  1. I'd really love to put GotG in my Top-10, but the way they distract/defeat Ronan (while funny) detracts from the overall greatness, a bit too much for me. I also had no idea that Mystery Men was comic-relative. I loved that movie as a kid.
  2. Aesthetically, I agree, that single issues > TPBs. There's just a simplicity to owning thousands of comics within hundreds of books, on a bookshelf, rather than thousands of issues in thousands of bags/boards in boxes. Some TPBs also don't include the covers for each issue, which I don't like. Hickman's Infinity series doesn't include the covers before each story, for example, and I hate it. I have all 6 Infinity comics, though, and can appreciate their covers nonetheless.
  3. I get it. But handling/storing single issues as opposed to a book/books of 6+ issues can be daunting after a certain threshold. It was fun for me to collect and read the New 52 Justice League, which is the only complete run that I own.
  4. It is a very long movie, and I know that most moviegoers and even MCU fans aren't as dedicated or hyped for this kind of event like I am. If it was more action-packed early on it probably would have had healthier longevity.
  5. I suppose we must agree to disagree. Storytelling, for me, is much more important than visual spectacle. IMO Avatar is good-for-nothing story-wise. Visuals are supposed to support/increase storytelling aspects. Kinda how The Last Jedi, visually, is probably great. It sucks at everything else, though. I saw Endgame 4 times, and it still isn't enough. The first 90 mins or so are slow to get through after the first few watches, but the buildup to the last half of the movie is such a huge payoff. Avatar 2 is allegedly creating a new type of filming technology to, again, create a visual spectacle. If the story sucks again, the new tech means nothing to me. To each their own, though.
  6. You mean the guy that can do all the things that Maz said only the Master Codebreaker, the entire premise of the meaningless 30-minute side quest, can do doesn't need a recognizable name!?
  7. Rian Johnson doesn't care about the details of a franchise with history. He doesn't even care about the details within his own movie. Look at the choreography of the throne scene with Rey and Kylo Ren. One of the guards puts on a spinning move with 2 laser-knives and completely avoids contact with Rey because they screwed up. They didn't do a retake. Johnson figured no one would notice. Yeah, a guy could've just y'know kill the leading protagonist, who cares!? The movie is a -show and my blood pressure has quadrupled since I began this post...
  8. Endgame was also an event. It's the 'end of an era', the culmination of a decade of storytelling, and a once-in-a-lifetime event. Avatar was a visual spectacle. Endgame is something much more.
  9. I should give an honorable mention to mah boi @The Lions Den for FOTY.
  10. It's one of the only things you put inside yourself... Food is a serious topic of life!
  11. You don't have to apologize. Rian Johnson does...
  12. Since Bosco opened the can of worms regarding the worst movie(s) you've ever seen, I figured I would threadsurrect this one, and update my Top-10 (in alphabetical order): Avengers, The Avengers: Endgame Avengers: Infinity War Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (UE) Captain America: The Winter Soldier Iron Man Man of Steel The Dark Knight Thor: Ragnarok Watchmen (UC) Honorable Mentions; Avengers: Age of Ultron & The Crow Secret Honorable Mention: Justice League Snyder Cut
  13. My instincts told me that The Last Jedi was going to be great. I've never used The Force again after that unfaithful night...
  14. It's weird, because as a kid, my favorite X-Men heroes were the Summers Bros (honorable mention to Gambit). Hugh Jackman turned me into a big Wolverine fan. Normally I probably wouldn't have been so peeved at those 2 movies, but they just disrespected the character that Jackman portrayed. I would've flipped my lid if Logan was another bust.
  15. It does look trimmed and restored. That's the opinion of a total amateur (me), of course.
  16. Yeah, detached centerfolds are one of those things that take me out of contention for a book. That, and PQ other than "White", are 2 things I avoid. It's just begging to get further damage via shipping or handling.
  17. Yeah, X-Men Origins is awful. I thought The Wolverine was pathetic, too. Logan is the only one they got right. I knew you'd chime in on my pick.
  18. I don't think that the sticker can be salvaged if removed from an authentic CGC label. So, if the label is a fake, then the sticker wouldn't look right.
  19. Only one comic book per topic. You can post up to 3 topics per day, though.
