  1. Thanks. I only have a couple of other newsstand books in my collection, the one and only Wolverine i own is newsstand
  2. I know I'm late to the thread, but i posted these in another thread and figured they would fit here as well.
  3. I haven't read much of anything else from NOW, but they did have some pretty unique stuff.
  4. Yes, as far as i know this series was Alex Ross' first published work. Only have one newsie out of the series.
  5. I wasn't aware of a series published by Malibu, now i have to check it out.
  6. Right on. Its tough when you go to an event where one guy had like 10 long boxes each of Marvel and DC stuff, and maybe a box and a half of "others"
  7. I'm always looking for terminator stuff every time i see a box of comics, i rarely find any terminator books at all, im glad i have this book but i would probably like it more if i found it on the hunt
  8. 8 I grabbed all the newsie copies i could find in the collection. Most of them came from local shops, one from ebay in a small lot. The spawn 100 book was actually the only copy of that issue in a longbox, marked for $8
  9. Well, I liked the Batman vs Predator series, so i would definitley read Venom vs Predator.
  10. You might be on to something there. Assuming a "generation" is 15 years, i would say (2) generations from now... 2047.
  11. I just picked up a second copy of this for $3 at the LCS, didn't realize it was a newsstand since the UPC is on back. The only difference I found was paper quality. The direct has a nice cardstock cover and glossy pages, while the newsie is regular cover material and flat pages.
  12. You would have to make strong case that the investor will see a return, especially dealing in collectibles. I think distribution is the area that might hold some investment value, like owning a piece of Diamond Direct.
  13. Good afternoon all!! My name is James and I've just recently gotten back into collecting as a hobby/time-filler. I always read comics as a teenager, but didn't hold to very many, so i'm sort of making up for lost time. My wife was actually the one who told me i should get back into it, after I found about half a dozen books in my attic and told her about each one. She is very supportive and now loves reading comics and digging through boxes. Right now i am reading a ton of stuff from Dark Horse. Predator/Terminator/Aliens were some of my favorite movies, and I am amazed at how many stories there are within those series from Dark Horse, i love it. My current Pull List at the LCS: Predator: Hunters (for me) Grrl Scouts (for her) Also, waiting for my Spawn: Vault Edition Art Book to come in. Will try to share some photos of the book in a few weeks when it ships if anybody is interested.
  14. Don't have a story of my own to share, but read something yesterday that reminded me of some of these crazy stories. New 52 Harley Quinn #9 where she got kidnapped by a guy posing as a police officer. The kidnapper killed the officer, took his clothing, and told Harley that "his body is in the basement with my long boxes".
