  1. it's because of the medium to large piece missing on the top left, as far as i can tell. the rest of the book really does look nice.
  2. latest painting over an antique cabinet card photo. this is "deadpool and cable," in honor of the film. acrylic and oil on photo from the 1800s. 6.5 x 4.5 inches. before pic on left, after on right.
  3. did you have asm14 raw as a kid? love the drawing!
  4. where are they gonna receive the negativity from??? i'm super pissed about this, but theres nowhere on ebay to lodge complaints. there are pages on the ebay community with people person_without_enough_empathying about this to each other, but there are no moderators or ebay peeps involved in that conversation. the only option i see is to call, like rockmyamadeus did, and speak to "sally" in india who's simply reading out of a book. i don't know that ebay is aware just how much the customers hate this or how they can be made aware, unfortunately.
  5. a couple of specific comics stick in my memory, because i copied all or part of their covers when i was a kid. this one, capt marvel 57, from 1978, captured my fascination as a ten year old, and on the right is one of the drawings i did based on it. i changed thor to DD for some reason, and made up my own story. i used to do this alot. it's interesting what comics influenced me at this time. a few years later i would become a devoted john byrne x-men lover, and then miller DD lover, but at this time i was not really aware of the different artists, other than kirby and ditko of course. i was just learning to draw, from looking at comics.
  6. let me guess, his name is "steve" or "jenny."
  7. https://community.ebay.com/t5/Seller-Hub/Looking-up-sold-listings-and-now-getting-directed-to-live-items/m-p/28557156 yeah its a real thing, people are person_without_enough_empathying about it on ebay as well. so much hating them right now.
  8. its not a mac or windows thing. its very clearly a new policy that they are rolling out. when i tried calling to get more info it was just a insufficiently_thoughtful_person on the line and i didnt feel like wasting more time with someone who knows nothing.
  9. occasionally i can find one like this that i can still see. but most i can no longer view. if you keep items in your watch list after they have ended, keep checking them. you probably will not be able to shortly as well. much like on instagram, some people started getting ads months and even years before others did.
  10. i wish. mine simply says "the selected item is no longer available." no hyper link. how come its been 20 years and theres still no real competitor for ebay?
  11. its probably being rolled out at different speeds for all of us, but rest assured, shortly none of us will be able to see sold item pages anymore. absolute stupidity once again from ebay.
  12. yeah this is incorrect. we are no longer able to view sold items. they've changed the system.
  13. so now, when i check on listings i have been watching that just ended earlier today or yesterday, instead of letting me see the completed page, ebay tells me the listing is no longer available and tries to show me something else they think i'd like. WTF!?!? how freaking idiotic is this? on what planet is this useful to anyone? just when i thought ebay couldnt get any worse. jeez...
  14. how many of these do you have??!?!?!
  15. i couldn't help taking this shot at my bank box today. i know that this is a mix of silver and bronze, but these are my best key books. still have many other grails i need to get...
  16. yes and the seller recently tried to sell it here for about 13k, i believe. most likely, many potential comiclink bidders also use this site. 6 months is apparently too fast to try and flip this book, especially not having had luck selling it here. of course, at another time, or with another book, 6 months is ample time to make a nice profit.
  17. it continues-- just a hair under 3 grand now for a 7.5. a non white page copy sold for 2750 first, clearly spurring the sale of this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MARVEL-INCREDIBLE-HULK-181-KEY-COMIC-BOOK-CGC-7-5-WHITE-PAGES-1ST-APP-WOLVERINE-/253640045645?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=%2BZF6kwjS9MyS539cLXYaKtjFF70%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  18. who did the press work for you? amazing copy!
  19. it really is a beauty! well done! i love your copy too-
  20. i'm back in the club now thanks to bob storms. this is the best 5.0 i've ever seen. the back has a slight water stain, that must be the reason. looks more like a 6.5 to me otherwise. i'm super happy to have this book in my collection!
  21. like a proud parent i must say that that's my old copy, which i traded to omaha-cgc to upgrade to a 4.5 that's similarly well presenting and has no chipping. but i still miss this one too. scored it from an ebay seller that i worked a private deal with in 2015 for a good price, although not cheap.
  22. since the last reply to this thread, Hulk181 has seen a roughly 20 per cent increase in price for grades from 7.0 up to 9.4. ( i havent really followed lower grades) it's been an insanely fast explosion. in early april i was quoted prices that i did not act on, and within a week or two the same book had sold for $500-$1000 more. i haven't seen such a fast jump in price on another key book until recently. of course now every documented sale on gpa has everyone raising the price on theirs for another grand more than the last sale, so it can't last forever. might there be a drop, or just a plateau? remembering what happened with AF15 exploding last summer and then this year coming back down.
  23. other than feeling bad for those fired, i'm gonna file this one under 'who really cares, and why does anyone use this terrible company anyway??' really irks me when comiclink offers pgx books in their auctions. makes one have to guess based on one scan how many grades lower it will end up when taken out and sent in to CGC. and who knows if it will end up having been restored or conserved. whenever a dealer has pgx books, it makes them look cheap, IMHO.
