  1. I feel like I was lulled into a false sense of security by his last few offerings because I don't recall them selling out nearly this fast. The Phoenix Resurrection sets (all but the unsigned ultra set) for example were up for hours.
  2. Yeah, I just went back and bought the signed Premium set. Better to have a copy than to have no copy at all (or to overpay for a copy).
  3. man, I was dicking around with my paypal login and the books were gone. I was only looking for the unsigned premium ABEF set.
  4. I'm sensing the strip might serve as a parallel between you and your wife.
  5. Not that I would ever pay anywhere near that much for this book, but the placement and the sketch itself look fantastic. Considering it seems rare to get a sketch, I gotta say, this book looks mighty nice. In fact, the only thing I would do is remove Stan's sig altogether. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amazing-Spider-Man-Renew-Your-Vows-1-J-Scott-Sketch-Remarque-CGC-9-8-SS-X2/163031354365?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D51378%26meid%3D8e3e7a89fcaf4b7dad381c7bcbdd83b7%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D163031354365%26itm%3D163031354365&_trksid=p2481888.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A1d005589-4feb-11e8-91db-74dbd180f656|parentrq%3A2d498f9f1630aa47b8688fcffffe2559|iid%3A1
  6. Yeah, I think I'm just gonna get that first premium set. It's probably the first set where my favorite versions are all in one group.
  7. I really need to create a list of books and rank them for these types of sales instead of always wondering "hmmm...what do i want?" and then scrambling for a good deal.
  8. I went from not wanting any of these books to now not knowing if i want to order a Premium Set or the Ultimate set. (d'oh)
  9. I've only been subbed to his emails the last 6 months, but the last few I remember seeing have always been limited to 2 sets per order. A set quantifies as any of the individual item groupings. So you could get 2 sets of the A+B covers and that would be your max placement. Or you could get 1 set of the A+B cover, and then 1 set of the A-H covers and that would be your max order. It does not mean 2 sets of each item grouping.
  10. I think the point was to highlight the major characters in Slott's run plus the 3 major loves of his life. I almost wouldn't mind 2 more covers (Anti-venom and Mockingbird).

  12. All 8 JSC covers have been revealed. https://jscottcampbell.com/products/amazing-spider-man-800-j-scott-campbell-exclusive Also Adam Hughes covers (though, thematically, these remind me of JSC's Renew Your Vows #5 covers) http://www.comicsketchart.com/rare-variants.html
  13. I'm not a huge Adam Hughes fan, but I gotta say, I like it better than any of the JSC covers.
  14. I don't buy/sell much here, but even I'm genuinely curious just in case I should ever cross paths with him on these boards.
  15. I dunno, the bottom of those boxes are definitely caved in a bit as though they were dropped unceremoniously. How tightly were the contents packed? I have to wonder if the fact that they were dropped compounded with very tightly packed boxes caused the vibration from the drop to rattle through the contents of the box and thus cracked the cases. (ie the force wasn't distributed amongst the cardboard packaging but was instead distributed amongst the plastic cases.) I once received a package in the mail that was immaculate, yet the corner of the plastic case was heavily damaged. These things happen. The best one can do is respond politely. I've never found rage and f-bombs to get me nearly as far as kindness and a good attitude. As others have stated, there is no way cases that damaged would make it past QC.
  16. At the time of release, I viewed it as a disappointment. In a way, I still do, but as a whole, I've come to appreciate it more. Mostly because it introduces Scarlet Witch and Vision (who have seen expanded roles in Civil War and Infinity War). We see the relationship with her brother and can begin to understand her motivations moving forward as a result of his death. As such, AoU is an integral piece to fully understanding everything we see in Infinity War. Not only that, but it gives me a greater appreciation for Infinity War and the universe building of the MCU as a result.
  17. The moment between Tony and Peter (Spidey) is particularly impactful considering throughout Civil War, Homecoming, and the majority of Infinity War, Tony treats Peter like his own son. He's very protective and tries to be the father/adult figure in his life. This coupled with Tony's dream about Pepper being pregnant and it's just a crushing moment for him (and the audience). Peter just repeating "I don't wanna go. I don't wanna go." is a combination of fear and denial. A father never wants to outlive his child and there are no words of comfort that Tony can offer other than "it's okay kid."
  18. Yeah, I fully realize i'm in the minority when it comes to holding Ragnarok in such low regard. When it came out, critics and fans were singing its praises alike. Hela felt very one dimensional (which surprised me considering the talent that is Cate Blanchet), and Valkyrie did nothing for me until the end when her tragic backstory was revealed. But by then, most of the movie had passed and I just didn't care enough at that point. I also didn't like the treatment of Loki. He went from a chaotic mischievous God to a goofy mischievous one. I always enjoyed the original premise of the first Thor movie: Marvel meets Lord of the Rings. And while I get that that didn't work for moviegoers, I don't think copying another successful Marvel franchise was the answer either.
  19. I don't get how Ragnarok is a great movie. It was basically a Guardians of the Galaxy clone tonally and a very poor one at that. The jokes were forced and not nearly as funny as GotG. Korg got way too much screen time because its the director (and I legit hope he died in IW). Bottom 5 Marvel for me. I literally left the theater thinking "please Marvel, no more Thor movies." Winter Soldier and GotG are for sure top 5 films (along with Civil War).
  20. I think there's quite a few "purists" out there who complained about the way Thanos was characterized. They disliked the absence of Death as a motivating factor. They disagreed with Thanos crying and loving Gamora. They seem to want the movie to play out the same way as in the comics. The source material is meant to be used as inspiration and frankly, some of the scenes are clearly derived from moments in the book. Honestly, the fan service from some of the scenes was truly great to see on screen (Mantis/Drax on Knowhere, Iron Spider, the last scene, etc).
  21. Strange's solo fight against Thanos was jaw dropping. His opening spell started off so simply, just a red firey/lightning arch hitting one rock. I was like, okay Strange, you can do better than that. Then the ball starts creating a chain from one rock to the next. From that, to the mirror shield, to the matter manipulation, to the doppelganger spell and chains. The good Doc pulled out all the stops.
