  1. how are you and @williamblood able to see the remaining amount?
  2. Yeah. And I would argue this one is as well. (Joe Jusko, Graffiti variant)
  3. I don't even like buying variant covers but for some reason, a part of me is thinking "meh, $75 for the 1:100 doesn't sound so bad." Ugh, I caved and did the same.
  4. Joshua Middleton, Ssalefish Comics Exclusive.
  5. Rich out there plotting like this kid: Meanwhile, I'm trying to scrounge up funds like Calvin here:
  6. The absolute worst thing for me would be for @Rich_Henn to come in here and offer up some deal on the Jock cover like he did with Action Comics #1000. "Minimum 5 sigs signed in silver with Tom King and whichever artists I can get." Like, how am I supposed to say no at the opportunity for matching books and awesome sigs? I'm already broke! Rich Henn...singlehandedly deferring my retirement age.
  7. Comic Market Street is guessing between Sunday and Wednesday. They said they have a surprise in store. What that means, who knows. I kinda hope it's a cover B with her "bridesmaids" in the background (i'm thinking Holly and/or Harley/Ivy). I agree with @TYPE-R. The Jock variant of Action Comics #1000 was my favorite of the bunch, but this feels lazy and uninspired. The pose doesn't evoke Batman. It's very much a Clark Kent pose to me. Other than being dark, it just doens't really feel like Batman.

  9. you're sure it's not this thread?
  10. So have we crossed the $2B threshold yet? We gotta be close at this point right?
  11. @Martin Sinescu Thanks for removing the temptation for the rest of us.

  13. For the most part, none of the Action Comics #1000 covers struck me. Same with the Amazing Spider-Man #800's. But I am loving a lot of these Batman #50 covers. I'll be getting the Janin (standard cover), the Jim Lee variant, and that absolutely stunning Natali Sanders cover. I actually like the Warren Louw cover because I like the history around the edges but we'll see if I'm up for spending the extra money on it.
  14. Oh thank god for this. I was about to post one because I've seen so many covers.
  15. @Kramerica@1950's war comics Sorry, last post is bugged for me at the moment. I read through the first 3 books and they're all an assortment of short stories inspired by the Haunted Mansion. Some of the stories thus far have been good taking details from the ride and developing a backstory for them. For example, there's a story about the coffin with the ghost screaming to be let out. Then there's the main story which is broken into 6 parts through the first 6 books which details Gracey and how he came to be in possession of the manor. None of the stories are canon (as far as I'm concerned). But I could see some of the stories doing a fairly good job adding additional depth to the ride experience. For the most part the art feels like it's been pulled from the Cartoon Network on a Saturday morning. It's all black and white. And it's certainly not what I'm accustomed to. Then again, the book is probably targeted towards younger audiences, so don't expect some Jim Lee style pencilwork. Also, the text and lettering looks like they just took a simple Paint program and added a text box over some of the word bubbles. All in all, while I would say half of the stories have been pretty good thus far, the overall production of the book definitely feels like it's been handled by a small time publisher. That being said, would I pay current eBay prices for the books? Probably not. If I ever came across them in a $0.25, $0.50, or $1 bin would I grab them? As a fan of the Haunted Mansion/Disneyland, I think it's definitely worth picking up at that price. There are definitely enough enjoyable stories at that price point that the books are worth your while.
  16. Considering it was $9.99, I really wish Marvel had just added 20 pages of content and gone the maxiprint route (or whatever it's called) that DC did with Action Comics #1000. Every copy of ASM #800 that I saw on the shelf had damaged corners because of the thickness of the book coupled with the standard paper cover.
  17. What's wrong with a no board situation? All books are bagged/boarded so the books never physically touch and then they are alternated to avoid having all the spines on one side. This allows for more books to fit into the box as the spine is typically thicker than the flip side. This also means a more even distribution of pressure throughout the box as opposed to more pressure being applied to the spine of the books.
  18. I'm still very much confused. On a prior occasion they messed up and didn't acquire a sig and never got the book back to you (and never gave you your money back). And despite all that, you still went back to them for sigs (which you just picked up on May 15th)? Sigs that took a year to get returned to you. I never would have gone back to the company after the first foul up. And more importantly, I don't know why you didn't go get your money back.
  19. It seems to me like Starlin is hitting up the convention scene pretty hard this year because of the Infinity War hype (or maybe he always did and I just didn't know since I'm new around these parts). But it's almost a 100% guarantee that one of the facilitators on these boards will be seeing him at a convention this summer. For example, I see he'll be at the Vegas convention at the end of June. Check the sig room to see which facilitator is attending and reach out to them.
  20. Found these while rummaging through the $0.50 bin at my LCS. That Silvestri cover looks wicked. And there's plenty of faults with Liefeld's X-Force cover (the usual quips about feet or lack thereof, Juggernaut is completely disproportionate, how is Jugg's right foot behind Warpath?, etc), but if you suspend disbelief for the merest of seconds, it does look pretty cool at first glance. These also caught my attention being a huge Disneyland fan. I love how the covers are iconic moments from within the attraction. It does kill me though that issue #6 is missing, was picked up by someone else, or that I overlooked it while flipping through the piles of dreck.
