  1. How many books were sent in your first submission? Sounds like you submitted at least two books with different submission levels and thus required your order to be split. Thus being charged for shipping twice. I am rather shocked though as I feel like the minimum shipping rate for me has almost always been like $25+.
  2. YEAH!.......How the hell is he supposed to send a Paypal refund to that address??? Haha, didn't know TCC needed to successfully complete a CAPTCHA to issue payment.
  3. I don't think their policy has changed, but I'm pretty sure they still do no encapsulate COA's with the slab. Is it possible the book is in a CGC sized mylar bag and that the COA is merely within the bag? That's how I keep my COA's.
  4. Is that a lower case l? Or an upper case I? The email address is literally illegible.
  5. TCC: Yes, I can send you the book on January 19th. TCC after January 19th: How am I supposed to ship the book if I don't have an address? <fast forward to today> TCC: Yes, I can PayPal by 8pm. TCC after 8pm: How am I supposed to pay if I don't have a PayPal address? I'm seeing a pattern...
  6. I dunno. For anyone that's followed this thread, that window slammed shut at least 10 pages ago.
  7. At this point, Polonsky should be paid with the same expediency as though SDCC tickets just became available and you needed to log online to buy them ASAP. (I've never gone to SDCC, is that how tickets work?)
  8. I'll take "Locked, Poo fed, and Pen is" for $800, Trebek.
  9. Disconcerting considering the whole point of "registered" mail is that it has to be tracked and signed every step of the way. If the post office isn't going to bother with a signature, then I might as well save myself some money and have my books sent 2 day priority mail. I hope this gets resolved for you.
  10. I imagine the 338 cover would fetch a decent chunk of change at auction.
  11. I had forgotten what it felt like checking every moment for my submission status to update...
  12. And what wine are you pairing with it?
  13. I know you mentioned there was blame to both sides, but in fairness, TCC's joking tones earlier in this thread were just as out of place, if not more so. Given how long the process has taken, I don't think you could really fault Polonsky if his patience is beginning to wear thin and he makes a little wise crack here and there. I said it before and I'll reiterate it again, this is one of the faults that both sides are guilty of. Both parties are to blame for the back and forth regarding the address. TCC knew he was going to need the address to ship on time and should have asked for it. You knew TCC didn't have your address and should have reached out to provide it. When I cement a deal, payment and address are the first two things I provide within a day of invoice. (Side note, I know you cc'd TCC, but given his prior statement that he doesn't "read the boards", perhaps a PM or a reminder via Instagram would be more beneficial. Otherwise, I can just see him coming back and claiming he didn't see this post until next week.) I think this right here was the problem with the post. If it's a trusted seller, I too prefer payment via check. Books are expensive, I don't like paying another 3% in PayPal fees. (And yes, I realize the fallacy in believing in a "trusted seller" given the actions we've seen from two recent boardies.)
  14. Buy what you like. Think long and hard about the long term satisfaction you'll get from a bunch of "little" books vs a grail.
  15. In the event anyone knows where these pieces can be found or if by chance the owner eventually decides to part with either one, please let me know. Thanks.
  16. Mine are tucked away in the closet as well. I haven't played since Tempest. I enjoy the nostalgia factor and the ability to go back and look through the binders of cards from time to time. For me at least, the value of holding my collection is greater than what I could get by selling them.
  17. I've got so many old comics I'll sell you at cover price. All those books from the '90s/'00s are ready to take off.
  18. I don't think you can blame the wine in this case. The onus clearly falls on the drinker to read the label. Drinking an Auslese and expecting a Chardonnay is like looking at pictures of a G/VG book and being shocked when it doesn't arrive NM.
  19. Ashley Eckstein signed on Feb 20th. Matt Lanter signed on Feb 27th. Both posted on their Instagram.
  20. Isn't this better suited for the Comic Events sub-forum? Comic Events - CGC Comic Book Collectors Chat Boards (cgccomics.com)
  21. What does Grade Category = REJECT mean? Does that mean QA determined it was an incorrect label and that it should have gone back to be reslabbed? Don't even get me started on the grade date.
