  1. Are you saying you didn't even get your money back for the lost book? Because if so, i'm not sure how you let that slide.
  2. I'm pretty sure you pick any 10 books out of the bundles (less anyones that have been claimed already) for $275. I imagine as books get claimed, the "bundle" price will continue to decrease as well.
  3. Man, I thought I packed books securely. I need to up my game. I bought books from @DC|Marvel and the packaging was rock solid. Great communication. Look forward to future sales threads.
  4. looks like half a dozen guys beat you to the punch.
  5. This still bugs me that they allow the market to dictate something like this when the writer has come out and flat out said otherwise. Like, who is to argue with the guy who was responsible for creating the character? Makes no sense.
  6. Quite a head scratcher this one. The placement of the dot at the end doesn't really line up with any of the names involved in the book. Especially since it appears to be preface by a "c" and an "e".
  7. Definitely not Gal Gadot. Her signature looks more like this:
  8. Man, they must be backed up or something. My books have been sitting in "Received" for a month now. Last time around, my books were received, verified, graded, shipped in the span of a month. Definitely makes you consider going the FastTrack route next time around. Also, the tight grading worries me. I've got two ASM300's set to be sent as soon as they get signed. When they left my possession they were 9.4 CGC SS labels. If it comes back as anything less, i'm gonna be sad.
  9. What book is that? Chances are you can look at the list of contributors on the DCComics wiki to at least reduce the number of possible creators. From there, most books are signed by the writer, artist, or cover artist. and to a lesser extent, the inker and colorist. I'd say there's an 80% chance that the sig belongs to one of those 5 people.
  10. The books are in a bookshelf/cabinet interspersed with my regularly bagged/boarded books (so really no different than if they were in a box, the bookshelf just presents nicer). However, the archived mylar bags are wider than a regular bag so it's not flush with the rest of the books. ie, the spine of the book isn't flush with the other books on the shelf. My concern is that the pressure of the surrounding books might "press" everything but the spine. I suppose if that were a serious concern, it would mean that i've packed too many books on the shelf. But I guess I thought the toploader would provide additional rigidity/protection so that the same amount of pressure is applied to every square inch of the book instead of more applied to one half versus the other. (not sure if that description makes sense.)
  11. @ Pontoon, @oakman29 I took the advice of that "Visual Guide to Mylar sizes" thread and went the combo route (Mylite2 + Archive Combo). This post has now got me thinking, is there any added benefit to potentially sliding the combo into a top loader (ie Mylife2 + Archive + Top loader)? Or does that strike you as overkill? The extra rigidity provided by the top loader certainly seems ideal but i'm not sure if all of that, plus a full back board would get squished in a top loader.
  12. If they spent as much time inspecting the book as they did coming up with the "fine print", maybe they'd be better graders.
  13. I think it's all smoke and mirrors. Ever since Disney/Marvel announced Part II was being re-branded as Avengers 4 with an unknown title, my personal theory has always been Infinity Gauntlet.
  14. I mean, there was obviously more to it, but none of it stood out. I remember Batman in a metal suit fighting Superman, but I don't remember how that fight is resolved (i assume kryptonite). I remember Wonder Woman making an appearance and thinking "she's the only saving grace to this movie." I remember "is she with you?" "No, I thought she was with you." I remember Jesse Eisenberg's (or whatever his name is) god awful Lex Luthor. I mean, I remember bits and pieces of the movie, but I don't recall anything with full clarity as I do with scenes/movies from the MCU. I can't remember how the movie starts and i can't remember how it ends. That's a big problem when a movie fails to capture me in that way. There's no denying BvS was a hot mess and was a truly forgettable film. The fact that people harped on and made meme's about "Martha" is what made it memorable. But if it matters, the film was too dark (tonally and from a color pallette perspective), the characters are shades of what we know they should be or what they can be, the plot (from what little I recollect) was a mess, the movie was rushed (should have been drawn out to 2 films, but WB was playing catch up to Marvel and had to rush it. Same with Justice League...rushed).
  15. Honestly, other than the fact that she was in the movie, I don't remember anything about BvS. How she was introduced, what she did (though I remember she was the best part of the movie). In fact, the only bit I remember is "Martha!!!" I don't think it's insane at all. Black Panther was a cultural hit and really pulled in audience members who aren't comic book fans and BP was the first MCU movie they saw. Infinity War was always going to cater strongly to the comic book crowd and those who have been following along for the last decade.
  16. According to Jim Lee's Twitch stream, Frank Miller is scheduled to sign at Torpedo Comics at the end of June. So I'm not sure it would screw anything up if the facilitator still intends to attend the signing. I hope everything works out for you.
  17. So today was my birthday and my dad comes over to my place with a brown paper bag with my gift. I'm of that age where I don't expect a gift anymore so it was a bit of a surprise, but he knows I like reading/collecting comics. I look inside and can see comics nestled inside bags and boards. I gently pull the books out and what do I find? Two copies of the Cape & Cowl variant. I look at him and ask incredulously "you waited in line for these? How did you even hear about it? I didn't know until Thursday (courtesy of this thread) and by then they were sold out." Well, apparently he had heard about the release in the news and pre-ordered 2 copies. I was still a bit leery, "you bought these. In the store? Not online? Do you know how much they're selling for online?" "Yeah, in store, great shop. How much is it online?", he responds. I looked on eBay and proceeded to tell him "recent sales of ~$150" to which he got excited like finding a diamond in the rough. I think it has made him really happy because he kept bringing it up all night. I'm sure the price of the book will drop eventually, but I'll always have the memory/story to go along with them. (note: photo was taken after I had placed the books in mylar)
