  1. Shower thoughts: Glad that Zack Snyder's Justice League was clearly canon for this. The movie doesn't feel as "epic" because of the lame OST. Basic strings and mainstream songs don't work often these days.
  2. They're copying all of the bad swaps from the comics reboot a decade ago, yeah. Lesson not learned. 'Memba this? I guess Feige doesn't.
  3. As I mentioned in the thread, in The Orb I can buy it, but there are other areas of Act III that look really bad compared to the rest of the movie.
  4. My theater was surprisingly quiet, but there were a lot of jokes that I laughed at.
  5. I did not necessarily like the way the conflict was resolved, but I'm struggling to imagine an alternative solution that still resolves it satisfyingly. So, I guess that part is fine in the end.
  6. For the most part, it actually feels like there's 2 Ezra Miller on screen together. The VFX really do fall apart in the 3rd act. Like, I completely forgot that there wasn't 2 Ezra Miller IRL until some PS3-level frames in Act III. The 3rd Act undeniably, and with weak bait, tries to elicit feelings of nostalgia. Some of it makes quite no sense, though. I guess we can just say the F-word and constantly make sexual references to the shorthand "Richard" in PG-13 films, now. There's a bit too much nudity for nudity's sake. Man, the VFX in The Orb were really bad, but at least there I buy it as a 3rd-person experience through time. Some of the polished VFX were definitely top-of-the-genre. Did I mention that the ending make literally no sense? Some of the fight choreography was also top-notch, as in the Snyder realm. Some absolutely clear homages to Snyder shots. Some stuff was copied from MoS, but the redid the VFX (probably for the angles), and it's definitely worse-looking. TL;DR: There's a lot to like, and also a lot to nitpick and/or outright scratch your head at.
  7. Modern Snake Oil is the BS hype that a salesman will massage you with.
  8. Welcome to the boards! Sounds like you may be around my age, as those 90's cartoons and pre-MCU Marvel movies fueled my love for comics, too. I didn't really start collecting until about 2013, though.
  9. I've decided to start dipping my toes deeper into the history of the medium: Men of Tomorrow The 10-Cent Plague
  10. I'll probably logon tonight to share first thoughts.
  11. Do you actually know which flaws are and aren't remediated via pressing? As for M.E. stuff, @CGC Mike.
  12. Square-bound comics like that are actually the only kind that I don't mind having pressed.
  13. It's something I want to buy someday, but I'll probably be able to find all 3 for $500 on eBay again.
  14. Do I agree with you that the average movie is bloated for reasons seemingly unknowable to me? Yes. However, I don't think that we should impose length restrictions, as this limits creativity. Being that this is both The Flash's first solo movie and an adaptation of Flashpoint, the runtime will likely be necessary.
  15. JRSR is a guy I'd laud for consistency in quantity more than outright quality (not to say that's lacking, just not upper-echelon for me).
  16. If there's animated stuff, similar to Multiverse of Madness, I will agree that that is stupid. Fusing mediums is not something that I think works in storytelling. Otherwise, grain of salt taken.
  17. CGC messed up by not giving it a Yellow/Green label, noting "Stan Lee written on cover".
  18. The corners don't look sharp to me, and the edges don't look flat. I could be over-analyzing. I probably disagree with that, yeah. (It's difficult for me to analyze defects in my imagination.)
  19. Appreciate the great pictures. I agree that a book with this defect could not grade higher than 9.2. Your copy looks to be in the 8.5 range as-is, IMO.
