  1. Definitely NM from what I can see, but to narrow it down between 9.4-9.8 is kinda hard to say. CGC sometimes surprises me with how they grade modern NM books. I have this book on the way back from CGC right now, Im a bit afraid to look at the grade.
  2. I agree with Adamantium at 7.5 on this. On a side note, this is absolutely one of my favorite Batman covers of all time. Hope to have one someday. Good catch.
  3. I plan to. Im looking to improve on a lot of my silver age collection. Hoping you have some of what I am looking for in those long boxes.
  4. I personally believe its sitting at 3.0. Also is there tape on the cover over the word "squad"? If so I have no idea how that would effect the grade but I could see it falling because of it.
  5. Thanks man, that was easy. Appreciate the info.
  6. Just curious, what does it take to become a CGC signature authenticator. I am not looking to become one, I dont have the time or dedication that running that sort of business does. Just found myself curious how they are selected and what makes them trusted sources. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  7. I will be attending this convention. First time, hopefully its decent.
  8. Thanks for the link, my experience is definitely is silver age and later, so like I said, trying to expand my knowledge base a bit. Hopefully someday I can actually afford some of these GA beauties
  9. Hello, I am looking to increase my pre code horror comic knowledge. What would be a good starting point. I know EC Comics did a lot of this. Are there any other GA companies I should focus on? I would love to also see some of the prize books people have collected. Thanks.
  10. That is one of the best stories I have heard in a long time. Glad that I read this, restores my faith in the collecting community.
  11. I was originally leaning towards 6.5 myself, but there is a small chunk missing from the back cover on the left side that has me thinking 6.0
  12. I will pick : Prize #70: Wonder Woman #329 CGC 9.6 - donated by letsgrumble And I just want to thank the individuals who put this together. Had a great time and cant wait until next year.
  13. Perhaps , at the same time I kinda was thinking of using this book as an experiment to see what the clean and press can do. Haven't decided yet, but if I do I will post the final grade. I'm not usually one to get alot of books graded, but I am getting more into it.
  14. Yah I'm not surprised about your grades. That's generally what I was thinking as well. Might send it in for a press just to see what it does for the book. Never pressed before.
  15. Would like an expert eye on this book. It is in fairly rough shape, which I expected, only spent $20 on it. I'm hoping to get a 4.0 but wouldn't be surprised if it went as low as 3.0. Additionally, I have no experience with having books cleaned and pressed. This appears to be a decent candidate to me (especially on the back). What do you guys think. Any insight would be appreciated.
  16. Graded too easy on the first round and too hard on the second round......this is why I leave grading to the experts
  17. Is there a running thread that is used to request label updates? I have trying to request that a note be added to Batman 657. It is the first appearance of Damian Wayne as Robin. Since every other Robin has a note similar to this effect, I feel that this book also warrants this. Anyway, is there somewhere specific I should address this? Thanks for the info.
  18. staples do not appear to be rusted from what I can tell. I have not seen this book in person, I have only seen the pictures that are posted here.
  19. Hi, I am looking for a more experienced opinion on a book I am considering buying. I have been collecting for years but this may be out of my technical skill. The book is House of Mystery 175, first appearance of Cain. The seller says its 7.5, I dont completely agree or necessarily disagree and I have concerns. There appears to be a small bit of water damage on the back of the book. What does this sort of damage drop the grade by, also is this a good candidate for a clean and press? Additionally it appears that there may be some mold inside the book, again I do not know how this impacts the grade. I have attached pictures and I really appreciate any insight you might have. Thank you.
  20. PGM FF 99 Could use an expert opinion. My wife and I are in a heated debate over the books grade. Any insight helps, thanks.
