  1. The finished artwork for TickComics.com. Again, drawn by Billy Tucci and colored by Wes Hartman.
  2. TICK #12 Variants are listed at the bottom of this page: http://tickcomics.com/original.html This information has been verified by New England Comics as accurate. -Brian
  3. Hey Finhead - that's a really nice set. Thanks for sharing!
  4. I picked this up last week. It's in rather poor shape (in my opinion) but it had an early Ben Edlund signature in it. I didn't have one of these signatures yet in my collection.
  5. Thank you Vic for my prize package. It arrived safe and sound from the warm sunny SoCal to the ice storm ridden NH. The items have a nice new home. :-)
  6. Thanks for the share Vic! Anything to get more Tick fans is always a good idea! :-)
  7. I got my colorized Tick art. Billy Tucci did the line art, Wes Hartman did the coloring. I'll be using it for the TickComics.com site.
  8. I've known for a month. I was pretty excited when they told me they wanted to do that. The cool part is, I've already had one other collector email me and let me know of a couple comics that I was missing. They weren't rare or anything - I just missed them as 3rd variant covers. (The massive summer double spectacles - limited edition covers) I was able to pick up the missing issues on eBay right away for under $10 for the pair. The whole reason I created that site was to that I could check to see what comics as was missing while I was trying to complete my collection. That way I wouldn't have to try to memorize anything - just look up my collection on line and see if I had the issue or not. When I initially let NEC know about the site they were kind of like "that's nice... another Tick fan page". It kind of grew from there. I saw some people with non-NEC Tick stuff so I thought it would be good to collect and add that. (Round 2 of research) Then when I felt like it was a close to a complete site I sent NEC an email asking them if they knew of any missing issues. To which I got a reply similar to "it looks pretty good, but it would be nice to see the trade paper backs as well - they has some nice artwork on those covers". That sent be back for round 3 of research. I also added the Newsletters - although other than the first three that had the original appearances of the Tick I don't hunt those down. Bob Polio was very kind to me at Boston Comic con last summer and put up with all the questions I had about previous Tick comic books. He was also very helpful and letting know about some of the variant covers that I had not known about or tracked down yet. When I sent another email to George with a final request for missing issue information (around January sometime) I finally got a "Wow, you've done a good job at tracking down and cataloging the comics... Would you care if we shared your site?" Of coarse I was honored. I started working on the site around July last summer. I'm obviously still missing several issues as evident by my "wanted" page but it been a lot of fun along the way. And honestly, I think what I liked most about getting serious about my Tick collection is that I never expected to make friends from other Tick collectors. Everyone has been very nice to me and very helpful - especially from this forum. A year ago I had stack of Tick comic on boards in bags. Mostly first prints, and mostly up till about 2000. After 2000 I mostly piked up non-comic con issues. I had what ever I didn't have to hunt for. I had never been to a comic con and didn't know about variant or special covers. So let me say this hear. While NEC may have mentioned my name on the inside cover of #3 it wouldn't be there if you guys hadn't help me out and brought me under your comic book collector wings. THANK YOU! And may the rooftops never crumble under your feet as you bounce from roof to roof. (unless you're the guy with the wings.) Vic, I even still have some of the images on the Tick site that you let me use. Kelly, you taught me about the grading process and sold me a few high grade comics, Glenn you've help me fill in my collection with some cool signed comics as well. I'm excited to meet you guys this summer when I attend my first SDCC. I'm gonna need help... someone will need to show me the ropes of what I need to see and do while I'm at the con.
  9. Cool Vic! I knew the comic book price was a homage to some Norman Rockwell image but didn't know which one. That's great! ...and the comic site is pretty easy to remember... TickComics.com Wes Harman will be working on the coloring.
  10. I finally received the original art work by Billy Tucci that was done for the Tick comic website. :-) Now I wait patiently (sort of) for the digital color version. I love that he included Johnny Wingless.
  11. I'm assuming you know... but it's a homage to Wolverine #1. Oh, and you were also looking at the top of my kitchen table - since you asked. :-)
  12. Left: The NEC exclusive ashcan Boston Comic Con edition of Tick 2017 #1 - variant cover. (Limited to 75) Center: The NEC exclusive cover of Tick 2017 #1 - variant cover. (Limited to 500) CGC signed by Mike Lilly (The artist) Right: The original cover art by Mike Lilly.
  13. I've looked at all the Tick CGCs on the registry. Are there any 10's out there? I've seen several 9.8 but nothing higher. I'm guessing that many of the 9.8 went from the printer's shipping box, to the shelf at a NEC booth at a comic con, then signed and straight to CGC. How do you get a 10? (This isn't a complaint - it's just a question of curiosity). Even with the non signed CGCs that are "new" I can't find a 10. If I'm looking for comics to submit I want to know I am submitting my best. :-)
  14. NEAT! I've never seen that many signatures on 1 comic! (other than the 20th anniversary sketch cover)
  15. I went there but not could place a pre-order. Is that just me? (my browser) or is that not open for orders yet?
  16. Just finished watching all the new episodes (I know, what took so long, right?) I won't give away any spoilers just in case anyone hasn't watched them all yet. Just wanted to say I was pleased with the ending and didn't know Dot had "the stuff" too. I also found the boat's romantic status amusing - I didn't see that coming. Now I sit tight as I eagerly await season 2! ...Okay, there's no way I'm gonna sit for another 6 months just for a couple more episodes... Maybe I'll reread some of the old comics. Where to start...
  17. Thank you for sharing your photos of the event. How cool (and NEAT too)
  18. Victor - that is so awesome! Congrats, you look amazingly happy! the Tick, Arthur, and the Vic!
  19. I'm so jealous. That will never happen in New England. I'm happy for you guys though. It sounds like an awesome time! Don't forget to bounce across a few rooftops while you're there. :-)
  20. One new cover and one unknown. The picture on the left, if I am correct is the 2018 Free Comic Book Day in May. I can't figure out what the image on the left came from (or is for). It's got Barry Hubris playing a video game. I assume they're in the headquarters / mansion but I'm not positive of that.
  21. I was in a NEC store this afternoon and found an original special edition #2 in the back of the rack (not in a bag on board or anything) I was so excited I grabbed it and placed it between a bunch of other comics and set it on the counter and the register. The cashier rang up all the comics and when he got to that one it didn't have a bar code or price so he just rang it in for $1.50! SCORE! ...I got out to the car to show my wife my steal of the day only to discover it was one of the limited edition reprise issues that someone had taken the blue cover off of. For a buck fifty I don't feel bad but my super excitement went away quickly. It only goes to show you get what you pay for.
  22. So, I have seen the War of the Independents - PHAZER listed on a couple different lists of comics that have a Tick reference, or image of the Tick in it somewhere. I purchased a WOTI PHAZER but don't see Tick in it anywhere. Am I missing something, or are there several issues? If so, anyone know which issue has Tick? This is the one I have:
