his wife, who apparently signed for Jack in this era.

That said, curious if anyone else wants to chime in?

ps... I'm aware there is another service that authenticates sigs after the fact, but want to determine if I should bother.

Thanks in advance for any help!

  13. We are more then pleased to announce yet another installment of the

    Philadelphia Comic-Con. Show

this Sunday September 29th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the
    Clarion Hotel and Conference Center
    76 Industrial Highway (Route 291)
    Essington, PA 19029

Conveniently located between exits 8 and 9A off of I-95.  A few miles south of the Philadelphia airport.  If using public transportation then use Septa Route 37 as the bus stops directly in frontof the hotel grounds.  Can't beat that for convenience.  Admission is a still low price of $3 per person.Kids 10 and under FREE with an accompanying adult paid admission.
On Facebook? Then please "like" PhiladelphiaComicCon and ComicBookShows.
Parking is still an issue but what I always suggest is to show up after 1 as the first wave of a few hundred
collectors will have gone by then plus some overnight guests would have checked out by then.  We are
open till 4 and trust me there is still great stuff in those boxes.  I know as when I go around after 3 to
sign up dealers for our next show (which happens to be the end of the year fest of December 29) that I
come back to my tables multiple times with the stuff I buy.

  14. Just a reminder about the upcoming and exciting Philadelphia Comic-Con being held this Sunday April 7th.
Usual show hours are 10 AM to 4 PM and admission is a low, low price of $3 per person.  Kids 10 and under free.
Parking is free but sometimes difficult due to the crowds we get and other events held the night before as
some of the guests at parties held on Saturdays are sleeping it off and getting a late start to their day tying up
some spots for us.  Feel free to park in the big rig parking out front if no lined spots are open in the lot.
I can recommend showing up after 1 PM as we get hit with a huge wave in the morning.  The crowd thins out by
then and we are still open till 4 PM which leaves you plenty of time to shop the room.

Held in the Presidential Ballroom of
The Clarion Hotel and Conference Center
    76 Industrial Highway (Route 291)
    Essington, PA 19029
