You’re looking at something different, an oversize (Carole Danvers) Capt Marvel piece next to the Crime Illo cover in the other section

Yep, that's the one. I thought that was too modern for kane lol. Thanks for the response anyways

BTW, TDArt was the rep and she was so great to work with.  I recommend and will be going back to again.

Glad to gear you had such a great experience. Probably half of mine are frustrating in some manner. (In fact, I'm waiting on a response as we speak on a few pieces i inquired about last week) Feel like i have to beg reps to take my money at times. It can really sap the fun out of the hobby, so it's nice to be reminded there's still some good out there lol

Does anyone know Greg Land's dealer or how to contact him?  Thanks.

Tom at Fanfare used to be his rep, but retired a few months back. You could try and get in touch with him (through the old site) and see if he has any contact info for Greg.

I spoke with Greg at Heroes back in June and at that point he hadn't decided what his next move would be regarding sales.

I'm all over the place. Classic stuff, new stuff. I still love reading comics. I'm very eclectic from a genre perspective. If I like the creative team working on a project then I'll read it. So, that puts me a bit all over the place. My BIG genre, however, is horror.

I took a look at your CAF link you've got some real neat art. That Wonder Woman commission is fantastic!

Thanks for the kind comments. I recognized you from that DWJ complete issue you have. I remember you posting on here about that, and how excited you were.

I used to be into collected editions but sold most of them off earlier this year, so i haven't read many comics in the last 6 months or so. Creator-owned was where it was at for me mostly the last several years. Image, Dark Horse, etc have been a great avenue for creators to flex their creative muscles.

I had that WW commissioned at Heroes this year. Matteo is a cool dude, even though his prices jumped considerably this year. I won't hold that against him lol

Killer! nice to meet you man! Welcome to the group :)

What kind of comics / comic art are you into?

    I'm Keith

Mostly modern/current superhero stuff. I don't have much affinity for pre '90 or so (and most of that nostalgic sweet spot is out of my range unfortunately). Started out collecting covers mostly, but have gotten into panel pages more so recently.

Just grabbed this Jeremy Haun Batwoman page off Cadence.

Not sure who's all aware, but Jeremy's family suffered a tragedy (his wife's sister and cousin's lives were taken by a drunk driver) and he's currently raising funds for travel/related expenses. He's opened up a special commissions list and placed his art on sale for the time being, so check it out if interested!!

Yikes. That’s like the spoilage amount for most runs.

    2500 copies... UGH lol

There's no way that makes money.

Todd must just be willing to publish it at a loss because he can.

Spawn #299 sold over 60k according to July numbers, so it's doing fine lol. Those August numbers must be for subsequent printings or residual sales

For most art reps, this IS a side thing. At least it used to be. I think fulltime reps are becoming more common as they can concentrate more on the product than a dealer rep. But some of these reps have way too many clients to keep track of.

That's what i don't get though. In a competitive market, why would some of the biggest names settle for armchair representation? They're basically doing the reps a favor (by allowing them a cut) in my eyes. Anyone with internet access could sell their pages lol.

I guess what it boils down to is, as i jumped into a next level hobby (financially speaking) i expected more considering the money tossed around. It's almost like 1k, 3k or 10k has lost it's significance in regards to artwork.

I've had a few several thousand dollar orders (by different reps) mailed without tracking provided? I mean, what normal person so casually handles transactions of that sort? Another purchase, it took the rep almost 3 weeks to figure out he didn't have the piece i had already inquired about, negotiated and paid for lol.

  9. I'll chime in with some of the same. Pieces without a price/inquire is a pass.

As someone who's only been in the hobby for about 3 years, it still boggles my mind how casual some of the reps treat their business. Like it's a side gig they'll get to when it's convenient, not keeping up with inventory, etc. I realize a lot of pieces sell themselves to an extent, but c'mon. I'd be pissed as an artist if i knew how lax my rep was being towards sales, especially with the amount of money involved. But maybe they put a higher priority on things like con appearances & travel accommodations (not sure if this is standard for rep services)

I'm not going to apologize for anybody else's business but...it's only been a week? You could have put June 8th for the tone of the rest of the post.

Unless he is going to a con, going to a hospital, has other things going on, etc. A week may seem lengthy, but I wouldn't start wondering and get concerned, before a month.

I don't think anyone has an issue waiting, it's the lack of communication that is the problem. In Paolo's defense, he did have a family emergency, but when you run a business you should have contingencies in place, and in today's day and age it takes seconds to receive and respond. There's really no great excuse for a week to pass without contact

    2.5k I believe yes

Ok good to know. Before i placed a bid, they had a section on how to pay that mentioned cashiers check/mo, echeck or account credit, but didn't see a mention of cc.
