  1. Luckily, collecting Bakers is famously non-addictive and you'll DEFINITELY stop with just one.
  2. Good eye! No question he swiped a number of figures... definitely more than I would have thought 10 or 20 years ago. I'd say his talent was putting them together in vibrant, poster-like covers.
  3. And not PCH per se, but a kinda horror-ish train cover:
  4. Interesting! I found Round 1 much tougher. To me, a lot of those covers are 'pretty good' so kind of hard to compare. But I've got some clear favorites here.
  5. I think most of my favorites are in the Popular Teen-Agers run still to come. That said, it's interesting how some covers I've long overlooked catch my eye in this new context. Fun stuff. As Jaime said, thanks for doing!
  6. It's an awesome cover! I read in the last year or two that the cover is by Reed Crandall -- I never knew that but I can totally see it. The cool lighting/shading on the Devil's face at that very distinctive angle looks straight out of one of his classic EC stories.
  7. That's awesome, congrats! I love that cover too. I've got a decent copy but the colors don't pop like on yours.
  8. "Um hi I just bought this comic from you and it says 3D on the cover but there's no 3D inside...?" "SORRY KID, NO REFUNDS."
  9. Yeah, I checked out with no problem. All the really good strips of the X-Men #266 cover were gone, but I managed to snag one with part of Gambit's crotch. Still better than nothing!
  10. Wow, that's a fantastic cover! Lots to like there; never looked at it closely before. Speed is such a weird title. It's one of those runs like Catman, where it looks like six or seven distinctly different titles rolled into one. I love the pocket-sized #14-16 mini-run, and some of the great bizarre covers sprinkled through the #20s and #30s.
  11. It is interesting to think, Batman was likely made a detective to shoehorn him into the Detective Comics theme. If he'd been slotted for e.g. Adventure or More Fun, the mix might have been a bit different to the detriment of the character's longevity. Cheers, Bats!
  12. Great great auction. I was traveling last week; not seeing a lot of mad bargains but still wish I'd had a go at a few of the pre-Batman Tecs. Ah well. The finished prices as shown on the PBA auction site now *include* the BP, correct?
