  1. God, waiting a whole year is gonna be agony. Is the Boba Fett show a spinoff or is that the arc for season 3?
  2. That jpeg link didn't work for me, but I assume you're referring to the Artgerm cover? He's got some great covers, but I do like that one in particular. I especially love all the bat/cat/wedding iconography that is sprinkled throughout.
  3. Turnaround times are estimates, not accurate counts. Once your book is subbed, it becomes a waiting game. You just gotta be patient.
  4. I'm young and naive, but I'm going with Kirby, Joe Kubert, Jim Lee, and I'll leave the 4th to you guys. I imagine Kubert is a curious addition, but I think there have been so many well known artists who have gone through the art school. It's like looking at a modern day (American) football coaching tree and seeing that everything goes back to the great Bill Walsh.
  5. If I recall correctly, same box, but you'll have to fill out different forms for each type of submission. And you'll have to pay return shipping for each type as well. Let's say you sent 6 books for the following submissions: 2 modern 2 modern with CCS 2 modern for private signing I believe that counts as 3 different submission types and will require 3 separate forms with 3 separate form fees and 3 separate return shipping fees. It's one of the annoying aspects of dealing with CGC (they won't hold books to save you a few bucks).
  6. There's something so sincere about Patty Jenkins reveal announcement that alone gets me hyped. And now I wish she could direct Captain Marvel.
  7. Ron Lim Silver Surfer. I mean, take your pick from his run, there's no wrong answer. Michael Turner Supergirl. I get that his style isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I love the big eyes and heavy eye shadow on his female figures. His run on Superman and then Batman/Superman was my first introduction to him and thus why I'm most drawn to his Supergirl. Josh Middleton's Batman #50 variant with Catwoman on the cover is an absolute stunner. The detail of the eyes is just so striking. And the way the color pops in an otherwise white/black cover blew my mind the first time I got a copy in my hands. I love love LOVE this cover.
  8. Read the sales rules and then post in the correct sub-forum. GLWTS. Comics Market - Forum Only Selling Area - CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards (cgccomics.com)
  9. He pretty much answered his own question. Mask of the Phantasm would be the first comic appearance. Batman/Catwoman #1 is the 1st in continuity. It's the same as how 1st Harley Quinn is Batman Adventures #12 and 1st in continuity is Batman: Harley Quinn.
  10. Both? Who's signatures are you sending in for? If you're having an artist commissioned sketch piece, you'll need to get a creator form from CGC. Fill out the online form for the private CGC signings. Then fill out a standard form for the sketch artist. Send the sketch cover, the creator form, the private signing form, and the standard form to the artist. The artist will do the sketch, fill out the creator form, and they'll send all the paperwork directly to CGC. Emphasis on the creator sends the sketch directly to CGC in order to maintain the chain of authentication. This is as far as I've gotten with the process as my book is currently with CGC waiting for the private signing. It's been awhile, but I think CGC will charge your account at the time of signing.
  11. If you're looking for a particular book, then you'll want to post in this section of the boards: Comics Market - Want To Buy! - CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards (cgccomics.com)
  12. The shows ability to humanize and give the Clones personality is one of its strengths. And as others have said, the events that occur throughout the series really changes how the prequel trilogy is viewed. I just recently finished re-watching the PT's and a lot of the beats REALLY hit differently (in particular Order 66). That said, Clone Wars is largely divided into arcs. Hopefully your son is at least watching the episode arcs in order and not truly watching the episodes randomly. Clone Wars spoiler reference below...
  13. I fully agree. I think some of those arcs feel like filler the first time you see them, but after watching the full series, I realize that there's a lot of character building that occurs as well. Like the kyber crystal arc doesn't progress the story or impact any future stories, but it's a stepping stone for showcasing the character development that Ahsoka has gone through between season 1 and season 3 (or whichever season that was). It also provides moments that endure the character to viewers and ultimately makes the end more worthwhile. The entire Umbara arc is another great example of an arc that is self contained and skippable if you're in a crunch. But without it, the viewer misses out on the humanity behind the Clone Troopers. I liken it to Hickman's FF/Avengers/Secret Wars epic. You can read Secret Wars by itself and understand things just fine. But if you go all the way back and read FF through Secret Wars, you get a full appreciation of just what Hickman was hoping to achieve.
  14. I'm rewatching with my sister and provided a pared down episode list that cuts the filler. For anyone who doesn't want to watch every episode nor do they want to sit through the whole movie, the only important part of the movie is the first 30 minutes as it serves to introduce the main character. EDIT: the only important part "OF THE MOVIE". Didn't mean to imply the whole series. You can cut the series down to about 60 episodes and get all the important stuff you need to understand the "heroes journey".
  15. Best thing to happen to Star Wars since the original trilogy. @Wolverinex The show starts off slow and the main protagonist is childish and annoying. But it really finds it's groove around season 2. There are admittedly filler episodes, but the journey overall is satisfying. The show largely settles into a rhythm of 3-4 episode arcs. If you think of the final 4 episode arc as a movie, it would undoubtedly stand as one of the top 4 Star Wars movies of all time.
  16. Me after seeing episode 13: How are they going to top that? Favreau/Filoni/Rodriguez: Hold my beer.
  17. Just toss them in the trash. In the past I've sent them with my books in the hopes that CGC updates the census.
  18. First comic that I purchased? Or that my dad purchased for me? In any case, here's both side by side (or at least what I think are the firsts). On the left, Batman 445 which my dad bought me and the book that likely started it all. My memory's hazy so it's just as possible that my first book could have been an early Marvel Robocop or some Disney comic, but pretty sure it all started in early 1990. On the right, Batman 611. I had stopped collecting by 1996 and switched to Magic cards. In the early 2000's, every now and then when I went to the book store, I would go to the graphic novel section and flip through the TPB's to kill time. I came across ASM v2 #36 and was blown away by the emotional power of the writing. I never recalled being amazed by the writing as a kid. The art always appealed to me more. Fast forward to 2003 and I had just left the theater after watching X2 and thought I'd stop by the comic shop for nostalgia's sake. By this point I had a college job and could buy stuff on my own. I didn't intend to buy anything but ended up talking to the employee at the register who said Jim Lee was doing Batman with Jeph Loeb. Even as a kid, I remembered Jim's artwork (he actually stopped by the local shop for a Heroes Reborn signing event and my first signed book (not graded) is Fantastic Four v2 #1). The fact that the early books in his Batman run were sold out had me intrigued so I bought #614 (the new release that month) along with whatever recent issues were still available on the shelf. I could only go as far back as #611 as everything prior had sold out. I've been collecting books every month since that fateful visit in May.
  19. That was the shop I would go to. Sucks that they closed as a result of covid. Seems like it was something that Lee was thinking about and that covid ultimately hastened that decision.
  20. My wife's a 10. At least she would be if I were married.
