  1. I'm not sure I fully understand your ramblings so forgive me if I come across the wrong way or have misinterpreted what your saying. But it seems you have a total dislike (or disdain?) for Sal Buscema. He's certainly not the greatest artist out there but he drew The Spectacular Spider-Man long enough to trigger that 'Nostalgia kick' in collectors that were reading his comics at the time. I think @grapeape hit the nail on the head. I have similar story, yet I guess I could be considered a new collector, I bought my 1st piece in 2017. I grew up reading 80s comics handed down to me, then started buying my own in the 90s. The art from artist I would like to purchase from my 'sweet spot' are either too expensive or extremely rare (Byrne, Todd McFarlane, Erik Larsen). Sal Buscema is the consolation prize I guess, but I've learnt to appreciate his art since I've become a collector. In addition to this, I also love the art beyond the nostalgic feeling it gives. It was a modern artist that made me realise that comic art is available to buy and got me collecting in the first place.
  2. I'll buy it from you for $2000 if you ever feel like selling 😉
  3. I'm a newbie collector. I've been buying art for less than 4 years and in that time I've seen prices move up, especially for particular artists. The 1st piece of art I wanted to buy was a double page spread from a newly released comic. At the drop, I got sticker shock at the price. 3k, way more than I intended to spend. In the very short time that I convinced myself that I would still buy it (mere minutes), the artwork was already gone. Since then, prices for that artist have sky rocketed, and I fear that I'm now priced out. I really wish I bought that DPS at 3k without thinking twice. Currently, it seems, the market is moving quickly.
  4. 'Swept their own backtrail? I'm unfamiliar with this term, what does it mean exactly?
  5. Does anyone know how to get ahold of new Mark Bagley art? I know his older stuff is being sold through dealers, but recently I've noticed collectors with pages from Spider-Man:Life Story and ASM #850, so I know some how out there he's making his new art available, yet I get nothing through my google searches.....Can anyone help? Many thanks in advance.
  6. Hi @Ghazi, it's always nice to find a fellow collector from the city you live in this forum. I was under the impression that a majority of people here are from the U.S. Anyway, there's a framer I can throughly recommend. I haven't used them to frame my comic art yet but they have created many bespoke frames for my other (contemporary) art purchases. They're called Frame Land and are located about half way down Brick Lane. The guy is very competitive, the prices are great and I'm always pleased with his work. https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tZP1zcsSa8wzCjKNmC0UjWoMLEwNzNMTjIzTkkxSk60MLcyqEgzMjM2SExMMU00SjRPNDLz4korSsxNVchJzEsBAFjgEvI&q=frame+land&oq=Frame+lan&aqs=chrome.1.0i355i457j46i175i199j0l2j69i57j0l2j46i175i199.3015j0j9&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  7. Yes, I did have a similar reaction and thoughts. But I'm based in the UK where comic artists rarely ever venture to, so I have no choice. I would periodically keep 'pestering' them, I'm sure you'll get there eventually. Good luck!
  8. The page I ordered has finally arrived. Really pleased and thankful to receive my order. Big thanks to the Board member helping me out with this one Also, another page I had my eye on was instantly snapped up, only to appear on ComicArtFans about a week later so it looks like it's business as usual at Cadence
  9. I'm actually having this very same issue myself. I've had multiple dealings with Cadence and they can ship art promptly though once before I received radio silence, so funnily enough enough this is not the first time I've had this issue. Does anyone know if they are on vacation? I paid for the art late November....
