  1. I don't think I've had a book sit in Quality Control/Graded for more than a day or two. It usually goes from Graded to QC to Shipped fairly quickly. I suppose if it's stuck in QC for an extended amount of time, it means they caught something and wanted to have a closer look.
  2. This. Sure, the cost to reholder is $12, but it's gonna cost you at least $15 to send the book to CGC and it's gonna cost like $32 for CGC to send it back to you. All said and done, it'll cost at least $60 to reholder the book. I had this happen to me before, I reached out to the seller who immediately apologized and offered me a $30 refund to cover reholdering. I knew reholdering would cost more, but it was a book I REALLY wanted and I didn't mind spending an extra $30 on a 4 figure book so I just covered the remainder myself. I'm of the state of mind that the seller is on the hook for making sure you're made whole or compensated to your satisfaction up to the cost of reholdering (assuming the book is undamaged). If the book IS damaged, then yeah, return that puppy and get a full refund. It is the sellers responsibility to file an insurance claim with USPS, not yours.
  3. They are SDCC exclusives if that's what you're wondering.
  4. Thanks for all the feedback. I think it started out because I was new to the boards and didn't have any history as a buyer/seller so I tried my best to be as easy and accommodating as possible.
  5. That's a perfect display. Custom frame I presume? I wouldn't mind doing something similar and use museum glass so I can actually display my high end comics without having to worry about fading.
  6. I saw one guy post that. I'm guessing they must have only put out X number of books for sale on preview night and held back the rest for the actual con beginning today. I also see someone running with the 1000 print run number, but again, no confirmation from an official source.
  7. Starlin and Lim have attended a lot of cons the first half of the year. I'm sure they'll be making more appearances the second half as well. For example, I know the two of them will be at Terrificon in exactly one month.
  8. Does anyone know the print run on the 9 virgin covers for ASM#800? I thought I heard Black Spidey had a print run of 1000 but can't find the post to confirm it wasn't just a dream.
  9. I've got a question about payments via PayPal. Since personal payments are not allowed as a listed option, that means payments are subject to PayPal fees of 2.9% + 0.30. As a seller, do you factor those fees into your list price? I think for the most part when I've been buying stuff, I've been adding a little on top to cover fees. But I'm just wondering if i've been too nice this whole time. I suppose it depends from seller to seller and I should always confirm before issuing payment, but just curious how you factor in fees.
  10. In all honesty, they make those things pretty easy to create content. I have to wonder if OP even looked into the WordPress suggestion. They literally have pre-made templates where it's just a matter of adding images and words.
  11. How many Penguins do you have in your collection? Do you have to own a tuxedo to fit in?
  12. hahaha EDIT: man, it's early. I just remembered clicking the reaction button would have sufficed instead of wasting a post to simply type 2 letters...3 times apiece... I think I'm gonna do some work...get my brain jogging.
  13. Yeah, I scrolled through looking for topics that started with "EBAY". When I didnt' see any new ones I posted. Then I went back to look at General and saw the "It's Tuesday - " post. I suppose this is why I should slow down and read things fully.
  14. I wonder if it's because I don't buy/sell on eBay that much so they count me as a "Limited User History". When I've sold stuff recently, there's a section in my seller portal that says "Funds available by" and it's 21 days out. The funds either become available when the tracking is marked as delivered or 21 days, whichever comes first (which in this case, is always when the item delivers).
  15. Double posted eBay coupon. Ignore this thread.
  16. Why not use a blog service like WordPress or something?
  17. PayPal holds the funds for something like 3 weeks preventing you from withdrawing funds immediately.
  18. Frankly, I'm surprised. There is no malicious link to click. The language barrier means it's easily dismissed. The effort required to program something to create multiple accounts and then spam the message boards seems like a total waste when there's zero possibility of any financial gain. It's all more of a nuisance than anything else.
  19. Ah geez. They're back. I wonder who decided "ah ha! that community of nerds will make an excellent target of our attack." smh.
  20. When you say "hang on walls", what exactly do you have in mind? Like @revat said, there is a 'Comic Rooms' subforum where people really deck out their pads. If by "in plastic cases" you mean slabs/CGC cases, then you're probably better off buying them slabbed instead of buying raw and then submitting without knowing in advance what they'll grade out as. However, if you just wanted to put your books in a nice frame for presentation, there are a range of options. From the cheap plastic BCW frames to this cheap IKEA hack to more expensive custom framing options.
  21. I sure hope a boardie was the lucky winner. Because at least then there's a chance that should they choose to sell it down the road, they'll offer us first rights at it before posting it for sale elsewhere. Well...a guy can hope at least.

  23. I don't know anything about the Vegas market, but Torpedo Comics seems to be building a reputation for themselves. I've seen creators (like Jim Lee) promote them on social media. I also see they have quite a few signing events in store with big names. They also seem to have a growing presence at cons (having just hosted their own pre-SDCC event in LA this weekend). And I would imagine they must have a decent amount of GA/SA/BA books.
