  1. Thanks for the input. That torn notch was a bit concerning when I bought it, but got a really good deal on it, so I'm not too upset about it. I had it at 7.0/7.5 myself. I appreciate the insight.
  2. I'm curious. Not that I am a grading expert by any means, but other than the obviously damaged corner, what are you seeing that would drop this to a 7.5?
  3. Trying to get a better understanding of this book I recently acquired. Besides the overall probable grade, I am specifically looking for information on the creasing. Does anybody know if this is a manufacturer crease (On front and back)? Or is this possible someone who attempted to press without realizing what they are doing? Do you have any method for identifying how the crease was created? Finally, what do you think this will do to the overall grade? My understanding is that manufacturer creases aren't held against the grade, is this accurate? Thanks for the information.
  4. If this has been such an ongoing problem, perhaps it is time to create a poll and possibly place him on the HOS.
  5. Seems like a textbook candidate for the probation list to me. I personally have not bought anything from him, but I know of others who have also had difficulty in dealing with his business. You did your due diligence and warned him about being placed on the list. Things happen from time to time, but to blatantly cut off all communication with a person who has purchased your items is unsatisfactory to say the least.
  6. At quick glance, the corners are fairly rounded and the spine has multiple ticks (stress lines) that break the color.
  7. Yah I agree, couldnt pass that one up. I was debating grabbing the others until you swooped in.
  8. Thanks for the info guys. I think I'm gonna give CLZ a shot.
  9. What does everybody use to log their collection with. Currently I have a simple Excel document with everything but with my collection in the thousands this has become fairly tedious lately to enter all the info by hand. I have seen database apps and computer programs online, such as CLZ, does anybody is these or have any advice on which program to use. I don't mind paying for it as long as it is a one time thing and not monthly subscription. Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  11. I just tried Chrome and everything seems to be working. Maybe explorer has some kink in the system. I don't know. Either way, thank you.
  12. Has anybody else had trouble lately submitting online. It was worked easily for me in the past, but now there seems to be problems with the process. Buttons don't seem to be working at all, they don't even let you click on some of them. I have tried on multiple computers and still the same issue. Maybe there is a internet setting that I have to adjust to get their site to work properly. I have already emailed them but as usual their customer service takes a while to get back to me. Any insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  13. Getting a 9.6 without notes does bother me. We are paying for a service, and one of those services is identifying possible flaws with our books. I have pretty much come to accept that some 9.6s will not have notes but I have also received 9.4s without any notes and this truly bothers me. As a paying customer I would like to no why my book is being downgraded. Perhaps there is a flaw that I did not notice and that is fine but telling me what was wrong allows me to grade better in the future and make more informed purchases. Additionally, there is a number of collectors that believe CGC is controlling the market by down grading otherwise pristine books. I may be naïve but I do not believe this is the case. Either way though not supplying reasons for downgrading a books adds fuel to the fire and causes other collectors to question the integrity of the company. As a paying customer I believe we deserve the notes for the books we submit and if they aren't going to at least establish some consistency. Either require all 9.6 and below to have notes or don't put any notes for 9.6s, establish a point in which their graders are required to so everybody is operating the same.
  14. My initial reaction was 6.0. But after seeing the missing piece from the bottom right cover and the tape that appears to be holding a rather significant tear together, I think you closer to the 5.0 range, maybe even 4.5.
  15. 7.5, possibly 8.0 but that significant spine tick may keep you from it.
  16. Neal Adams is 76, at this point I would say its worth it, never know how much longer he will be signing. As for the grade, I think you are right on track for 6.0
  17. This would certainly drop it below 9.6 in my opinion. My understanding is that unless it becomes a known production flaw then this will probably drop the grade of your book. At the same time how big of a deal is it? Really I suppose it depends on how you feel. It cost $20, if it is worth it to you to dispute it then I would email him and see what he says.
  18. Ok I worked up the nerve to check. Mine got a grade of 9.6. Your book seems very similar to mine, wouldnt be surprised if you are sitting 9.6/9.8
  19. I also am interested in seeing what a more experienced eye has to say about this. This level of fading is fairly significant, not sure how this would grade out though.
