  1. Me whenever I play Goblin Bombardment (or Haphazard Bombardment) https://youtu.be/Ko7n98LGws4?t=25
  2. Hickman because he's literally the last signature I'm seeking.
  3. They do press foil covers. I've had a foil book pressed before. Though, I'm confused what a metal cover is.
  4. Sounds like their sub service is sub-par. Personally, I haven't shopped at Midtown since the way they handled their Action Comics #1000 exclusive. I know they don't miss me, but whatever. They have a large selection if you're trying to fill holes in your run, other than that, it feels like they've let their size get to them.
  5. If you believe a business is failing its duties and that a better service can be provided, there is certainly a market space for it. Round up some funding and open a competing entity to take business share away from CGC. It worked for Hakkasan Group in Las Vegas after all (can't find the article, but basically ultra wealthy guy got upset because he didn't get the table he wanted at another nightclub and basically said he was going to make a bigger and better club. Now most of the major clubs on the Strip are owned by his investment group).
  6. The line between 9.6 and 9.8 is so fine at this point, I might as well just buy up 9.6 versions of keys at a discount and re-submit them when grading is less strict. I still don't even know what qualifies books for a 10. For example, those thick DC Black Label books that are square bound. Most of the damage occurs to the binding, but assuming I have sharp corners, I don't even know where they're finding enough to deduct points. Not only that, but how do they look at the inside without damaging the book. Surely that would introduce a crease.
  7. Spending all this money on comics and y'all can't even afford one of these to get the air out of your bags. Or up your investment potential by getting a vacuum sealer. But for'reals, when it comes to standard bags/boards, I stack my books on top of each other to push the air out. For mylar, when you put it in a box, the pressure from the surrounding books should be enough.
  8. The 9.6 will cost about $30-40 all together to slab so I imagine your profit on those would be very small. On top of that, the likelihood of there being books less than 9.6 is very high. It's entirely possible there are as many 9.4s (if not more) as there are 9.8s. Given such a scenario, you would end up taking a loss on those books and they would offset any potential gains from sales of 9.8s.
  9. Schrodinger's comic postulates that a sealed and unseen comic book is in a state of quantum superposition such that it is both a 10 and 0.5 at the same time.
  10. Been a while since I've subbed books, but if I recall, submissions of the same type are lumped together. So all Modern subs would be sent back in a FedEx shipment. All Value subs in another. Basically, different services, different shipping. Kind of annoyed me that they couldn't help save me money and lump my shipments into one thing.

  12. Hi All and welcome to my first sales thread on the boards. I've bought from a number of boardies in the past and my Kudos page can be found here, and eBay feedback here. Firstly, the rules (please read carefully since this is my first sales thread): 1) No HoS and PL members. 2) Domestic Shipping within US via Priority Mail - $15. If ordering multiple books, shipping rates may differ depending on how many books I can safely put in a box. In such an event, I will confirm with USPS to see how much shipping a large box is and notify the buyer. 3) International Shipping - TBD. I've only ever shipped large boxes overseas so I don't know what the rates are on medium sized boxes. If you are an international buyer, I can find out the shipping rate. Please bear in mind, if there are any customs charges, whether on my end or on your end, I will not be responsible for those charges. Any custom fees incurred by me will be added to your invoice. 4) Returns WILL be accepted for items damaged in transit if a reholder deal cannot be reached. Returns WILL NOT be accepted if you have a change of heart after item has shipped, or if you ordered for a friend who now hasn't paid you back, or for any of the other stories that have been passed around the boards. 5) Payment via PayPal Goods and Services or Personal check is accepted. If paying via check, package will not be shipped until the check has been received and cleared by my bank. 6) First wins. In the case of multiple members claiming via the board or PM, time stamps will be used to determine the winner. In the case where you live overseas or are buying multiple books and your decision to purchase is dependent on the final shipping costs only, please claim via thread or PM and I will put the book on hold for you while I determine the shipping costs. Should you find the shipping costs unsatisfactory, just let me know and I will release the hold for the next interested buyer. 7) No threadcrapping please. If you find the list prices to be egregious, you're welcome to PM your thoughts and concerns. Otherwise, market dynamics concerning supply, demand, and equilibrium price has worked for thousands of years, and I see no reason why this sale will be any different. Books: Regarding the books, for sale is one copy each of the J Scott Campbell Store Exclusive SDCC 2018 Amazing Spider-Man #800 virgin covers. All books have been signed, pressed, slabbed and include the J Scott Campbell Store COA (for whatever that's worth). I do have the whole set, but I am a fan of the Gwen Stacy/MJ covers and would prefer to keep those. In the off chance that anyone wants the full set, we can work something out. If anyone cares, the final JSC copy counts were: Cover A: Spider-Man, limited to 1,200 copiesCover B: MJ, limited to 1,200 copiesCover C: Black Cat, limited to 1,200 copiesCover D: Venom, limited to 1,000 copiesCover E: Green Goblin, limited to 1,100 copiesCover F: Gwen Stacy, limited to 1,200 copiesCover G: Dr. Octopus, limited to 1,000 copiesCover H: Red Goblin, limited to 1,000 copiesCover I: Spider-Man, black outfit, limited to 1,000 copies Without further pomp and circumstance, let's get started. Hopefully I didn't miss anything important, if I did, please let me know or feel free to PM me any questions.
  13. I agree with @revat. "Fast Track" is merely intended to be faster than normal service. If you want a more immediate service, then you would probably pay for Express or Walkthrough (if you were are a convention). Secondly, a lot of businesses are likely impacted by Covid which has in turn slowed down some services. You could hire part time workers to make up for it, but no one's trying to make the workspace more dense currently, they're trying to do the opposite. Additionally, why hire extra staff for something that is expected to be a short term (less than a year) hiccup? I can't imagine many businesses expect (or hope) to be in this same situation come July 2021. It just means that when service returns to some normalcy, they'll be overstaffed. And lastly, I've just learned to accept it. Do I really need my book back this week vs two months from now? Not really. The anticipation lies in finally seeing the grade. But in terms of safety, CGC's about as safe a place outside my own home that my book can be. What I REALLY worry about, is when it leaves CGC and spends 2 weeks making it's way through the delivery service because they definitely don't treat your books as well as CGC does.
  14. Your estimated turnaround time begins when it hits received status. "days" refers to business days. So if the Fast Track turnaround time is 15 "days", that's really 3 weeks. If it's not in received status, then the books are likely still sitting in a shipping box waiting to be entered by their receiving department.
  15. Yeah, when I say I've done it temporarily, I mean a week at most. Under most circumstances, i'll lay a stack of books flat to prop up the rest. Or like I said, I'll use a full stack of 100 backing boards to serve the same purpose. The skyscraper method is more so if I'm waiting for a new order of backing boards to ship.
  16. I believe you should be able to submit to CCS for pressing and then CGC for grading and it should maintain the chain of authentication. Note, it definitely wouldn't be a re-holder, it'd be a full priced submission. Just make sure that the pressing and grading are all on the same form.
  17. One thing I've done in the past (only as a short term solution) is place several layers of backing board on one end of the box and then stand it up on it's end so it's erect like a pe...err, skyscraper. I also alternate my books front to front, back to back, otherwise the staple side is thicker than the flip side of the books. Alternatively, depending on how many books are in a box, just lay them flat until you have enough books to stand them. Or stand the books normally and then lay a 100 pack of boards on it's side preventing the books from sliding or falling over.
