  1. Just to bump this thread a bit and stir the pot.  Maybe this has been raised on this board before (maybe by me?)...but I often am in awe when I think about the kids that got to see these amazing GA covers on the newsstands each month.  That is one of the reasons I love the Pre-Robins...the darkness, the amazing cover etc.

Just amazing.  My favorite is 37.

Being a life long collector of comic books, I believe Jon probably felt this was the easiest way for him to sell his collection and give him peace of mind at the same time, as opposed to torturously dragging it out to over multiple auctions.  He probably also felt that this was probably the mst effective way to pass his books to as many of the next generation of collectors as possible which was supposedly one of his goals.

I think you are right, after all, that is how I was able to afford Jon's copy of Tec 27...

Unfortunately it is only the Oreo reprint...but I have one of his books! :)

Thanks.  Jason put together a beautiful collection of books.  I wasn't planning on a purchase of this magnitude, but opportunities to acquire a group of books like this don't come along very often.  For a Planet collector, it doesn't get much better than this!

And to think that a little over a year ago, I was a simple Silver collector working to finish off some Marvel runs.  Then typhoid Rick (aka Ricksneatstuff) infected me with the Planet disease.

Now I obsess over Planets, constantly seek them out, and spend what used to seem like ridiculous amounts of money on comic books :insane:.

Well done!  You can never have too many Planets!

2019 wasn't a very eventful year for me, but I was really happy to upgrade my copy of Detective 35 CGC 6.5 MP (R) to a CGC Universal 5.5. With only 1 copy in 8.5 (has never surfaced), 1 in 7.5 and 1 in 6.5 out of a Total of 45 copies, it was the best I could ever hope to get.

Happy Holidays to you John and to all CGC board members !

I own books with kids names written on them(Tommy Thorson, anyone?), and I guess to me it just depends on its placement on the cover and it’s level of neatness.

I have 2 from the Tommy Thorson collection, one with the name and one without...cool collection, nice to know another quality boardie has one (although I cannot compare mine to your fine collection overall!)
