I find this very interesting. I have a small collection of Punisher pages but I’d never display them. I also don’t buy violent kill pages with human viscera or pages that show violence or sexual assault against women.

I echo the sexual stuff too. I almost put that in the original post, but figured it would ruffle too many feathers. I'm not sure I've had any in the past, but it wouldn't fly on the walls.

  4. Alright, here's a different direction, some vertical dps's. The Blue Marvel was not intended to be a DPS, Parsons blew up Broome's digital pencils (the cover to issue one exists as two pieces - Parons' inks over digital bluelines, with Broome still in possession of the penciled cover. A lot of the other pages of issue #1 are pencils and inks together.) to ink it. The Joe Mad Uncanny X-Men DPS features that crazy looking "feral" Wolverine, whose personality creeped in after his adamantium was removed.

I think the owner of https://tdartgallery.com/ would disagree about OA collectors being entirely male LOL

It's not just women, it is younger people, period. I am Gen X and work with both Millennial and Gen Z and they do not make sexual jokes at all. That is just our current environment, for better or worse. As for seeing women at cons, I see plenty browsing comics -- and today's collectors are the future OA audience, no?

I don't speak up often in this forum, but I want to echo this sentiment. I'm a millennial, but heck, I've been doing this for two decades. Those types of jokes do not fly with myself and 95%+ of our generation. These tactics ACTIVELY work to make our hobby smaller and more insular.

That sounds like really good advice. The last year or so I have definitely been a little too focused on chasing pieces. There's a dark side to this hobby and I'm pretty sure it can financially ruin you if you don't exercise restraint. At some point, I too will need to take a couple of years off, just to refocus myself if anything else.

It was really great - I really enjoy the hobby more now. I know I missed out on some stuff, but I also didn't trade/sell some stuff I might have as well.
