  1. I think you should get the back cover cleaned because with a clean back cover, the grade will go much higher. I'll take a stab at 8.5 as is. Much higher with a cleaning. Front cover alone is 9.6 worthy because I can't see anything wrong there. Admittedly, I don't have a lot of experience with a book like this, so please weigh that in with what some of the other people think.
  2. Sorry, first time doing this and I just read the instructions where they encourage you to talk a bit about the book. Hey, thanks very much for the input. You made me look at it again and please be advised there is no reader's crease of any kind as a result of the staple being misaligned. However, I did see the color breaking crease along the right side in the middle, about 3/4" long. Very slight, but it's there and it's something I never noticed before, so thanks very much for pointing it out. Comic lies perfectly flat with clean edges all the way around...except for the right side as you already indicated. And yes, there is some tanning on the back cover but none on the front. Corners are sharp. Any upgrade from the 7.0 now that you know there's no reader's crease?
  3. Hey...wadda' ya' know...it worked!
  4. First attempt after 20 years of being on the forum...so
  5. Got help from a boardie to show me how to drop in a scan. I'll get it on tomorrow. Thanks very much for the recommendation.
  6. my copy does not have the blue dot...but the blue outline is there. I'm guessing it's just a splash Cyan ink from the press.
  7. I know that no stains of any kind are allowed but does CGC count a lightly tanned background on the back cover enough of a flaw to make a 8.0 impossible? Asking because I have an X-Men 50 with that problem. Just not sure if CGC considers tanning a stain. Comic has a minor color breaking crease 1/2 down the right edge on the front.
  8. Sorry, forgot to mention that price is of go collect.
  9. Funny you should mention X-Men, I've been watching X-Men 50 slowly climbing to $10,000.00 in CGC 9.8. Been watching it because I believe I might have one. But, not sure how the tan colored back cover will be affected. If CGC considers it a stain...I know, it's toast.
  10. Let's all sit back with some popcorn and see how this plays out. I remember a Hulk 181 in (I don't know, can't remember if it was a 9.8 or a 9.9) that went for crazy money about 15 - 20 years ago and many people had the same reaction. But I'm thinking he's sitting pretty good right now.
  11. There is going to be a Marvel Universe Movie with an all out battle between Wolverine and the Hulk. It's just a matter of time....and it's gonna' be big. That would be a good time to sell. As for, I'll still hang onto the copy I have. I learned a long time ago the best time to sell, is when you need the money and I've always suffered seller's remorse whenever I sold any part of my collection so I stopped selling about 20 years ago.
  12. ....and then for that matter, how do you justify the amount offered?
  13. Wow, in all my years of being on the forum that by far is the absolute best idea in marketing a collection while attempting to attract buyers who demand near mint and only near mint comics.
  14. I know it's not supposed to happen but I have seen 9.8's with a minor spine tick that breaks color. It's difficult to predict, so take a chance...the one you're not sending in because of that tick...could be a good one. Come on, you know who you are.
  15. 7.5 mostly because of the spine ticks. Very nice!
  16. Sure, can't see anything wrong. Chance at a 9.8.
  17. Okay, if there are no tics along the spine and there's nothing going on lower left corner, I gotta go with a chance at a 9.8 as I do not see anything wrong with it.
  18. Wow, I am simply not seeing anything lower than a 9.6. Guys that have already chimed in...what am I missing? It's near perfect. Minor kink on the back cover lower left. Other than that, perfect edges, perfect corners. If that's foxing on the back cover upper right, I'll go down to 9.4. Nice copy.
  19. I could be way out on this but from what I can see can't go any higher than 8.0. Weigh that against anyone else that chimes in.
  20. 4.0 without the "spot" of white. With it...3.5 as is.
  21. I don't know, I'm feeling like I'm trying to grade this at night with sunglasses on. The only thing I notice is something strange lower left cover...not sure what that is. I know it's something...but Help!
