I've been making some real headway into completing a run from 39 - 108 (I already have a 39 so I picked that as my starting point
) and I have most of the major keys in this run with the exception of 45 and 46. My 49 is a bit of franken-book I think. I have it as a 1.5 but the staples (3) seem to be a replacement and the only reason the cover is attached.
Considering pulling the trigger on one of the following:
CGC 4.0 #45
#49 would probably target a 4.0
CGC 5.0 - King Size #6
Thoughts on which has he most upside?
Here's some pictures of the fugly #49
49 in a 4.0 all day for me

Feels great, doesn’t it?
FF48 is a colossal comic, congratulations. Thanks! I will post some pics when it gets here. Not that it will look any different than the one above but it will be in my house so it will be objectively better.

The excitement of ordering a grail level book when you found a good deal and nice copy is so addictive. I can't wait for this to get here haha. Will just need 50 to complete the trilogy and luckily that one is pretty cheap.

Sorry to hear about the sale falling through
I must say you have a great attitude about it though.
There's a nice presenting CGC 3.0 on Ebay right now from Australia for $2100 or best offer, that converts to $1529 US. For some reason I can't copy and paste the link.Yep I have been watching that one as well, thanks!

Sounds like a nightmare you probably would of just ended up with problems if you did buy the book of this guy from the sound of it. Hopefully you do manage to find one of the books you are looking for in your price range
Yeah I agree. And thanks
And honestly I probs would have talked myself into paying full price if he had responded with 'Hey sorry I don't have the notes, and don't really have much wiggle room on price'. It is that easy haha

Well my lead on the FF12 fell through because the seller is not the most fun to work with. Even if you are super firm on price (which I am fine with, its his book, he can price how he wants) there is always something to be said about being respectful to potential buyers asking questions. I asked if he had grader notes and he said 'you can just buy them for $15 or whatever....LOL', I also asked if he could come down a bit on price (it was $1500 for a 3.0) since the last GPA was $1100 (I told him I have no problem paying more than GPA, was just hoping for something closer to $1300 since we would be doing Paypal FF and that was a bit closer to GPA) and he said 'I am a leader not a follower. All my books will sell at these prices'
Okie dokie bud good luck.So if anyone is looking to move an FF12, FF6, FF52, or FF48 for ~$1500 or so let me know.

On 10/2/2021 at 7:07 AM, Sweet Lou 14 said:#12 is by far the most classic cover in the bunch, followed by #48. My feeling is that no FF collection is complete without those two.
ASM #5 is probably the weakest of that group, especially for an FF / Doom collector -- yes it's Doom but from my personal experience as a buyer in the market the demand for it is softer than any of the other single-digit ASM books except #8.
I have a lead on a nice looking 3.0 FF 12 that I am gonna try and make happen soon. Thanks for the advice!

I personally would get the Fantastic Four 6 second appearance of a major villain and a really cool cover
Yeah I am leaning toward 12 or 6 right now. I do really like Black Panther but 12 and 6 seem harder to find.

Need some advice. Setting money aside to pick up a new FF in the next two months or so. Out of the following which would you guys go for?
FF12 (3.0), FF52 (4.5-5.0), FF6 (3.0-4.0), ASM 5 (3.0ish yeah this is ASM but it is Doom), FF48 (like 3.0 maybe)
For reference, I have FF5 and 49 already, and then some smaller random FFs.

Maybe the DD rumors for the new spider flick ??
Lol the people who think it is the White Shirt Lawyer Guy are going to be pretty sad. Someone posted a video of the new trailer when it was in Imax, and with the increased ratio you can see the guy's face and it is not Charlie Cox. But who knows he could still be in it I guess

What are the top 10 marvel silver keys?
in Silver Age Comic Books
Posted
Gonna resurrect this with one or two Hot Takes on my pretty subjective list.
1) AF 15
2) Fantastic Four 5
3) Hulk 1
4) Fantastic Four 1
5) X-Men 1
6) Journey into Mystery 83
7) Tales of Suspense 39
8) Fantastic Four 48
9) Daredevil 1
10) Avengers 1
I think FF5 > FF1. Still a very early FF issue and Doom as one of the first big marvel Supervillains I think set a standard. I know I am probably objectively wrong here tho![lol lol](//content.invisioncic.com/r266625/emoticons/27_laughing.gif.62deb96933a6d30aaf250d01cf4616c7.gif)
FF48 was so important to Cosmic Marvel, which imo is some of the best stories ever written. Cosmic stuff is dope.
Spider-Man 1 is overrated
Avengers 1 and DD 1 are underrated
