  1. the price for the #9 was in line w/ the last sale and it wasn't a great 9.4 (from my vantage point), so that price wasn't suprising. i overlooked the #18, i would have been a couple of clicks higher than the hammer on that book. the #13 clearly looked like a steal, the #14, #16 and #28 were surprisingly strong. as mentioned, the #6 was pretty hefty for what certainly looked like an overgraded book.
  2. Whoever landed the 9.4 copy of GL #1 for $18K is laughing even more. i'm not laughing as loudly but i paid less than 1/4 the hammer for my 9.2
  3. hilarious as always. i especially liked Dale's childish scrawl- nice touch
  4. Not trying to be cool, but I kind of saw it coming too. When Layman said he saw the series going for about 50 issues, I knew we were way to far into the series to not have been introduced to Tony's nemisis already. you're posting on a comic book message board. i don't think you have anything to worry about. i am glad to see that given the 147 page thread, there are 6 actual readers of the series here.
  5. and the poor seller of the 9.4 netted a whopping $90, less than 1/2 guide
  6. Kudos to VCC purchasers: Quick payment, hassle free JiveTurkeyMoFo BatCollector- only a handful of posts, but no worries here pink181 pirate ernster dawgwindu kingofrulers fastballspecial tatterdemalion
  7. SPOILER WARNING did not see the twist coming. kudos to a very strong first arc.
  8. put me down for dumbfounded. the #96 and #97 left me scratching my head as well, but i didn't bother to check the census or GPA on those since i already owned copies.
  9. The new scan has the bottom spine (near/around the bottom staple) looking a little more cream than the scan in 2006. Hard to tell because the colorings are not matching between the scans, though. What do you guys think? Heritage is known to alter their scans. I dont know about you guys but that book looks to have a good amount of wear on all 4 corners... Agreed. Gift grade or shaken slab syndrome after the fact? looks nothing like SCS- maybe a tiny mouse crawled into the slab

  11. why no mention of the real 9.0 in the heritage auction?
  12. colugo- are you the OO? they're all 9.4-9.8 in my eyes. slab em and post em and hand out drool buckets
  13. I think I topped out at $1098. That`s a book that I have ZERO sense of urgency in acquiring. i crushed you. i was the underbidder- also w/ little enthusiasm
  14. We need someone to play the role of M.A.R.S. and pump up the volume! was at a show this weekend and there wasn't a copy in the room; i have the lash marks from chuckle's ponytail as we scrounged the $1 boxes to prove it. there's a bidding war from the movie studios on the JLA -script based on Geoff Johns's four word pitch: "Megan Fox Nude Scene." get your copy NOW before the rest of the world take advantage of the weakening dollar to buy: the Grand Canyon & every copy of B&B #28.
  15. and 20% below what a boardie paid for a 3.0 ow 2 weeks ago. c'est la vie
  16. I think you should start a GL 7 thread. titled "lame covers i have loved"
  17. it would be an upgrade for the 100 page king, so he's the most likely suspect. and those bobcat books are fantastic. Winner translation please. Bobcat leaves positive feedback for all his winners once the book is shipped. On the feedback left portion of his feedback page, he left positive feedback to this eBay ID for the Superman 245 CGC 9.6. That's how you figure out who won the book even though the eBay ID is still scrambled for the winners. xoxo greggy i don't want you auditing me.

  20. put him on ignore before i read this. glad to see it was justified.
  21. With the weak US dollar and interests from overseas collectors and investors, take this opportunity to add a position for the long term if it pulls back a little. i don't know why i thought that after i retired from the hedge fund biz, i was done w/ hype artists
  22. not so much a 'when" but at what price... I like Richard's 7K value, though Everyone with a SC#22 does. Whatever the grade is Prices seem to stay strong, even on low-low grades. If yours sells around that money, it´ll continue lifting the price into new heights. best offer so far is $5K...so we can "assume" that is the floor to perceived value of the copy This means SC#22 is at least at the same price level as AS#1.........even quite higher and if yours sells at 7k........even a lot higher.. There are over 1500 graded copies of AS#1 and 246 graded SC22, so SC22 is more scarce. 142 collectors and investors can own a AS#1 above 6.5 and only 22 collectors and investors will be able to with SC22. It's really a supply and demand issue here with SC22. As I have mention before, the Mound City copy will set a major tone for high grade SC22. AS #1 (of course, AF #15 is a much better comparable) has been in high demand for 30+ years, SC 22 has been in high demand for two months.
