  1. Literally had no idea until you pointed it out. Wondering if whoever created the label used the numbers above the letters on the keyboard instead of the 10 key and just fat fingered a 0 instead of a 9.
  2. I've sent an offer or two that's about 60% of what the seller has listed as BIN. I basically lay out how I arrived at my offer by providing recent sales. If there are no recent sales, I'll take similar sales items and then add a premium to account for the fact that the seller's book is one of a kind (this is more the case when looking at signature series books or remark/sketches). I always try to be polite and logical. If the seller rudely dismisses it, I'd probably rather not be putting money in their pockets anyways.
  3. @AshleyHabedank Off topic, but if you guys could get Jonathan Hickman to do a private signing, that would be greatly appreciated.

  5. For the difference between a Press and a Quick Press. https://www.cgccomics.com/ccs-pressing/ FastTrack just moves you ahead of the queue. If you've ever been to Disneyland, think of it like the wait between the standard queue and the FastPass line. You're just paying so that your book gets pressed before non-paying customers.
  6. When I ship high value books, it's always in a priority box. I'd much rather pay the additional $10 on shipping for all the added protection it offers.
  7. Did you do any basic research or did you just mail your book on a whim and hope it would make it back to you? That said, there is a helpful website that can answer your questions. If you go to www.cgccomics.com that's probably a good place to start.
  8. Yeah, this is normal. Depending on how busy they are, I've heard of times where it's taken like 3 weeks to appear as "received" in the system.
  9. Were your books taped to the middle of the board or were they free to slide around? I've received packages like this that seem sturdy enough, but open it to find out the bagged/boarded books aren't affixed in place where the edges of the cardboard can take the brunt of the damage and instead the books themselves got corner damaged. Conversely, I've shipped books sandwiched between 4 sheets of cardboard and firmly taped to the middle to avoid movement and have yet to have any issues with corner damage. /knockonwood
  10. Depends on how they're handled at the comic shop as well. Grades will range anywhere from an 8.0 to 9.6. How would I know? I submitted some of my own books from the 90s. Lowest I got was an 8.0. Highest I got was a 9.6.
  11. HA! Love that he signed in green and drew a pizza slice.
  12. I would normally wait to post a slabbed book, but the timing on this is too perfect given her upcoming appearance in The Mandalorian. When rumors of her appearance began circulating I was like "who is this beloved character Star Wars fans keep talking about?". I binge watched The Clone Wars and Rebels in April/May and found out for myself that all the hype was true. Since then, I haven't been able to get enough of one of the most amazing, well developed Star Wars characters. I present, Ahsoka Tano by Todd Nauck. On its way to CGC for the Ashley Eckstein private signing.
  13. What are comics? In March, I resorted to using any and all paper products as toilet paper.
  14. Funny, I was waiting for Ahsoka to make an appearance and then making one with Ahsoka in the foreground and Bo in the background.
  15. Yeah, I get this sense too given the amount of volume that flows through Desert Wind/Celestial Comics. While I don't expect CGC to intervene, in your experience, does that same protection extend to the Probation/HoS List? Or have CGC board mods deleted similar posts in the past? Anyone can nominate another boardie to be added to the list. I would recommend reading the nomination rules in the respective Board section and then writing up a fool proof post/argument stating your case. I jokingly brought up Buzzetta because they have kindly written the last two, but should in no way be expected to write up everyone's nomination posts.
  16. And here, I bet @Buzzetta thought he wouldn't have to worry about writing up a Probation/HoS nomination for a while. It might be time to warm up those finger tips. :P
  17. I've never once clicked on such an eBay listing. If someone posts a $10,000 X-Force #1, what on earth would lead a person to believe that the rest of their listings are any more reasonable?
  18. Been a while since I've gotten that credit, but if I remember correctly, you're not actually charged until CGC receives your book. I believe they send you an invoice at that time, and then if the credit doesn't appear at that time, you have to call the accounting department to have it adjusted/revised. But I haven't sent my own books in since before the online forms were available so it could have changed in the last 2 years.
  19. I didn't even know that was a thing, but that definitely seems like a more appropriate place to find appreciative like minded fans.
  20. There's a lot of mental hoops to jump through to justify posting on eBay to show off your collection like that. If you want others to see your one of a kind books, go post them to a FB group or Instagram or Twitter.
  21. My buddy showed me his portfolio. That sucker is heavy. His is just under the bed.
  22. There are some services out there where you can pre-order 9.8s. There's of course the odd issue where the entire shipment is damaged and the provider is unable guarantee a 9.8 for all their customers, but otherwise seems like the best bet. I think Twin Cities Comics once provided this service, but I'm not sure if that's still the case.
